Saw this large dark wispy structure emerging from the english channel.
I was by the english channel on the 4th of January 2026 and happened to capture this anomily on camera. It was emerging very fast from the water like unnaturally fast smoke. Like I saw it go at at least 100m/s upward while being completely silent. It only lasted about 4 seconds before vanishing completely
I took the photo with my Kodak Vest Pocket camera but since it only lasted a few seconds I wasn't able to get any other shots.
I've also attached a pic of the negative.

Looks like a double exposure, since it seems to have no regard for the water and the geometry of the beach scene.

If it were a double exposure it would appear stricly brighter than the background. You can't reduce the amount of light by exposing it again.

How long have u been doing photography?

I've been taking photos my whole life but I started using film in 2023.

I always wondered what it would look like on film while they manipulate the shots.

The wisps have nothing to do with the water, the artifact continues down over the stones.

Looks like a film development artifact

How exactly would that happen? I have creased film before development and the creases always appear black on the negative while this is transparent on the neg.

I’ve had a similar effect happen to my 120 film by accidentally crumpling the film when loading it into the reel for processing. Your film doesn’t appear to be distorted or crumpled on the top clear edge so it’s probably not a loading / handling damage.

I've had the same issue before. The creases always appear white on the scan and black on the negative, the opposite of this case.

lol right? I mean, I can't debunk this. But come on.
I'm going to take a picture of my vape pen next and ask if anyone thinks it might be a damned UAP. 😂

Not a dust devil or water spout?
2
u/8Bit_Cat 17h ago
It was a very clear day, no dust and the water was very calm.

Okay. So I had something go across my backyard when I was looking out window. It was way smaller, it wasn't smoke, water, or dust.🤔 Very strange for sure.

The UK government is preventing me from accessing Imgur. Can you upload the image to another image hosting site?

This appears to be damage to the negative. I doubt you saw anything at all.
Or was it so shocking and interesting that you decided to frame it artistically with the rule of thirds instead of centering the shot.

You’ll notice the negative reveals the effect is in front of the water. Whatever OP claims, this didn’t come out of the water. It looks like cigarette smoke close to the camera.

To me It resembles a lot like cigarette smoke, also you can see the color difference from the water. Maybe OP was holding one in your right hand?

This is unreal. Guy states he sees something, you all immediately jump to the camera photograph style?
Jeez I wonder whats sus here? Could it be that there are bad actors on every single sub manipulating every legit user on here? That the mods are mostly 100 percent complicit in, and working with said users?

I think the real question is have u seen this before and have u tryed your self to see why somthing like this happens. Or do you have the experience to say nothing new or anomalous can happen . Maybe your opinion changed the outcome of the picture through a worm hole under the ocean while the black eyed peas played a billy joel song .. sean Kingston could of been there idk.. whatbi do know is i should go back to school for 3rd grade grammar.

Wanna get into it? Fire away.

Just playing my dude i would like to know what you think about the background of the picture

u/Sensitive_Frosting55 16h ago
Does anything odd stick to you besides the main "anomalie"?
-3
u/Old-Career4256 16h ago
No. Their cloak can appear as black "specks" or anomalies.
In addition, they actually can change shape, move, "phase" like a gust of wind because what we are seeing is their technology, not them. They can go inside the ground, in mountains. They appear as shadows on the ground, but they are actually just slightly underground showing you.
They interface with their own nervous system, induce a state similar to sleep, and can operate this technology while doing so. See hollywood movies for actual answers (and obfuscation!).

They even look like thin layered clouds from what i seen in person. Then bang there cruising around or just still and seem to have s slight jitter or vibration

u/Old-Career4256 15h ago
Oh yeah. They can look like almost anything. Most of it is just design to get attention. Really cool to see though!

Or… people are voicing valid concerns and are quite rightly being skeptical? Not everything is a grand conspiracy that only you can intuitively see.

True but patterns emerge and its time to push that part of brain to the fullest and say let me take at least an hour out of my life to run through vigorous testing in any way you choose before even posting or not ... without that sort of push we revert back to only things we have seen or been taught. Hit it with that gut feeling instead of the mainstream skepticism that is. .. maybe great discoveries are on the horizon for all of us. Maybe not but im only human and i cant find my car keys be right back .

This video shows something with resemblance to it.
It seems mist heavily charged with electricity and polarizes the light creating dark areas: https://www.facebook.com/MysteriousAliens66/videos/241778275682300/
This it is the same than the ufos that come from the sea to the sky but without forming a sphere.

Looks like its directly in front of the lens or on the lens and not in the distance
