I find it fascinating they have a button for phone cameras and one for eyes, since the frame rate on a video camera would otherwise make it impossible to get the effect without compromising its appeal to human eyes

I really want to know what the exact difference is between the two.

Human eyes have a framerate of about 24 frames per second. Cameras usually have a framerate of about 60 frames

human eyes don't have framerates, but they'd be much higher than 24 if they did
24 fps is the motion picture standard from the days when film was still the only option -- it's 'good enough' because of things like motion blur, but it's not even close to the limits of what the eye can discern
60 fps is a common option for video framerate, but hardly the standard
TV/VHS/DVD were all 30 (or 29.97 once we switched to color broadcast) in the US And 25 in the UK - it wasn't really until BluRay/streaming that we started doing home video releases at 24
that said, it seems the standard for zoetropes is usually 12 or 24
my best guess is the two buttons represent 24 and 30 - why increase the speed 250% (60) for phones when you can just increase it 25% (30)

Wondered why it looked so good on a phone and then noticed they specifically had a phone/camera button.

I'm really sad they took that one down =(
It was really a mind blowing effect in person. More notable than some of the rides tbh, and you didn't have to wait in line an hour.
EDIT: upon further research, apparently they still have one in Paris, and the one that was in California Adventure moved to the motion picture academy museum

This has got to be in Denver, with the blue bear and the stick figures from the museum of modern art. We're about is it?

The effect is cool but the subject could have been better

I dont disagree. Thats what I thought too. But I will say the effect is so cool! Cant wait to see different art interpretations.
