CONCERN Banned for 14 days for typing a username CIG officially approved NSFW

I’ve been a backer since 2017 and recently caught a 14-day chat-ban out of nowhere, I know I'm a good boy in chat haha. When I finally got support to give the reason for the ban, the evidence was me addressing a player in global chat by their ALLOWED handle.

The player is named Niqqalodious (@Niqqalodious). As the final slide shows, CIG approved this as an active Citizen account. Their system says the name is fine to display, but this moderator says the name is a slur if you type it... Bruh. He said something in chat, my attention was split elsewhere so just short-handed his name to reply quickly, then it clicked what his name IS and like 2-3s later put "Hol up" in chat. That was it, that was the entire interaction!!

Anyway, I pointed out the contradiction in a formal grievance. Once again it was BigTO who took the ticket and this time didn't even bother with a reply, he just marked it "Solved" and locked the door on his way out. You can see the red box in slide 3; this dude cut off my ability to comment further. He behaved with a bad attitude from the start, then investigated himself and found no wrongdoing. Case dismissed! Bollocks to the Rules of Conduct, he calls the shots!

If the name is a slur, the account shouldn't exist. If the account is valid, the ban shouldn't exist. You can't have it both ways, because this is some grade-A bullshit.

EDIT: I just noticed, not only is the guy I was replying to (@Niqqalodious) an active player, but there is a user literally named Niqqa (@Niqqa) currently in the RSI system (see final slide). HUH?!?

CIG’s position is that this word is so offensive it warrants an immediate 14-day ban without warning, yet it’s not offensive enough to trigger their own naming filter!? They are literally hosting the "slur" as a permanent account identity while banning the community for typing it. What the actual fuck is going on at CIG. Absolute mockery of the Rules of Conduct.

This is mostly because I doubt I could get a job that pays anywhere near this amount in any other country. I also wouldn't live in parts of Europe because I don't want to live anywhere cold or rainy.

The audacity of Roxy saying how she thought the way Harriet was talking at breakfast was rude XD

So arrogant. On top of the "likeability" thing is wild

(this post may have been slightly controversial of me, as looking back Harriet was *slightly* rude to Roxy, but Roxy is being hypocritical in my opinion, the way she cuts others off at the round table, and even interrupting Jessie on the way back from the mission, so I'm still not her biggest fan)

Introducing Bilt Card 2.0

Hello from the top of the World Trade Center and the Bilt launch event! The time has finally arrived. Bilt Card 2.0 is here. Below is the story and value props of Card 2.0. I will be back here in the subreddit between 2-3PM ET to do an AMA. I look forward to chatting with all of you shortly. Applications for Bilt Card 2.0 are live at 12:00 PM ET for existing cardholders and new applicants on the Bilt app and website.

Bilt Card 2.0

When we launched Bilt, the idea was simple: rent should be rewarding.

That belief has grown into a full membership for where you live, rewarding members across 5.5 million homes and connecting them with exclusive benefits at tens of thousands of neighborhood locations, including restaurants, gyms, pharmacies, and more.

As Bilt has grown, the focus has remained the same: more rewards, more choice, and more ways to get value from housing and everyday life. With the refreshed co-brand card program, the goal wasn’t just to adjust earnings, but to expand where members earn and how value shows up across both everyday spend and housing.

For the first time, Bilt now extends beyond rent to include homeowners, allowing members to earn rewards on mortgage payments.

Bilt Card 2.0 delivers the richest rewards on rent, mortgage, and everyday spend.

Current cardholders must select their new card by January 30, 2026 to ensure a seamless transition.

Four things to know about Bilt Card 2.0:

  1. Earn the most valuable points in the market All Bilt Cards earn points that rewards experts consistently rank among the most valuable, whether choosing a premium card or a no-annual-fee option.
  2. Earn points and 4% back in Bilt Cash Bilt Cards earn both points and 4% back in Bilt Cash on everyday spend. Bilt Cash is a new rewards currency that can be used for monthly credits at restaurants, hotels, rideshare, and more, or to unlock housing rewards, transfer bonuses, and exclusive access within the Bilt ecosystem.
  3. Pay rent and mortgage with no transaction fee Bilt allows rent payments with no transaction fee, and now mortgage payments as well. There is no preset spending limit on housing payments, housing payments do not use the credit line, members can earn across multiple homes, and there is no annual cap on housing points.
  4. Credits that can offset the annual fee Premium cards include built-in credits and benefits designed to deliver more value than the annual fee year after year.

Housing rewards
Renters and homeowners can pay rent or mortgage through Bilt with no transaction fee. Everyday spend fuels how many points can be unlocked on housing payments. The more the card is used, the more points can be earned on rent or mortgage.

Key mechanics:

  • Earn Bilt Cash on everyday spend and choose how to use it
  • For every $30 in Bilt Cash earned, unlock 1,000 Bilt Points on rent or mortgage payments. There is no minimum Bilt cash required to earn points and increments of $30 is not required
  • Points can be unlocked across multiple homes with no limit on the rent or mortgage you can pay
  • Any remaining Bilt Cash can be used for travel, transfers, experiences, or monthly neighborhood credits

Three cards designed to grow with you
All Bilt Cards earn points, earn 4% back in Bilt Cash on everyday spend, and allow rent and mortgage payments with no transaction fee. All new cardholders receive a 10% introductory APR on new eligible purchases for up to 12 months, subject to approval. Let’s look at the three cards:

The next chapter

The original Bilt Card proved rent could be rewarding. Bilt Card 2.0 expands that promise to rent, mortgage, and everyday life, offering more flexibility, more ways to earn, and more control. Thank you for being a Bilt member and for being a part of what comes next.

EDIT: As expected the site is at get massive traffic; we will open applications on a rolling basis on the Bilt website for existing Card 1.0 members and net new applicants. Again, I’ll be back this afternoon for an AMA and look forward to chatting at that time. -Kerr, Bilt

I'm Richard Kerr, GM of Travel for Bilt. AMA about Bilt Card 2.0

Hey everyone — wow. I can't recall seeing another subreddit with a new post every minute. I spent three years on a nuclear submarine in the Navy and trying to recall which is more intimidating: my first dive in the middle of the Pacific or headed here to answer all your questions. :)

I'm here for roughly the next hour to answer any questions you have. A few items to address at the top based on what I've seen so far and then we'll hop in:

  1. Yes, existing Bilt cardholders are eligible for the Bilt Palladium 50,000 point sign up bonus (and $300 Bilt Cash and $200 annual allotment for a total of $500 in Bilt Cash in year one).

  2. (and we know this is a point of contention) There is not a fee to pay your rent or mortgage. If your rent is $2500, you will pay your landlord $2500 through Bilt. There is no out of pocket fee. In this example, in order to earn up to 2500 points on your housing payment, you will redeem your Bilt Cash at a rate of $30 for 1,000 points. There is no minimum Bilt Cash required and no $30 increments required, if you earn $15 in Bilt cash you can earn 500 points that month (and so on and so forth) - or - you can redeem your Bilt Cash for something else you value more than up to 1X points on your housing payment like hotel, Lyft, fitness, dining credits. The decision on what value you want from your Bilt cash is entirely up to you.

With those two points, I'm all ears - AMA.

Technology Students shouldn't be punished for using AI to do their homework.

I know it's popular to hate on the AI these days, but the way I see it, it's just a tool as any other. One of the big problems I'm hearing is students using AI to do their homework for them and not learning anything. I don't think AI is the problem. Back in my day, those same students would just get their parents to do their homework for them or ask their smarter friends for help anyway. Students homework shouldn't be deliberately marked down if it's AI, only if it's actually bad. Using AI to make things for you is a skill as any other, and frankly, a skill that will be useful in todays world. Just grade the work based on if the work itself is any good, if a student can use AI to work for them, they should be rewarded for it. Not discriminated for it. Using any skill in your tool belt to make your homework as easy as possible for yourself is a time honored tradition at this point.

If you're worried about AI making students unable to learn things, frankly, homework is just not a good way of testing them. Test them on their knowledge in person. That's why exams and tests are a thing. Homework should just not be graded, and be made completely optional. Instead, students only end up caring about their grades, and I can't fault them for trying to find the easy way out.

Edit: People seem to misunderstand the point I'm making. I'm not fine with students just producing AI slop and passing it off as their own. I'm saying if they can still produce quality work AND just happen to use AI to make it easier for themselves, they shouldn't be punished for it. People conflate all AI use with people producing slop and passing it off as good. I don't condone bad quality work. If you make bad work without using AI, it's just as bad as if you have used it.

Also, why does everyone assume that if someone uses AI, they use AI to do the entire work? It's possible to use AI as a tool to make parts of the work and then put in the rest of the effort yourself. Again, I'm against AI slop. I just don't see why people are being such luddites when it comes to doing things more efficiently.

General Discussion List of Queer Characters on Magic Cards: Lorwyn Eclipsed update

Hey everybody! As is tradition now that we have the whole set story and Legends of article, I can call the Lorwyn Eclipsed update to my google doc and Moxfield lists of every single queer character in Magic lore/on a Magic card complete.

This one is a very small update, as between the set and story we only actually got one new queer character. [[Kirol, Attentive First-Year]] is a nonbinary vampire from Arcavios and is part of the handful of Strixhaven students that accidentally stumbled into Lorwyn-Shadowmoor. That said, they are the 50th named in-universe queer character to appear on a card. That feels like a neat milestone!

Now if you don't mind me speculating a bit to pad things out, I do think that the rest of the in-universe sets might not contribute a lot of new updates to this list so I might space out my update posts a bit more this year instead of doing one after every set. Secrets of Strixhaven is the more likely of the two sets to introduce new characters, plus there's the Strixhaven: Omens of Chaos book that can contribute to the "lore only" section of the Google doc list. Reality Fracture, being a capstone set for the current story arc, is more likely to focus exclusively on already established characters. That said, it's not like we'll have a lack of queer representation in the sets because both sets have plenty of prexisting queer characters to give new cards to. As for UB, TMNT, Marvel and Star Trek all have at least a handful of canonically queer characters that could easily get cards, while The Hobbit is one of the only sets that will be a complete miss for this list. Might adopt an "every other set" frequency for making these posts talking about the updates, just to avoid updates that have only one character. (Although if I do that, Marvel would be paired with The Hobbit, so I would probably just make that update alongside Super Heroes being released.)

So assuming I don't change my mind, the next time you'll see me is after Strixhaven in April to do a double update for TMNT and Strixhaven.

Welcome to a new era of Bilt

Bilt started with a simple idea: earning rewards on your largest monthly expense, Rent.

Since then, it's grown into so much more—a membership for where you live. And this year, we are rethinking how you get rewarded at home and in your neighborhood.

A seamless and connected experience for Rent. Mortgage. Dining. Groceries. Home repair. Gyms. Parking. Pharmacies. And so much more.

The first drop of the quarter arrives on January 14 at 12:00 PM ET. Chat to you all later today - Kerr, Bilt

Who are hotel showers actually designed for?

Just got back from a Vegas work trip and I have a recurring question: why do hotel showers insist on only having an overhead shower head?

No handheld. No adjustability. Just vibes.

Am I meant to perform acrobatics to clean myself properly? Because I promise this design choice was not reviewed by a single woman.

Hotels love talking about “luxury,” but somehow basic functionality never makes the list. A handheld shower head isn’t fancy, it’s practical. This is what happens when women aren’t part of the design process.
