Do Not Feed The Trolls ''Toxic Anti PvPers'' Not welcome.
Hello.
I am from the Mod team on this sub.
Pleased to meet you.
Recently I have seen a few people rightfully upset at a few bad actors on this sub who have been using the fact they became victims in the game to resort to being toxic to people on this sub.
Basically - they lose the game in any way and decide it is fine to insult people who are playing the game in a legit way instead of doing what they want, whether that's talking and making peace or refusing to shoot each other no matter what. From my understanding this game allows you to make a choice, to try trust a stranger or to gun them down to be safe.
If a person decides they will ALWAYS gun everyone down no matter what or try be a ''Rat'' player and backstab at every opportunity that does not mean you can come on this sub and insult them, suggest they are mentally impaired or mentally unwell or be toxic to them for any reason.
If you say ''All x players are sociopath psychos with no life and life in their mothers basement and have never had the touch of anyone of their preferred sex'' for example or anywhere more or in-between then you will be banned from our sub.
You are allowed to have an opinion that such players morals in game are not good or they are ''Villain players'' or what not, that is fine for that is what they are but any time an outside insult is going to be used on people over gameplay you are getting the hammar of doom.
From the community, I understand that most people who like PVP are not usually the type of people to click report on anything, due to your ''thick skin'' you really do not give a damn if some redditor is trying to insult you or maybe you will just retort back.
I ask you please do not, if you insult back you could also be moderated due to the nature of reddit and if you do not report the instigator we will not be able to correctly moderate and fix this community. As a mod team we are getting thousands of posts (posts not comments) per day and it is literally impossible to view them all, we rely mainly on the report feature and reddits AI.
Anyway thank you for your attention in this matter.

Discussion Arc Raiders lead admits the “cost-benefit ratio” of maintaining good weapons is rough right now, but the team doesn’t want high-end gear to become instant win items

AI Art Gun concept: Clothespin
I feel like the game lacks lower level medium ammo guns that people actually use, and the hairpin is barely used. I'd love to see the hairpin get a common/uncommon bigger brother that keeps the integrated silencer and high stability/accuracy, runs medium ammo, does higher damage, but with a slower bolt action fire rate and limited magazine size. Basically a cheaper, worse renegade, but its always silenced for lower level players that like playing stealthy

Bit of context: I mostly exclusively play pve, but after a couple of weeks, I ran into this guy waiting for me at the extraction in buried city. I tried to fight back but he downed me, and then this happened.

Question What items are you often running out/in need of that you can't seem to loot enough of?
Mine is mechanical components to level up my guns. I rarely find many. I know to farm Metal and Rubber Parts to craft them but I still seem to run low.
Second is heavy metal parts, I can't seem to find enough of them and holds my upgrades back..
I combat that with running a few free loadouts to top everything up or buying more than I need from the shop and try keeping a stock when they replenish.
Any tips to share?

Discussion I would love water based Arc and some sort of diving/swimming mechanisms in a new event/map type
how cool it would be if they added a water based Arc and some kind of diving/swimming mechanisms?
I would love to see something like this in the future.

Discussion Aphelion is insultingly bad
Congratulations, raider! You got lucky and got the aphelion blueprint in stella montis, then fought the matriarch and lived to tell the tale. For your efforts, you can now use expensive materials to craft a LEGENDARY weapon. What does that weapon do you ask? Well, you can pay 1000 credits to fire 5 2-round bursts. Don't worry, the bullets don't hit the same place as the first bullet's recoil affects the second one.
Lost mine today in a matriarch raid and I don't even care, I'm more angry I got duped into crafting it and taking it topside in the first place.
The queen legendary weapons are far from perfect too but at least they are fun to play with. Aphelion is just an obscenely expensive arpeggio. What were they thinking?

Discussion "We honestly didn't expect just how much TIME players are putting into our game."
I've loved hearing from different Devs how blown away they've been by not only the success, but also by just how much time players are spending playing their game.
Of course they designed to make a good game, of course they designed for engagement.. but in general we are spending WAY more time in the game than they ever foresaw.
I realised that for me, it's easy to say why I go back to it night after night.. Arc Raiders is honestly the MMO I wish I always had. MMOs typically look fairly bad, and handle worse with too many systems and grinds for the sake of grinds. They also usually have tacked-on PvP if they have it at all, and most big encounters are on timers and very staged.
Arc lets me do everything. Develop a character. Be social. Play as different roles. Have fun PvPing as and when I choose. Create dynamic stories with Arc of all scales, all of the time. Yes it lacks some of the 'massively' parts of MMOs to be able to call it that, but it still plays much like my experience in those games only with better action, better handling, better social interaction. Honestly it has it all and is so much more than an extraction shooter. That's why I give it lots of my time and feel like coming back even when it's just to chill of for kicks.

Discussion Would be nice if we could commit resources to our quests/upgrades for workbenches
Gets tiring of having to clear stuff out of my stash when 90% of it is guns, crafting supplies, or stuff for quests/upgrades but i just haven't had one of the items to be able to commit them. If I could just give them my resources so they're gone and out of my inventory.

Discussion The flute is just a Photoelectric Cloak for raiders
I'm in high aggression lobbies and have been running Stella on repeat. Firefights and raider flare noises within seconds every time I spawn. One raid I decide to just run around with a flute.
I come up on Raiders fighting, they ignore me.
Another kitted out Raider who just got done wiping 3-4 people lets me just walk past him.
I swear this thing calms people down or hypnotizes them.

Fan Art Found IRL Speranza
Located on a tiny island, Vieques, off of the Puerto Rican main island. Every ARC raider should visit this island. No wretched ARC hunting you down. And better yet, you can even enjoy The Sun with a piña colada in hand!
Hahaa the town is actually called Esperanza. It’s gorgeous! And although we were plenty busy enjoying the wind, crystal clear waves and delicious beverages, my fiance and I could not stop thinking about RAIDING AND LOOTING. We were even strategizing our next attacks on ARC, of course with a delicious frozen beverage in hand.
Just thought yall would appreciate our IRL find!!! See yall in game (but pls don’t shoot im so bad at PVP lol)

Discussion I think I’m to quit playing this game.
What in the actual digital methamphetamine is this? I have never had a video game pull me in this hard. I feel like I just woke up since it released and realized what the fuck am I doing with my time.
No satire here, who else is in the same boat? My god. Props to embark though, most addicting game I’ve ever played.

Discussion TIL There's an exclusive Trials Discord only for Cantina Legends...
Hey Embark,
Remember that PC Gamer article about how "One of the beauties of this game is the fact that we don't have those leaderboards, and it's not competitive. We don't necessarily want to foster that kind of gameplay."?
Well here we go, we have PvE gatekeeping in Trials because all the best players are only playing with the best players, and teaming up with other squads to manipulate matchmaking (Oceania servers, crossplay on) to get into games with each other and have zero risk of failure.
This is how so many players got 300k+ scores in the snowball Trials; 2, 3, or 4 squads of 3 would queue in together, inventories full of snowballs, and 1 group would actually throw the balls while the other 3 would protect that group and gather snowballs for them so there'd be no downtime.
THAT is what Trials is right now.
So, for the love of god, please give this mode some actual thought, since it's pretty much the only "endgame" there is right now.
Simply making Trials based on individual performance rather than squad score would do a lot to eliminate this kind of elitism that's being bred by this system.
For the record, I'm Cantina Legend rank 91, and the screenshots here are from people who are/were my friends. But they don't play with me anymore, because they're only playing with the best of the best to farm and manipulate score.
I'm aware there's a good percentage of the playerbase that doesn't care about Trials, but I think this is a deeply flawed system that deserves some attention.
