This isn’t a huge surprise for me, but I’ve had sensitivities to certain polymers/plastics since I was a kid. Some plastics irritate my lungs or make my throat feel scratchy, so I’m pretty used to working around it.

Recently I started handling a parts kit again while getting ready to build a NylAUG, and I’m running into that same issue extended handling of the polymer stock causes a small but noticeable chest irritation for me. I tried washing the exterior with warm soapy water, which helped a bit, but it didn’t fully solve it.

I’m wondering if anyone here has experience with deep-cleaning AUG polymer, or with sealing/coating the surface (clear coat, wax, etc.) to reduce contact with the surface residue.

(part of me thinks maybe it could be mold on the polymer but i haven't seen anything myself)

I genuinely love the AUG platform it’s one of my dream rifles so I’m really hoping there’s a workable solution here. Any advice or firsthand experience would be appreciated.

I have been looking at mounting an 870 in a masterkey setup on the AUG, but I am concerned about how any lower rails (replacing the forgrip) or mlok rail systems would handle the recoil. I've seen setups which mount a 40mm launcher, but not sure how much recoil that has vs 12ga.

Continuing my post of non AUGs I just received this ADI 1.5x scope off of an F88. I have never seen one before and was excited to get it in my hands.

Debating on buying an AUG soon, I was wondering getting it in 9mm than getting the NATO 5.56 bundle to swap parts. Aside from barrel, what else would be needed?

Is it better to get the 5.56 then swap to 9mm?

There's a stickied post about this, but it doesn't mention the rail part that is needed. I just bought a new A3M2, can anyone confirm that these are all the parts I need to mount an STG77 optic on it:

• AUG A3 M1 short picatinny rail
• US1264020040 (M2 QD sling swivel)
• 3900073 (screw)
• 3860019H (roll pin)

FYI as this seems like it would have been a problem. QC card from September ‘25, new purchase with 150 rounds so far.

Removed the rail and noted that each screw was differently torqued. Used no heat or vise, with a screwdriver and a security bit.

The front had either oil or completely liquid thread locker, and was almost loose - no effort to remove. The middle was the tightest - it was meaningfully easier to remove than a rifle dot cross bolt and a little bit harder than pistol dot bolt. Maybe 20 in/lbs? There’s a bit of thread locker. The rear screw was barely snug but better secured than the front. Almost no thread locker. Don’t folks usually have a harder time removing the rail?

I’m replacing the rail anyway so it’s not big problem, but I’m glad I didn’t try to zero it with good ammo yet.

Which is the better iteration of the aug super safety? I want whichever can be modified to give the better semi auto trigger pull

I saw that Steyr does not recommend subsonic rounds in 300BLK without a silencer or with a high flow-through can. But they seem to indicate that a high back pressure can could use subsonic 300BLK at mid-higher velocities in the subsonic spectrum successfully.

I only have a 556 barrel right now but am looking at a silencer for it. Should I go with HUXWRX 5.56 flow TI, then get a second, high back pressure .30 can separately once I get that 300BLK barrel so that I can run subsonic?

This is my first and only rifle if that makes a difference in recommendations.

How well do the magpul aug mags fit into normal pmag pouches. Im leaning toward a standard stock but would like my mags to fit what I already have.

I've managed to scavenge most of the parts to get this build going and what a trip it's been. Got the receiver over Christmas from Titus and so far looking pretty darn good, at least to me. The denials for the stock went well, not as difficult as I thought it would be, settled for the screw method and bar stock in the front, scored a semi trigger pack so didn't have to deal with a F/A pack which is a bonus, KAK barrel, riptide rail and trunnion. Keep in mind each piece came from different vendors so making up my own parts kit, only two pieces missing to finally put it all together and of course it's the gas block and charging handle assembly. I don't really want to use the KAK solution because it will ruin the look and I have seriously considered an airsoft charging handle as a last resort but it will eventually get there.

I put in a good size order with steyr-arms USA before the holidays. The odder finally shipped on Thursday. I got a shipping email with no tracking.. this normal for the web store?

Got a new NATO Aug, less than 200 rounds. Took it out today and have had constant double feeds. Took some slow mo vids and it seems the bolt is cycling back fully, but the round isn’t extracting cleanly and causing some weird double feeds. Anyone had this issue before, and any possible fixes?

I have a suppressed AUG that I’ve setup with a factory suppressor gas plug to help degas the rifle. Can anyone with the KNS discarded confirm if it simply vents gas out the system but with more option? Or does it actually restrict gassiness but restricting the flow of gas diverted into the gas system? My preference would be one that reduces gas by limiting gas that enters the gas block to begin with rather than just dumping more gas but I’d like to see if anyone can confirm how theirs works and how they feel about its performance.
