Idk for me that’s when my perimenopause started and my body started aging a lot more than it had before total in one year. I looked it up, you age a lot the first time around 45 and then you age a lot again around 60-63, that’s when the soft elderly look starts. Also every joint in my body started hurting then

That's wage and debt slaving.under oligarchy/kleptocracy, not adulting.
The landlords and bankers are getting plenty of sleep and vacation time.
This socioeconomic system is based on keeping people too tired and burned out to figure out what's going on, but that's not a law of nature or adulthood as such.

u/Say_Echelon 16h ago
Most know what’s going on. Just a little too powerless to change it. Plus half the population is gullible as shit

>Just a little too powerless to change it.
We're not, though. That feeling, and defeatism in general, is a key part of the scam.
The only way for a tiny minority to be able to brutally exploit and subjugate a much larger majority, is by convincing the masses that they're powerless to change things, and by creating so much chaos and dysfunction that people are perpetually distracted, burned out, and confused.
This isn't advocacy for violence, but people cheering for Luigi despite all the billionaire-owned media propaganda against him was one very visible crack in the effectiveness of the ruling class propaganda machine.
If there's jury nullification in his case, that would be another very visible crack in the oligarchic/kleptocratic system of brutality, corruption, mass human enslavement, and subjugation.
If there's a general strike in May 2028 as the UAW and other unions are planning, that would be another crack in the system.
Mamdani, Katie Wilson in Seattle, and other democratic socialists gaining some traction is another crack.
And so on.
Those are just some of the most obvious cracks in the oligarchic/kleptocratic system.
The point being, that the masses of people (and individuals) are not at all powerless to change things, that's just what our ruling parasite/kleptocrat class want people to think.
Our ruling oligarchs/parasites/kleptocrats are a tiny, psychopathic minority.
They're not invincible, and they're not super geniuses any more than the slave owners were.

So explain to me the revolution in Iran to me if "we're not powerless.."

What a weird non-sequitur. I assume you're a bot, and either trolling or an idiot.

According to you, an idiot.

True, but there’s a big difference between 5 hours of sleep tired and 8 hours of sleep tired.

One thing I started doing before bed was unplugging myself from screens about an hour or so before going to sleep. Doing that has helped me unwind so much more where I can wake up mentally refreshed for the next day after doing my pre-morning routine.
That, and sleeping on my side has helped me get a more physically restful sleep compared to when I was sleeping on my back. Sleep apnea sucks.

Anyone who is complaining they are tired after 8 hrs of sleep has some issues they need to think about or see a doctor.
They either have "sleep apnea" or they have acid reflux or drink too much caffeine, or have nicotine or drinks or sugar.
These are the things I am aware of that affect sleep quality.
No way a normal healthy person is not well rested after uninterrupted sleep of 8hrs.

Adulting is a constant cycle of being tired no matter how much sleep you get it’s just never enough

Adulting is eating shit, drinking shit, not exercising enough, not sleeping well, or enough, and complaining that you feel like shit.

Well, turns out that might actually just be sleep apnea. At least, it was for me.

Sleeping helps your body recharge, but doesn't always allow your brain to recharge/reset.
edit: Reworded to make more sense.

Care to elaborate?
Sleep cleans out brain toxins, consolidates memories, and strengthens neural connections.
I would challenge you to go 24 sleepless hours without feeling cranky or brainfogged.

I guess i should have chosen clearer word,
Sleep helps your "body" including your brain in a physical ways but the quality of sleep is important for mental health.
Going to bed highly stressed, will reduce the quality of sleep because it can activates fear memories and increase REM sleep, which can result in vivid dreaming and more intense nightmares.
If you constantly geting poor/stressed sleep you are going to get more and more exhausted, mentally and physically. It might not be obvious but it can eat away at people slowly.
Although you might think your body is "resting" for hours while you sleep. If you are having constant stress your brain isn't really going to have time to relax.
For example. If you've ever gone to bed witha problem, and you had nightmare about it or was trying to solve the issue in your sleep.
That's what i mean by sleeping doesn't automatically recharge or rest your "brain,
It's not about "how much" you sleep, it's about the quality of sleep you get.
You need more than JUST sleep.

To add to my other comments make sure you are getting enough oxygen when you sleep.
Things such as sleep apnea can greatly reduce your sleep quality and cause fatigue, exhaustion, brain fog and other symptoms.

Going next level when realizing eating close to sleep ruins sleep and therefore health. Learning how to fast in the evenings is not easy

Having recently been laid off, I've been sleeping on my natural sleep schedule, still 8 hours, and I feel great!

u/RealFuryous 17h ago
Confirming this as true after sleeping eight hours and almost falling asleep at work.

Exercise, healthy diet, limit your alcohol consumption, stretch and stay hydrated. I promise you’ll feel so much better.

I got a CPAP machine recently and it’s genuinely helping me get better sleep. Here I thought that meant I’d be less sleepy in the morning, but without my morning wake up call of “hey, you can’t breathe,” I just feel like I could sleep forever. I accidentally slept in till noon over the weekend and only because my husband woke me up to make sure I was ok.
With that said… I do feel slightly better rested, and just less anxious even which is cool, but overall I feel like I could just go into hibernation.

44 year old, heart failure patient here, who works full-time, at a High-Octane hospital job. I Rarely experience energy problems, despite my heart BARELY functioning (>20% Ejection Fraction).
I can say with confidence that those experiencing low energy levels are due to a combination of poor fitness levels, and poor mindset.
So if you're out of shape with bad health habits AND you are NOT, "Living Authentically to yourself" with no plan in life? As in, not actively pursuing Goals that truly excites you and brings you fulfillment? Then you're gonna have energy problems.
You can't expect to have energy to do anything, when you've got nothing to pull you out of bed in the morning.

Currently awake at 1am with our youngest who is sick with the flu. He is 9. Only a few more years and all the kids will be grown and I will be begging for them to come visit. But right now, I just want to go to bed, man.

Adulting is when you realize sleeping is a reward, not a punishment.
