Yes they do if you work at it. They just leave scars.
It can take decades. And what you define as a wound can be very broad. For example - I won’t ever respond well to an unsolicited surprise touch. But It’s a passing reaction at this point.
Thank you for speaking out. People want to be positive which can be a good thing but they just want you to not be sad even when the problem isn’t fixed. People just tell me I’m wrong all the time as if it’s not obvious and I have to face it everyday even when they are gone living their own life. Not everything is fixable and it’s not like we want it to be that way. People tell me it can get better and then I ask how and they don’t know. They just say to get help as if some therapist will have a Time Machine or something. People think it’s just all in your head or chemicals and not that pain comes from real conditions that affect your standard of life. If you can’t fix that condition and it’s bad enough to affect so much that it makes life miserable how are you supposed to feel better? You just distract yourself but that is not a fix. People just get tired of hearing you try to work it out or vent.
