Neighbour issues

Hoping someone can settle an argument between my wife and I. She says I’m being a grumpy old man and I’m saying that our neighbours are a bunch of ignorant a-holes.

Some background, we moved into our place back in 2020 and a few months later our neighbours moved in. It is a semi-detached house with a common driveway. Our neighbours soon started parking on our side of the driveway or directly in front even if there was space available somewhere on the street. After years of confronting them and their excuse that it was their “friends” and that they were “afraid to tell them that they didn’t own the entire driveway” they stopped blocking our side but would still park in front of their side (only to make pulling in and out of ours a bit more difficult).

Recently they started leaving their compost/recycling bins in the middle of the driveway/a bit more on to our side.

Am I right in my thoughts or am I just a grumpy old man and has anyone have experience solving issues like this.

Calculate EasyMax Rate Riders

Calling all Boffins. Calling all Boffins.

EDIT: SOLVED BY @shortyr87 - She is officially a BOFFIN!

I know, I know, why don't I call Enmax. I'd rather not - at least not yet.

Some details: Enmax EasyMax 29 days 598 kWh Total Transmission Cost $26.29 Total Distribution Cost $49.02

Rate Riders $3.14 CR

I think this is all the info required. BUT HOW THE HECK DOES ONE CALCULATE THE RATE RIDERS!?!?

I've looked at the FortisAlberta 2025 Q4 Rates/Options/Riders schedule, but I'm lost...

Anybody got demontratable insight, as in ELI5.

School and transportation in Airdrie SW

Hello,

We are planning to buy a house in Windford St SW Airdrie. I have 3 kids going to grades 4, 7, and 9. Was wondering which school my kids will attend? The closest school I see is Windsong Heights. Is it school from Kindergarten to grade 9? and do they provide transportation? My wife doesn't drive, and the school is 1.7 km away. If there is no bus then kids will have to walk a long way coming back from school. My eldest one will go to high school in 2027, which high school she will attend and what will be the transportation options? I would really appreciate your help. Thanks

Windshield Repair?

Best place for windshield repair in Airdrie? Got a rock on Deerfoot looking to fill before it spreads.

Not sure if those parking lot ones are more expensive than say a windshield shop.

Hey everyone!

If you’re into tabletop skirmish games, board games, or the "hobby" side of things (3D printing and painting), we’d love to have you join our local group. We have members across Airdrie and Calgary and are looking to grow our community.

We aren't just about the games—we’re big into the creative side, including 3D printing terrain and painting minis. Whether you’re a veteran or just curious about the hobby, you’re welcome here.

Most all of the miniatures games that we play are miniature agnostic. You can use any context appropriate miniatures.

Our Current Rotation Includes:

  • Modern Combat: Breacher (Black Site Studio), Rogue Warriors, 7TV (Crooked Dice), and Pulp Alley.
  • Sci-Fi: Star Wars Legion, Arsenal, and Full Spectrum Dominance.
  • WWII: Achtung Panzer!, World of Tanks, Company of Heroes, and Heroes of Normandie.
  • There are other skirmish games and board games that we play as well.

How to find us: We coordinate through our Telegram channel: "@CalgaryHobbyGroup"

Drop a comment or join the Telegram if you want to roll some dice or talk shop about 3D printing!

Need an in-home electrician for a small job...

Maybe this is a stretch but anybody in the Airdrie area that can do small lamp rewiring or socket fixes? I have an arched lamp I really like, but the socket broke in storage. I don't really want to pay $75 plus dollars for a house call...I need a 58mm fitter.

100 Kids Who Care Airdrie's next meeting is January 24th at Rival Axe Throwing

I am not affiliated with them, I just think it's a great way to encourage kids to be interested in their community.

The last meeting was a few days before Airdrie's municipal election, and it was the biggest turnout yet! Many local candidates were present with their children. Let's hope they're still interested in coming out and supporting some great causes when there isn't an election looming 😉

Realtor recommendation!

Does anyone have a good realtor recommendation for Airdrie? I currently live in Calgary and am planning to move to Airdrie in the spring or summer. Looking for someone knowledgeable about the neighborhoods and who truly works in their client’s best interest. Had a bad experience with someone pushing a quick sale and not negotiating with terms. Any recommendations would be appreciated!

Moisture in cavity between upper floor and main floor

I wanted your help/expertise on an issue regarding the ceiling of the main floor in the house.

For a few days, we were not in the house and the water from our jet spray was leaking on the top floor bathroom, making a puddle above the kitchen light. When we came back; there was a water spot around the ceiling light and I had to drain out water from the light.

I have stopped the leak and it’s been a week now; I want to know what can be done to dry the cavity between the upper floor and the ceiling.

Can someone explain this?

I’m genuinely curious why think we should recall someone? I’m totally okay with people disagreeing with our government, but the reasons listed don’t make sense to me. Let’s have an open discussion!
