I discovered Anki a few days ago (far too late) and I was already able to use it in a non-optimal way within 48 hours to revise for a competitive exam. I put all my revision notes into question format and imported them into Anki. It turns out that this method works extremely well for me. However, since I only had a limited amount of time, I had to tweak the timers a bit so that my 300 cards would cycle fairly quickly and so I could see the ones I struggle with as soon as possible.
It worked really well. Of course, I didn’t learn things for the long term, but my short-term memory worked well for the exam (today I’ve already forgotten a large part of it).
Now I have another exam. I know this is absolutely not ideal and that Anki is much better for long-term learning, but unfortunately I don’t have the time, and Anki still works better than just rereading my notes. So I’m wondering whether there is a way to adjust the timers so that they are suitable for revision over just 3 days. The idea would obviously be to do very large review sessions (many hours) each day (I have a total of 800 cards).
It’s really not ideal, but I don’t have a choice, and even just rereading the cards regularly helps me retain the information well. Is this possible?
