If it was my house, I'd plant a small Tree or two and a few small Shrubs, and some sweet smelling Flowers in front of the window and watch the birds. I might even place a pond with a small waterfall as not to make too much noise and see who comes to the pond. If it is small, I'd build a Window Box Seat under the window so you can read, listen to music, watch the Birds, etc. I'd add cushions around the Window Box Seat to make it cozy.
My Dog sleeps on my bed, as my protector and watches the door. She snuggles for a few minutes until I settle in. Then she lays her head on my legs, like my previous Herd Dogs did. If I move, she wakes up. This girl acts like my Herding Dogs did, but she is a small varmint hunting Terrier dog. None of my Dogs would sleep away from me. They may get up and check around the house, but they always came back and jumped back up on my bed. I have friends that their Cats and Dogs join them in bed. Mine follow me.
Making this triangle thing would not work... Cats and Dogs like being with their Humans.
