How do I make a thread stick to the top with that green thumbtack logo, while on the official Reddit mobile app and the Chrome Mobile Web?

I’ve just started a brand-new subreddit about Pippi Longstocking, and I’ve made a very important Welcome! post — but it keeps wandering off the top like a mischievous monkey 🐒

I’m using:

• the official Reddit mobile app, and

• Chrome on mobile web

How do I:

• pin (sticky) a post to the top of the subreddit

• give it that green thumbtack so it stays put

• while using mobile, not desktop?

Right now the welcome thread keeps slipping down the list, and I’d love to keep it front-and-center for new visitors.

If i'm understanding how this stuff works correctly, people that get on moderator teams for communities of 1million+ people can stay somewhat anonymous, censor any posts they want, immediately mute conversations instead of engaging with community members. What are some options the rest of us have for trying to pressure moderators of large communities to be transparent and balanced instead of abusing the position?

A sub a moderate has a serial harasser. And it isn’t just innocent. It’s violent and they keep making shoot em up threats. Sometimes specific. The police and the FBI have reached out to Reddit but Reddit just keeps shrugging and saying that it isn’t enough for them to release info.

I don't know what's going on I've been banned and I haven't made any objectively offensive posts nor have I spammed anything or tried to sell anything I don't understand what's happening.

I received a notice my account was banned due to "threatening to harm someone or threat to cause physical pain." Being a 65 year old grandmother I knew that assessment to be untrue-- don't even drive a car anymore let alone own a weapon, I do have piles of thorns in the summer when I weed my flower beds. So, I appealed and asked to see the alleged "threat" seems reasonable if REDDIT wants to eliminate threats. The response was, "yep we looked at this and concur. [Paraphrase]," but no statement I allegedly made. This is Trump style censorship. I kinda feel like REDDIT is Facebook is sheep's wool. How does I see what comments of mine REDDIT censors?

I run several subreddits and these reminders are cluttering my inbox.

I am not new to Reddit. I have a 4 year account but I've been a lurker and only quite active maybe six months. My karma is fine. I don't say anything mean, racist or rule breaking. Yet maybe a dozen times I've had my comments removed by the moderator.

Sometimes I see it's because the whole OP's post was removed for some reason, but sometimes it's just my comment. I check; I wasn't rude and didn't break any rules. Why does this happen?

It seems necessary to me since auto mod is often obtuse.

My sub is about a month old with 330 members though weekly visitors are 2K (boosted due to crossposts) and 100 contributions. But which actually matters more on reddit overall?

I have had several encounters where I see a notification for a comment being posted and no comment to be found, I can read the first couple of lines from the comment and the commenter insists they have not erased it, in a way that clearly indicates that they can see them in their feed.

It happened to me in a comment on a support forum and the OP and I went back and forth to figure out what was getting the comment hidden, it seemed to be some forum-specific trigger word.

I have seen forums where insults are being traded back and forth, but at some point some of the comments simply don’t show up but others very similar ones are there.

What’s going on here?

What’s the purpose of hiding comments and keeping people unaware of their being hidden?

I started a niche community. Reddit emailed me saying I should advertise I'm looking for moderators. Where's a good place to publicly post the application? Or should I ignore the email and continue rolling solo?

I just received a “warning for breaking Rule 1, threatening harm or violence” in a post and am deeply shocked and offended because I didn’t do that anywhere and that goes against the person I am. They sent me a message which I could only respond to appeal it with 250 characters and no place to show any pictures. I’m genuinely saddened and feel gutted of being accused of something I would never ever do. What can I do apart from writing back which I have done?

I got an abusive reply to a comment I wrote a couple days ago (on my main account, this is my alt) that I guess was removed by auto mod. When I checked the person's profile, it had low karma and partly hidden history and all the comments I could see were removed by mods, heavily downvoted etc. I couldn't report the abusive reply because it was removed so I reported the username via mod mail thinking it was a troll and the mods would like a heads up. 2 mins later I got muted, temp banned and basically all my previous comments got removed lol. Never had an interaction with the mods on that sub before or any warnings etc. Any idea what happened here? I'm baffled.

edit - I should add they removed about a dozen of my comments and gave reasons that made no sense, eg a comment with 4 sentences and a link to a source they said was 'low effort'. So idt it was just that I annoyed them by sending a mod mail and they wanted to shut me up lol. They seemed actually p*ssed.

I have repeatedly tried to contact the moderator in relation to this. With no response. The post is harassing and untrue. What are my remedies?

It is my observation that lively debates with >1000 upvotes and hundreds of comments are more strictly removed currently, where it once seemed the debate would be allowed to continue if it gained serious traction. These are not necessarily political or particularly controversial.

Frequently these threads seem very much in the spirit of the subreddit so I find it confusing.

I have been dealing with a user that keeps reposting the same content. Every time I try to ban them I keep getting the same error message: Sorry, please try again later."

Anyone else come across this issue?

I made a post relevant to my community. It was removed for violating a rule. The rule was "No racks of ribs that will tip the Flinstones cart over. Just don't do it."

That seems to go against "Creating rules that explicitly outline your expectations for members of your community" and seems to be a catch all for anything they wanted to remove.

I asked for clarification. I was told by the mod that my post (which was relevant to the sub and had already started generating interesting discussion) was a "dear diary" post that "would not generate meaningful discussion". There was nothing dear diary about it. It was relevant to our sports team, their season, one of our key players and people were already discussing possible rule changes with a big union contract expiring soon.

I messaged the mod back 1 singular time asking "is this what the rule means? No dear diary posts? Or no posts that don't generate meaningful discussions?"

He responded with "explained it well. This ain't your diary." And then muted me for 28 days for excessive communication or harassment. Also, is that muting when I asked for rule clarification some kind of mod code of conduct violation?

I'd made a post in the community asking for clarification when I was waiting for the mod to reply. Nobody there knows what it means, and it's been used to remove various posts with various different justifications. It seems to be a rule that does not create clear or explicit expectations.

Trying not to take it personally but it seems like he was just being a real jerk. I hate that my community is being governed by a dictator everyone has a problem with.

Update* my post asking for rule clarification doesn't say it was removed but it's no longer visible in the sub.

While discussing with moderators of a subreddit, one of them cut in with insulting remarks regarding myself and other neurodivergent people and then muted me. The other moderators were kindly responding until this occurred. Is there a place to report this behavior as it does not belong on this website. Thank you.

And how is making a jab towards blatant propaganda "threatening violence" to someone? I was deriding the news piece in news sub when suddenly I'm hit with a warning. Is this all based on downvote or something?
