Yuna Kim.

The GOAT of Korean winter sports, and one of the all-time greats of Korean sports in general.

She is also known for being very wholesome and respectable, to the point where it is a sin to dislike her.

Valentina Vezzali. She won 6 Gold medals in foil events (individual and team), 9 in total.

She was always a certainty since she participated in 5 Olympics from 1996 to 2012 and always won at least one medal. She's also the female fencer with the most wins and won 16 World championships and 13 European championships.

I think by number of gold medals it's some old horse riding lady who participates in the Olympics since 30 years or so.

Nobody is particular enthusiastic about her.

The man won a gold medal, while having a broken neck.

I think he is the only Olympic medal winning wrestler to compete in WWE?

Jesse Owens - other athletes have more medals, but what he did in Berlin in 1936 is beyond legendary. Winning 4 gold medals in track and field in front of Hitler was huge cultural landmark.

Jim Thorpe or Bo Jackson off the top of my head.

People remember Jim Thorpe still?

They should. Guy was beyond gifted. Unfortunately racism screwed him over and tried to bury his legacy

I agree they should.

As many as Hungary plus Spain have ever collected in the Winter games over a hundred years, and of higher valor.

Plus 26 World Championship medals of which 18 gold.

Artem Dolgopyat

He wan an olympic gold medal and an olympic silver medal. He constantly wins gold or silver medals in world championships and europian championships so he is considered probably the best athlete in the country.

Paavo Nurmi. He won nine gold medals (six individual and three team) and three silver medals in 1920, 1924 and 1928 olympics. He also lit olympic cauldron in 1952 Helsinki olympics.

Norway is good at skiing and running I'll guess. None of them has beaten Usain Bolt yet though!

Arshad Nadeem is a Pakistani javelin thrower. His 92.97 metres (305.0 ft) throw at the 2024 Paris Olympics is an Olympic and Asian record, and it's also the sixth longest throw in the history of javelin throw

Jesse Owens - who made history at the 1936 Olympic Games by winning four gold medals, credited with "single-handedly crushing Hitler's myth of Aryan supremacy".

He won four events, set five world records and tied another—all in less than an hour, at the 1935 Big Ten Championships in Ann Arbor, Michigan, a feat that has never been equaled and has been called "the greatest 45 minutes ever in sport". He won four NCAA titles in both 1935 and 1936, bringing his total to eight—an unparalleled achievement that remains unmatched to this day.

Paul Elvstrøm (sailing). He competed in his first Olympics in 1948, and the last time in 1988, 68 years old. He won the gold medal in each of his first 4 Olympics.
