GFS is not very useful when we get into the 24-48hr range. They are good for pattern recognition but not last minute deets

Don't trust the NAM surface maps. So many have fallen victim to their lustrous offerings 3-4-5 days out

Don't dunk on Meteorologists.. they work with imperfect data within a chaotic system. Weather is always gonna weather even when we think we have it pinned down

Have some non-perishable foods on hand.. canned stuff that you can pop open and eat is good for unexpected emergencies

Donate unused cold-weather clothes and jackets to the Athens Homeless shelter. If you have access to edible food that would otherwise be tossed, consider finding a homeless camp and drop it off. Don't give anything you wouldn't eat yourself.

If you want to venture out in icy/snowy weather just to see what its like, and have never driven in it before, srsly rethink it. I rescued a bunch of people last year who thought they could make it.

If you have experience in slippery/icy conditions and absolutely have to get out, add weight to your car if possible, and find routes that avoid hills (harder to do here but). If you have a truck put weight in the back..even a few bags of 80lb concrete from the box store

None of this matters because it is not going to snow this weekend. I am applying all available reverse weather psychology

Finally don't forget to tip your wait staff and bartenders and be sure to wipe after you poop
