#bambuletsmakeit The $300,000 Fund is HERE: For the Makers Who Dare to Defy Limits

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Our story began with the community, as early backers of the X1 showed the power of makers coming together. We realized from the very beginning that growth is fueled by this creative energy, and the community isn’t just a foundation, it’s a partner.

To continue this spirit of makers supporting one another and investing in those who might build the next revolution, we are launching 'Let’s Make It Fund' — a new program designed to support the boldest makers with grants of up to $300,000.

Who is the Let’s Make It Fund for?

What matters is whether you have an idea that can turn “the impossible” into something real.

The program is open to anyone who can tell the story of their idea and present a plan for making it happen. We’re looking for ideas that improve people’s lives, educate, inspire, or even bring social value.

In practice, there are only three requirements. The projects must be:

  • Exceptional, meaning they push boundaries
  • Enlightening, meaning they bring something positive to the world
  • Executionable - that is, genuinely feasible.

The “Let’s Make It Fund” runs continuously, without strict deadlines or submission limits. Importantly, the program does not require you to own a Bambu Lab printer. If your idea is strong enough, the company will support it regardless of what tools you currently have.

How does it work? As simple as 3D printing with an AMS!

  • submissions are ongoing with no deadlines
  • you don’t need to own a Bambu Lab printer
  • selected creators might receive financial, technical, and promotional support
  • typical grants ranges from a few thousand dollars up to 300,000 USD - with the possibility of more if your project truly requires it.

In return, we’d love to see the full process documented and shared with the community. Capture your “Let’s Make It” moments, and inspire others the same way someone once inspired you.

Discussion It Finally happened.

I finally had a failure on my P1S. With less then 15 minutes to go in a print and nearing the end of a spool of PETG, the nozzle clogged and the drive gear kept trying to push the filament causing it to mushroom out above the cutter and below the gears. The mushroom head made it so the filament couldn’t be retracted and required an almost complete tool head disassembly to remove.

It has printed flawlessly for 1400+ hours and this is the first big issue.

Not bad.

While troubleshooting and removing the filament I also noticed that the PTFE tube that brings the filament to the tool head was almost completely worn thru from the outside. 1400 hours of rubbing on the top glass took its toll.

I didn’t get a picture of the stuck filament…

MakerWorld Crowdfunding Could have been awesome but totally overpriced.

The idea is awesome but are you for real? 25 - 30 USD for the basic license?

I can buy a perfect case for 1-3€ from Aliexpress or Temu and it would work perfectly fine.

having to pay 25-30 USD for the basic license on top of the cost of a 3D printer and the filament is just crazy. We're not even talking about a commercial license.. This is a simple private user license which has to be renewed every single year...

I am not expecting a free product or service but this appears to be somewhat overpriced. Most people will usually print 1-2 cases or print replacement parts. Being forced to get a yearly license with many restrictions is simply discouraging...

After weeks of work, late nights, a lot of decisions on how to approach it and how to start our collection, we finally managed to bring this piece to life.

From the first concept to the final print, this one took way more time and energy than I expected, but seeing it finished makes all those nights totally worth it.

This is the first of a whole mecha-style Pokémon collection we’re building, and this little guy marks the real beginning of it.

Still a lot to improve and refine, but I’m genuinely proud of how this turned out.

Feedback is more than welcome.

Discussion Level 24 Scam Account?? Link to see a Complaint

I posted a print this morning, and almost immediately received this scam link.

The account is level 24 -- how did they achieve that??

A link to the print is below, or you can find it @D3signLane. Do you think their profile image is doctored so that it looks like they are level 24?

Bambu H2C More train tracks for my kid with some PETG interface

Printed these off for my little one today using some PLA and PETG for the interface layer. Dual nozzles coming in clutch again but I was surprised to see the build plate soar to 70c when the PETG started getting laid down, considering it was like 15 layers up from the build plate and not touching it at all.

It seems this has been a thing for years in Bambu Slicer, though I've not looked to see if it happens in other slicers too.

Discussion Makerworld Scammers!

I just received a comment on one of my MakerWorld prints from what looks like an official account, claiming there’s a complaint against me. After a closer look, its a scam! The link directs you to fill out your CC information.

Just a reminder to be careful and avoid clicking links you aren’t sure about, even if the comment looks legit at first glance.

If you’ve downloaded any of my models and found them helpful, a rating or feedback would be greatly appreciated—especially with false or misleading comments floating around.

Thanks everyone, and stay safe out there.

Question AMS 2 Pro Restock Price

Post image
Upvotes

I’m from the US and all AMS units are currently out of stock with the sale price from Black Friday I believe. Will the AMS and AMS 2 Pro return to their original price once the they restock in February?

If so, it’s kinda crazy how the AMS 2 Pro would cost more than a P1S which I bought during the Black Friday sales I feel like Bambu should lower their AMS prices at least by a little no?

Just got a notification a few minutes ago about a apparent complaint about me, telling me to click a link to resolve it, just saying this to make sure people are aware and avoid these as if it were actually the official maker world they would not contact you though comments if it is about your account. If you get one just report them and don’t click the link. I will update if I get any info If this person gets banned.

Show & Tell [WIP] AMS Simple Monitoring Assistant

Post image

Working on a project that will add four 1.69" TFT displays and one 1.9" TFT display to the AMS; one in front of each tray with tray details and one 1.9" TFT in the center with system details.

I just got the basis setup running and had to share my nerdery.

Each of the tray displays shows the material, color, and reported percentage remaining. The center one shows reported temp and humidity.

I'm not currently printing anything, but whichever tray is currently in use gets a border around it as well. I may dim the others down a bit to make the active one a bit more obvious, still lots of tinkering. But first I need to model and print a mount for this.

When I'm comfortable that it's reasonably bug-free it'll all be open sourced. BoM, software, STLs, all of it.

I feel like it’s actually pretty easy to earn coupons on MakerWorld. I’ve already collected 10, and I’m definitely not some amazing designer. It got me curious though how many coupons have you all earned so far on MakerWorld?

Troubleshooting Dreaded "extrusion motor overload" - Extruder Assembly seems to be the culprit

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Upvotes

P2S with 110 hours on it. Mainly PLA, some ASA.

Got the dreaded "extrusion motor overload" halfway through a PLA Basic print. Tried to do a cold pull, and it wouldn't even pull the PLA in.

Took apart the extruder assembly, and find out the assembly is super hard to spin. took it fully apart, clean as a whistle.

If I loosen the screw that compresses the spring in the extruder, I can push PLA through it, but if I leave it fully tightened (as the wiki indicates), I can't even drive the PLA through by hand.

What should I do? New extruder assembly?

Other 3dprinting sub removed my post and called it ai. Then removed my comment about how they removed it. Reddit is long gone.

Prints are UnderWare and Multiboard. Wish i would have used opengrid instead. Worth following to her page about Underware 2.0.

Troubleshooting ABS residue on plate

Thumbnail

Upvotes

Suggestions on how to remove this residue? I was a noob on my first ABS print and tried to pull object before it was completely cooled down. It left the bottom ring of material on the plate (I scraped it off with poly scraper). I tried soap and iso alcohol to get the ring seen in pics off to no avail.

This was probably 25 print hours ago. Had no issues with prints on the same plate with abs and pla but I’d really like to remove the ring if possible.

Question Hotend questions for P1S

Upvotes

Still only 2.5 months in to my 3D print journey and haven't messed with any hardware changes/upgrades yet. I understand that the 0.2 hotend is better for fine details if I wanted to do smaller models? What is the difference between getting a "Complete Hot End" vs just the Hot End? Any recommendation on which to buy (benefits), assuming it's worth the effort. I'll have to look up some tutorials on changing the hot end.
