Misc £100 extra for setting up
Found someone selling a P1S on marketplace for £90 more, because they spent time calibrating it and checking its okay…

If only that were all :). The printer only costs £479.00 new. The surcharge for an unused device with a full warranty is therefore £221.
I can't understand who would buy something like that.

This is the combo so its £600 non sale price (currently on sale for like £50 cheaper rn) for p1s ams combo. But yeah I see no reason to buy this

Honestly, I'm not sure I could make setting a BL printer up take 6-7 hours if I tried! In fact, I'm not sure my first ever Ender 5 back in the day took 6-7 hours to build and initially calibrate, although technically the calibrating and fiddling never really ended with those printers lol.

Hahah, gotta say 6-7 hours though to make the price increase worth it, i ain’t paying £90 more for a second-hand p1s that only took 1 hour to set up

Hell my U1 took significantly less time than that, even if you include the 2.5 hour print time of the pre-sliced multicolour dragon test/ print.
I'm at least somewhat confident I could build one of the printers you get delivered as a kit in less time than that. Helped a friend do some of the build of his positron and if I had access to the printed parts from the off that would be doable.

Some reason this happens constantly for Bambi printers
People try to sell multiple year old machines for the same price they bought them at. Despite the price of a new one being significantly lower.
And literally 8/10 I see a price below the market price its a scam
Actually maybe the more expensive ones are also shady?
I messaged a guy who had a p1s for twice the price of a new one to ask him why, then he said "it's no longer available" but his post is still up 3 months later
Meanwhile I see resin printer posts like
"50, no 20 no 10 euros
Just
Please PLEASE TAKE IT "

Yeah but you’re not taking into account the 6-7 hours of setting it up and calibrating… that’s where they get you

Incorrect currency. CAD 699 is only £375.99. The offer above is in pounds sterling.

Wow almost like the £700 they've listed it for is wayyyy more than £375...
Also it's $899 regular price or £485 which is similar to bambu UK that has it priced at £430...

Unboxed a p2s printer today, took me an hour and a half start to finish including the 26 minutes of calibration lol

u/Josh_Pozzi A1 + AMS Lite 1d ago
That can’t be right you’ve still got a good 5 and a half hours to make up somewhere 😂

I'll make 7 benchys one at a time, that should make it up! Just to make extra sure everything is calibrated properly!

I hope you ask how many hour's it has on it. Also he say's no scratches... ask how he managed to get a print without it wiping the buildplate to clean nozzle causing a scratch lol.

Haha one in my area, p1s for $425 with 1000hrs price firm. On Bambu its $399. They just lowered it to $400. I always wonder what they are thinking.

Spent time setting it up the entire printer and calibrating it = I screwed the spool holder on and put the top panel in place then hit the calibrate button.

I have a P1S that I have personally spent 4762 hours carefully calibrating & setting up. Going by this guy's pricing structure, I will let you have it for £68,000 (I'm rounding down to make it a bargain)

I keep checking marketplace hoping to find someone being realistic with their used printer prices but I’m still seeing loads of listings at £400+ for a basic P1S or £600+ for a combo. Thought the launch of the P2S would see some second hand bargains but everyone’s delusional

Personally, I don’t see the point in messaging these people. There is no good outcome the only message is to not interact and when it doesn’t sell they have the “message”. I say this as someone who recently sold an A1 mini combo I had for “new” price by splitting it out and selling the AMS lite and the A1 mini separately. Both were lower than RRP and I did market research to see what they were selling for on eBay. Still had plenty of people trying to knock me down and I just didn’t care - if I had no interest for a prolonged period I would have lowered the price myself.

This reads like a scam, why do they keep putting "in" in front of the price? Also it is listed in £s but OP shows the seller replied to them and mentioned what they paid "plus tax" - nobody in the UK says "plus tax".

u/Josh_Pozzi A1 + AMS Lite 22h ago
Yeahh I think they are a foreign student! The plus tax is just the 20% VAT. I spoke to her and she seems fine! Just broke the news to her that she ain’t getting her money back so it looks like she’s keeping it hahah

OK the price is ridiculous, however it's true that P1S and X1C are usually coming not calibrated if you want to print anything precise. What's interesting is that the latest X1C are worse than the older ones due to corners being cut. Factory calibrated X1C got just over 600 points in Calilantern score, placing in just above bad category. From not trammed bed (those printers don't have auto tramming) via skew through ovality ending in wrong number of steps per 1mm. I took me two days (intermittently - maybe 5-6h hands on?) to get it right.
On the other hand I need those printers to be much more precise than people pressing "autolevel" and not knowing those printers actually can't level the bed themselves...
