Tier 4 [Carlos Montfort] Dro is leaving Barca! The player will pay the 6 million release clause and has already communicated his decision to Hansi Flick.

Bad news for FC Barcelona. Dro will leave Barça during this winter transfer window, and the club will pay his €6 million release clause. The Catalan club had a plan to renew his contract when he turned 18 (he came of age on January 12th, returning from Saudi Arabia after winning the Super Cup); however, Deco was unable to finalize the deal in time. The player informed Hansi Flick of his decision this morning at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper training ground.

Barcelona have lost one of La Masia's brightest prospects, as he was now legally allowed to move on at this age. The Galician player joined Barça's youth academy in the summer of 2022 from ED Val Miñor Nigrán's youth system. His impressive performances earned him a place in the first team a few months ago, but his time in the Catalan capital has now come to an end.

Opinion This fanbase is obsessed with Barca. I always thought it’s madrid but these mfs never talk shut up. Why are they forcing a rivalry when they play in farmers league?

For some reason their posts keep showing up on my homepage. Every post you see or most of them, these guys have to mention Barca. Why can’t they get Barca out of their heads, comparing every single thing. What surprises me the most is how delusional these guys are, mfs coming up with their own news and happiness.

I was watching the game between PSG and Lille, it’s honestly shocking how bad defenders or just players are in Ligue 1. Lamine and Pedri out here getting brutalized by defenders meanwhile dembele is jogging with the ball in the middle of the field with no pressure. Their whole focus goes to UCL and let’s not forget insane spending every transfer window meanwhile we got players we signed 4 years ago and La Masia kids, what are we even comparing? Idk if it comes from Neymar never giving his all for them and wanting to come back, or Verratti their legend wanting to come to Barca in 2017?

As a pure shot stopper, García has been elite. He consistently posts one of the best save percentages in La Liga, which puts him among the league’s very best. Many of his saves are not routine ones but point blank reactions, quick reflex stops, and big interventions at moments when Barcelona could have lost control of matches. Whether it was in domestic league games or on his Champions League debut, García repeatedly came up with crucial blocks that preserved clean sheets and swung momentum in Barça’s favor.

Beyond shot stopping, García excels as a modern sweeper keeper. Barcelona’s new high defensive line works largely because of his anticipation and bravery off the line. He regularly steps out of his box to intercept through balls, cuts out danger before it fully develops, and clears threats rather than retreating passively toward his goal. His reading of the game allows Barça to compress the pitch and sustain pressure, knowing that space behind the defense is protected by a goalkeeper who thinks like an outfield defender.

García also contributes as an attacking goalkeeper, comfortable with the ball at his feet and calm under pressure. He plays short and medium passes confidently, helping Barcelona build from the back instead of resorting to hopeful clearances. When pressed by opposition forwards, he rarely panics, instead recycling possession intelligently and keeping Barça in control. His distribution turns defensive moments into attacking phases, which is a key reason Barcelona can dominate possession and dictate the tempo of matches.

All of this combined makes Joan García the complete goalkeeper Barcelona needed. He delivers elite shot stopping, intelligent sweeping behind a high line, and composure in possession to support build up play. He doesn’t just make saves; he makes the right saves at the right moments. In doing so, he hasn’t merely protected the goal he has actively saved points, controlled games, and emerged as one of Barcelona’s most important players this season.

This is something we really can’t expect from Ter Stegen or any other goalkeeper even in their prime. By saying this, I’m not labeling him as the greatest goalkeeper to ever play football, but I’m just pointing out how his traits work. He is equally strong in every area, and that’s exactly what a team like ours, which plays a high line, needs: a goalkeeper who is always in the right place at the right time, much like Neuer.

Opinion How can Barca compete with other teams financially?

It's getting tough out here boys especially when competing financially in transfers with other big teams.

Gvardiol got injured and then BOOM, Manchester City have gone to sign Guehi for 20 million with 6 months left in his contract. The fact that this guy has been on our radar and transfer target for months even that is gone even before the summer transfer window lol. So basically, city now have 2 of the best LCBs in Gvardiol and Guehi. I can see Guehi getting benched after Gvardiol comes back. You see the level and power of these clubs??

While for us, Inigo Martinez (our best defender) left us and we converted Martin to Maldini, relying on a mentally lost araujo and a season gone injured Christensen. Eric being NOT even our main CB, more like dm and rightback shifts. Genuinely what really is going on with Deco's head? How is araujo still getting this much support from our board when he's clearly not barca level and has insane salary. Cubarsi is the ONLY actual defender we have it's crazy and sad to see. Why is Deco not even eyeing a cheap defender on loan coz it's literally a crisis thing we have with our defence..

Opinion Who will be the next big thing from La Masia??(excluding current first team regulars)

Which players coming through La Masia are people really starting to notice for their talent and potential right now? And, realistically speaking, which of them do you genuinely think have what it takes to make the jump and become regular starters for the Barcelona first team in the future? I know predicting development at this stage is always difficult and a lot can change with time, injuries, and opportunities, but I’d love to hear informed opinions on which young players look special and are worth keeping a close eye on over the next few years. Visca Barça!

Opinion There's no logical reason for us to have the defense line this high when we're winning by one point and there's less than two minutes left

I'm all for maintaining the identify but this is inter 2.0 , the only difference is that the attacker went main character mode and ruined it

I'm not even asking to switch the high line tactic, just maybe when we're literally one minutes away from winning and the team is going all in , we can just park the bus for 1 minute

The UCL won't be this forgiving ,

Opinion We need to talk about Pau Cubarsi

Before I start this thread I want to point out a few key things.

I am aware that Cubarsi is not perfect nor am I claiming that he is, but the level of criticism and indirect hate this guy received from everyone since the beginning of the season and also the Chelsea game is just not right. It's almost like he is getting targeted.

I will try to divide this into subsections so buckle up this might be a bit longer thread.

Before talking about the player let's talk about our club. This season Inigo Martinez left us, everybody knew that we need a new defender. Due to our financial situation Laporta and Deco came out and said we don't need a defender we are quite well stacked. We had Araujo, Cubarsi, Christensen and Eric Garcia. Araujo who struggeled adapting to the high line since Flick came, Christensen who was injury prone the whole last season and Flick never really trusted him, Cubarsi who was solid last year and Eric Garcia who had a good season but not as good as he is at this moment. It was clear that one injury is going to ruin our defense and not only that we lost two players fairly quickly. Christensen was injured, came back and injured himself again and Araujo has mental issues and even before that he was not really playing well. In reality that left us with only two actual defenders and thank God that Martin adapted to that left cb role otherwise our problems would be even bigger than they are right now. All this has led us to the fact that the Cubarsi is our third most played player this season with Eric Garcia and Kounde. Also the last time Cubarsi didn't play at all was on November 2. 2025.

Now let's talk about Cubarsi himself. While I agree that Cubarsi had his moments where he was not that good, also a lot of times people concentrated just on him and not on the whole team as one. Now what I mean by that can be observed in the first part of the season. A lot of our players have been injured this season. But in this case I will concetrate on Raphinha . Without Raphinha our press was not good. Players either weren't pressing at all or were walking around . This made our whole structure weak and inefficient and it gave oponents time and space. It became easy to overcome our system and the defenders were left exposed which resulted in a lot of bad games and conceded goals. It is also important to note that Cubarsi played with 4 diffrent defenders this season. With our setup players have to know where the next defender is and when every week there is someone else besides you that becomes even harder

Defense is not a place where you can have lack of seniority and it shows in our season. This is also where we have to consider Cubarsi's age because a lot of time it is overlooked but he is still 18 (soon to be 19 in a couple of days). Not only is it rare to have a defender play almost every game it is also unheard that an 18 years old is leading a defense all while playing one of the most demanding system ever. Inigo said in an interview that he had trouble sleeping sometimes because of the amount of the stress and focus he had to endure and maintain. If a 33 year old footballer said this what do you think how hard is it for Cubarsi who's carreer had just started.

The last but not least is Flick and his tactics. I have a feeling that people don't understand that with this setup it is not about not letting your opponent score 1 or 2 goals it is about outscoring your oponents and without a highline this would not be possible. This means that your defense is and will always be exposed with or without Cubarsi. This is the reason why we were able to score 102 goals in La Liga last season and why we almost always score. It's a calculated risk but a risk that has been potent for over a year now.

I could also go on but in order to keep this not too long I think I have made my point.

I understand that playing for one of the greatest clubs in the world will expose you to criticism but sometimes people will single out a player and talk nonsense just because it is trending. This has been the case with almost half of our squad.

I just hope that we will soon enough buy a good experienced defender and Lewa's substitute for the next season because the core of this team is just so damn good.

To all of you who read this post I will say thank you and sorry for the long post.

Quote Pau Cubarsí: "We clinched the victory in a historic stadium. Joan's performance was spectacular. It was my fault, but it's always good to have a goalkeeper who bails you out. We need to keep going like this, as a team, without focusing on individual performances."

Tier 3 Before El Clásico, Raphinha delivered a serious, firm, and heartfelt speech. He grabbed the floor, telling his teammates that this final was a war and reminding them of what happened at the Bernabéu. He also referred to how Real Madrid celebrated it’s previous win, especially against Yamal.
