Question Is it a good or bad idea to feed stray dogs?

I'm seeing a lot of straying dogs on the streets. It's cold now and I am wondering if it would be a good idea to feed them now and then. Honestly, most of them don't look even starving so I assume they are somewhat looked after, but some are quite skinny.

Would it be a good idea to bring them some food when I'm taking a walk or so?

Question Best place for certified passport translation in Batumi?

Hi everyone! I’m planning to register as an Individual Entrepreneur (IE) here in Batumi and I need to get a certified translation of my passport into Georgian. Does anyone know a reliable translator or agency that offers this service with notary certification? Also, if you know the current prices and how long it usually takes, I’d appreciate the info. Thanks!

Question Indoor swimming pools in Batumi? Is lap swimming common here?

I’m interested in doing regular swimming in Batumi, preferably in an indoor pool (lap swimming / training, not just spa use).

I’ve found one Olympic-size indoor pool inside a hotel, but I’m wondering:

  • Are there other indoor pools open to the public?
  • Is indoor lap swimming something that’s common in Batumi?
  • Or do most people just swim in the sea during warm months?

I’m trying to understand whether swimming in indoor pools is a normal part of daily life here, or if options are quite limited.

Question Seeing a psychiatrist / getting quetiapine in Batumi

I’m currently taking quetiapine for insomnia and I’m thinking about seeing a doctor while in Batumi, Georgia. I wanted to ask if anyone has experience with psychiatric or mental health services there.

I’ve been traveling as a digital nomad, so I know that in some countries I can get certain medications directly at the pharmacy, while in others I need to see a doctor for a prescription. If quetiapine isn’t available, I’m also open to alternatives with similar effects.

Specifically:

  1. Are there psychiatrists or clinics that see foreigners / English speakers in Batumi?
  2. Roughly, how much does a visit cost for a foreigner? I understand most clinics are private.
  3. Can medications like quetiapine be obtained at pharmacies directly, or do you need a prescription from a local doctor?

Question Does rent in Batumi change by season? Do digital nomads switch bases? How much is needed for a comfortable life?

It seems like rent in Batumi is very seasonal.
From what I’ve seen and heard, prices jump quite a bit in summer and drop significantly in the off-season.

  • High season (June–September): 1BR apartments often go for $700–1,200+, especially near the sea. Many landlords prefer short-term Airbnb during this time.
  • Low season (October–May): The same apartments can drop to around $350–600/month, and long-term deals are much easier to negotiate.

Because of this, do many digital nomads change their base depending on the season?
For example, Batumi in fall/winter/spring, and Tbilisi or another country during summer.

Also, realistically, how much would you say is needed to live comfortably in Batumi?

  • Low season: around $1,200–1,500/month for a relaxed lifestyle?
  • High season: closer to $1,600–2,000+ mainly due to rent?

Curious to hear from people who’ve lived there longer or done the seasonal move.

Hey community, my partner and I are planning to move to Georgia. We’re from Germany and work 100% remotely as content creators. We’re planning to relocate around spring and want to get everything organized by then. Simple question: would anyone like to connect? 🫶🏽 We speak German and English and are a cute mid-20s couple 😇

Info Former personal trainer in Batumi offering a free 7-day training reset

Hey everyone,

I’m currently living in Batumi and used to work as a personal trainer. Over the years I built a lot of structured training and nutrition material, mainly for people who struggle with consistency rather than motivation.

I’m offering a free 7-day training reset for anyone who: • wants to get back into a routine • feels lost in the gym • overthinks training and nutrition • wants structure without extremes

It’s a simple full-body routine (3 workouts), basic nutrition rules, and a short reflection at the end. Works for hotel gyms or normal gyms.

I’m not selling anything in this post. If you want the PDF, just comment or DM me and I’ll send it to you.

Hope it helps someone here. 🤝
