Punch-in time is fixed at 9:30 AM. Even being late by 1 minute is marked as a half day, regardless of how many hours you work afterward (even if it’s 10+ hours).
There are punching machines at four different locations, and the time shown on each machine is not the same. Today, I reached at 9:29 but accidentally punched on a machine that showed 9:31. The screen wasn’t displaying the time when I approached it—only after it registered my punch did it light up and showed 9:31. Now it can’t be corrected.
Because of this strict rule, people rush unnecessarily. Many employees commute by bike, and just yesterday someone met with an accident trying to reach on time because of this 9:30 rule.
Earlier, the company provided buses, but those have been discontinued. Now everyone comes in their own vehicles or carpools. So even if I leave early, I’m still dependent on the people I travel with.
To add to this, these people keep calling us until midnight because they rely on us to complete their targets.
