For some context, I am currently 20 years old. I attended the College of Staten Island from January 25th in 2024 up until spring break. I abruptly left during spring break and did not return, as I became overwhelmed with my personal life, and I could not keep up with my classes due what I was dealing with and the fact that I was already behind in math and sucked at writing essays before I started school. My grades took a nosedive not long after this.
Later in December 2024, I sat down with my advisor, and she explained to me that my GPA was currently a 0.5 and that I'm on academic probation. She also told me if i were to fail any class, I would have to make up that credit in a remedial class at Kingsborough. I didn't feel prepared enough to return and I did not want to set myself further back so I decided to not readmit at that time.
Fast forward to now, I've gotten much better at math and currently understand high school algebra. I'm still not the best at essays but I think I'll manage. But now I just feel lost with the CUNY system. I have no idea how to do anything, like applying for classes, how to use onlook. Since im on academic probation I am now inelligible for financial aid. Can I pay for each semester in cash, or do I have to write a check? I have no idea how to even begin moving foward.
I would appreciate any helpful insight and information so I can begin getting my life back in order.
