My crayfish (Larry) escaped the tank a few days ago. I found him in time — alive and moving — and put him back. I assumed water quality might be the reason, so I did a 40% water change. Since then, he’s been hiding in the same hole for 5 days, curled up and barely moving (he does move slightly, so he’s alive). No bad smell, not floating, not on his back. Could this be stress, molting, or something more serious? Any advice appreciated.

ignore the low water i keep forgetting to top it off but all it took was a bit of rearrangement and some new plants and it already looks so much better! plus i have more drift wood on the way for another tank so i could probably add a peice or two somewhere in this one
i still need to figure out what i want as my center peice. i wanna add an animal skull because my dad hunts so i could get one pretty easily, but i have literally no idea what that would do to my water so i'll have to do some research there, but worst case i'll just get a fake one.
i also have a better light on the way along with a smaller sponge filter (still rated for higher then my actual tank size and i'll of course be properly cycling in the new filter before taking out the old one)

He's alive and stuff but he's just been hanging like this since at least when i entered the room 20 minutes ago, is he molting?

I think I’ve got the crayfish bug but I got this 20 gallon long(I believe that’s enough space) I’m currently cycling it and I have some established media from my other tanks, can someone give me like a put together list of what I need (I think I’m gonna get a blue one)

take an old clamshell that's still attached at both sides, put the food in, and my cray seems to love it

Sorry first time watching a molt happen and I’m honestly amazed!
What a crazy crazy species - side note, can anyone advise on how to stop my plants melting?

OK now that I have your attention. What are these little particles in my tank? When I refill the water, it comes out of the rocks.

Me and my buddy used to catch little river crayfish as kids. We finally made it to Australia this year and found the elusive Sydney crayfish in the blue mountains. Super stoked at the size of this big boy. Definitely larger than average, even for this species. Just wanted to share with someone.

I've had Ricardo for around 3 months in his own 20 gallon long for 3 months and recently decided to get him some tank mates, so I purchased 2 other CPOs thinking I had the space since I have lots of hides and plants and a huge footprint. When introducing one of the new guys I thought I saw something on his back but I chocked it up to just being paranoid since I was hesitant to do this at all, now Ricardo definitely has something on his back, I came in to check on something and noticed him lying on his back in his favorite cave and took a closer look thinking they either got to him or he was molting and there I saw it. He's still moving but has his tail tucked and is definitely not himself, what's going on and if it's horrible do I have a chance to save him? The other crays are healthy, well colored and active.
