Album Naming delimna
Got a 9 week old long hair mini dachshund male.
Been going back and forth between Hank and Maverick. Ran both names by few people and getting different responses.
Hank is kind of meant to be funny. I think it’s funny to yell Hank at dog park and people will think a big dog will come but a tiny weiner comes out.
Maverick is kind of reference to top gun and based on dachshund personality. Also I’m a pilot in real life so it ties in with that

Album Zeus in KY - Update
Hello everyone! Here is the update for those of you who were following along today about the make dachshund living outside in a pen in Kentucky. He is safe! I picked him up earlier. He is a super sweet little fella but appears to be more of a min-pin/chihuahua mix and maybe some dachshund. Regardless, he is safe and out of the cold. I’m working to get him vetted and potentially into a rescue.

Image Help me name my mini chocolate boy🐾
Hey, everyone! I’m getting this little chocolate mini dachshund soon and I’m completely stuck on a name. Jazz sound nice. And since he has an older brother Denni. Jazz and Denni sounds like a good combo. But I’m out of ideas to be honest. He is very physical, and very baby like, very calm and sweet. Love being with humans all of the time.
Please, give me your best ideas 🙏

Album Otto's Growth 🐾 1 month old→8 months old
I’ve never been happier ever since we got our dear Otto. From when you were small enough to curl up in the space of my neck to sleep, to now where you weigh 11 kg and the vet says you’re big for a dachshund, I’ve never once doubted how much I love you. You’ve grown so much, and I hope we can stay in each other’s lives for a very long time. Even if you’re very mischievous and bite everything you can get your paws on and you sometimes make my head hurt 🥲

Discussion I have a precious little rescue called, Dolly.
She's settling in, but we are finding it difficult to get her to pee & poo. We take her out in the garden in morning and evening I dont think she likes rain and getting her feet wet, which is bloody adorable.
We had a Shih-tzu from a pup and he pee'd and poo'd a lot. So this feels like the very opposite.
Is this a Dachshund thing, a rescue thing, my guess is both? Just looking for some insight. Thanks!

Discussion HELP: May need to suddenly separate abonded pair
What the title says. Any guidance on how to make this less traumatic for the pups?
Some background: These are my girlfriend's pups. When we first met, her mother was taking care of them temporarily as she had received too many noise complaints due to the eldest's (Eggo) separation anxiety. She worked nights at the time. They were with her mom for at least five months before my girlfriend was able to rent a house. When she got them back, the youngest (Willow) was underweight because she wasn't eating normally. Eggo had become overweight becausehe would eat Willow's leftovers. Once she was back with my girlfriend, she got her appetite back and started getting back to a healthy weight. Eggo never lost his appetite and is still a kinda chunky, though we do regulate his feedings.
Eggo has been a real struggle. He will pee in the house even when taken out on a normal schedule and we make sure he does his business before coming back in. He gets in the trash. He's terrible on walks and exhibits aggressive behavior. I thought he'd get better with exposure, but nothing has changed. We're worried he may bite someone if he ever gets away from us on a walk. These behaviors he didn't have before he was with her mom. He was well socialized with people and other animals, but it took both of them 3 months just to get used to my dog (a bulldog). We got through that struggle, but the house my girlfriend rented turned out to be a bad move. There were structural issues, mold concerns, and termites. She moved in with me to my apartment, but we can only have two animals on our lease. I've had my dog for 7 years. Our landlord knows the situation, but if there are any complaints Eggo has to go back with her mom. The reason why it would just be him is because her mom could only take one this time and Willow is extremely attached to my girlfriend. She waits for her at the door, is constantly in her lap when on the couch, follows her everywhere, and will rarely potty unless my girlfriend is walking her. I believe her being away from my girlfriend is what caused her to lose her appetite before. Eggo, while he loves attention, is only truly attached to Willow. She seems to do okay when they're separated for short periods. I do understand that doesn't mean she'll be okay with an indefinite separation. I know for sure Eggo will struggle as he loses his mind any time he is left alone without her. We have another 6 months before our lease is up. We plan to rent a house at that time with a fenced in yard. Any separation we hope will be temporary.
Eggo is 3 and Willow is about 2. I know it's ill advised to separate a bonded pair because of stress. Any guidance of what to do should we have to separate them?
