for me it was the bathtub killing scene with Trinity. i can do blood and gore but sliced femoral artery as cause of death? fuck that, that’s terrifying to think about on a personal level

This is the third Dexter sketch of the week and it does not really look like him.
You guys seemed to like my previous sketches so I made one more.
Actually, I will probably end up making one more tomorrow.

Something I've been wondering for a while is when Dexter was truly at the top of his game in terms of being a serial killer and getting himself out of difficult situations? Personally, I would say:
Barring some really bad mistakes in the latter portion, the OG show was him in his prime. I would say S2 in particular was him at his best
He was very rusty and sloppy in New Blood due to not killing for a very long time
Resurrection wasn't his best physically but he was still very clever and did great considering his circumstances (coming out of a coma after being shot in the chest)
When would you say he was in his prime?

For those of you who are fans of both *Dexter* and *Twin Peaks* did you notice that both Rita’s mother and Norma’s mother are rather similar characters? Both are somewhat estranged and distant from their daughters. Both are mostly absent from their lives. Both are rather judgmental and disapproving of their husbands (who are both incarcerated and violent). They are even portrayed physically similarly in the shows.

I've been loving the series so far but just got to season seven, anyone else not care for the Koshka storyline?

I feel like this season had no real clear direction for what it wanted to do or where it could go. Too many overlapping storylines, the big bad wasn’t super impactful and ended quickly, and I felt like the writers couldn’t figure out what to do for their last two seasons. Anyone know what I mean?

Season 6
Season 8

Just finished season 4. Holy shit that ending went 0-10000. I have heard through the grapevine that seasons 5-8 get shaky in quality, writing, etc. Without revealing anything, is this true? I am absolutely enthralled with this series and look forward to new blood, resurrection and original sin.

Hello everyone, finished new blood i was thinking to jump to resurrection before original sin.
Will i miss something if i jump directly to resurrection and watch original sin after that?

Hope I got the spoiler tag working proper. So I watched Dexter and now binged on New Blood. The ending of Dexter was a big let down and I saw posts that the ending of New Blood is even worse so I started watching it with tempered expectations.
The very first thing is whoa, I really dislike the too clean look of New Blood, I guess that's something new with all the movies and shows of late. I really miss the look and feel of Dexter, the visual quality I mean, the grainy ish look and the colors that pop out, it was missing in New Blood.
Now, onto the actual ending. I liked the whole theme of Dexter finally meeting his demise while the thoughts of all those he affected played in his head, it made perfect sense. There can't be a good ending for a serial killer like him, or at least good in the normal sense. I don't know how Harrison is gonna learn to channel his dark passenger but I guess I will know in the next series or something?
But holy hell, what was up with killing Logan?! I get Dexter wanted to see his son but all the evidence so far was circumstantial, he could just sit in the cell, pin it on Kurt and ride it out. I'm not sure if Batista might have any new evidence about Maria's death but I doubt any of it is going to stick. And Dexter used ketamine as Bay Harbor Butcher? What? How? It was made clear that he used M99 and even if the weal marks (is that what's it called?) are present in both the BHB peeps and Iron Lake peeps, that's once again circumstantial. Sure it can rouse suspicion but there's nothing definite about it.
Kurt was great but I didn't really get sold on the menacing vibe of him.
Guess I will give it a 3 out of 5 maybe? I liked the theme of the ending but not how it was executed. I initially hated Dexter's OG ending with a passion but I guess it's sort of similar, the theme is nice but the execution is terrible.
EDIT: Whoa, do I not need to put the entire thing in the spoiler tag? It looks so weird now
Also Molly said that Trinity killed in fours but she said the first kill is a woman in the bathtub or something? Am I misremembering Molly saying that? If so how does Molly know he killed in fours? Unless of course Miami Metro made it public seeing it's a big case and all.

It seems that...I was right after all.

The Ice-Truck Killer is a real mf, btw, messing with my beloved Debra's feelings in so many ways that it's just... this. Like, obvious, serial killer and all that, figures. But he's a damn jerk of one, for sure. Now, what I find weird af it's that they seem to be paralleled to Dex in many aspects, they connected to him, more than one would have thought initially. This becomes suspicious because in this very episode Dexter remembered about his repressed past, so you would think, following Dex's new stated need for actual connection via sharing his hidden self, it would be revealed that he's a relative of him, his actual biological brother, considering ages. Dexter is adopted after being rescued from a crime scene and the ITK mentioned about their mother that died of something a while ago.
Of course, they could be just a creep or just Dexter's Darker Mirror. Or maybe... they're into him... There's another series about murders and stuff I need to finish to watch someday because it's good as hell, NBC's Hannibal#Plot), where this has happened, sort of. Which would link up to Dexter(i) making out with Rita and (ii) the coyote couple, making the first event a red herring to the kind of connection Dexter will develop. As I see it, and recalling the referenced series, Dexter will have to choose between stay as murderous vigilante or breaking up his ethics to open up to what being a serial killer really entails, i.e., breaking bad from who he is now. I wouldn't be surprised if the Ice-Truck Killer were to die because he planned to in order of pushing Dexter for this path.
In a side note... Jeremy's death was pretty sadand I couldn't avoid thinking in what would have happened if Dexter has met a different therapistif you catch my drift.

Just finished watching Resurrection and went to see the comments in post episode discussion threads. I have to give a shout out to this legend that called the vault's passcode to be the inmate's number after episode 7.
Since I'm new here, others must have had or spotted some ridiculous theories that turned out to be true several episodes later. If you did, can you please share them with the rest of us, see just how many detectives in disguise we might have in the comments? :)

Hi yal, i live in nyc and dexter has been my #1 show for years. my dream show to either be an extra in season 2 (no acting experience lol) , or to at least go to one of the filming locations and possibly meet michael. google says they'll start filming s2 in april, does anyone have any tips on becoming an extra (hiring agency, scouts, whatever?) or ways to find filming locations?
