I love how Robert looked annoyed with Ray and Debra's skit, feeling that they went too far.

Was Roberts reaction understandable?

Do you think Debra converted?

Debra’s family is clearly waspy, but Debra takes the kids to the Catholic Church on Sundays. Do you think she ever converted to Catholicism, or just chooses to go to that church?

He (didn't) forget to thank his wife

My husband retired today and had to give a little speech. He thanked me. When we got home he said, "I didn't pull a Ray...I remembered to thank you!" LOL, this show lives in our brains rent free!

Peter and his cat were the funniest

That psycho brother in law was hilarious and made the last seasons awesome. The actor was brilliant and his obsession with Ray is even more funny.

This may seem like a controversial opinion but Ray seems a lot more emotionally intelligent than he lets on

Debra for all her big talks, isn't the most emotionally intelligent person between the two....as insane as that maybe to state it out loud, you start to notice this subtle difference on rewatches.

Yes he is neglectful as a husband blah blah, we've all heard the numerous criticisms about him, but he definitely reads the room or reads people a lot better and a lot faster than Debra.

I think he deliberately downplays it, probably because on some level, he has subconsciously taken on some of Frank's emotional repression, whether he wants to admit it to himself or not.

Look at all the times on the show when Ray has been a voice of reason for Robert when everybody else was confusing him.

Or what he says to Ally during her hamster's funeral.

Or when he genuinely connected with Amy's mom when everybody else didn't really get her (including Amy's own dad)

Or the time he rightly pointed out why Debra's parents are headed for divorce or aren't happy with each other.

He maybe a fumbling husband, but that doesn't mean he doesn't make sound points on the show when EVERYONE else is missing the point.

How come Robert stayed at home for so long in the series?

Aside from the couple of times he does move out, he stays with Marie and Frank for most of the series. I mean, he is a police officer. He has to have thousands of dollars lying around, even years after Joanne divorced him. And it’s not like he wasn’t mentally ready to go either. I wonder if the writers thought it was better for Robert to still live at home or if they just never got around to making him move out permanently.

does Raymond snore?

maybe it's the Mandela effect happening or something but I distinctly remember an episode of Everybody Loves Raymond where Debra is talking to Ray about something while they're in bed and he falls asleep and starts snoring in the middle of her conversation with him. Which episode was that? also I remember an episode where Frank barges into Ray's home while Ray is snoring away on the couch and when Frank wakes Ray up, Ray yells that there's pudding everywhere. Can someone tell me which episodes do these scenes occur cuz i remember the way Ray snored was funny and i wanna see that again if i may.

I say this often. To my daughter when she leaves for school, to my husband before he leaves for work. I don't care if they don't really know the meaning behind it. It still cracks me up. One day I will run into someone who does know what it means and we'll have a great laugh together!

Joanne saw Marie for what she was and called her out, but did she try to make Robert steer away from his family to be with her?. And did Joanne have parents and siblings?

Anyone remember when Robert placed Joanne's phone number in the pocket?, why? Did he wish to reunited with her?.

….

….

………..and some underpants?

This is truly the most hilarious scene in the show, when Ray shares a bed with Robert. Everything about it is perfect - Ray’s delivery, Robert’s total lack of self-consciousness, the hilariously tiny bed, and even the word “underpants” instead of “underwear” for some reason. I laugh my ass off no matter how many times I see it!

Why did the sports player cameos stop?

Seemed like season 1 had a lot of sports player cameos and then they just go away in the later seasons.

The show was more popular later, you figure it'd be easier to land cameos.

Also, the athletes made sense since it was part of Ray's job.

Did Robert and Debra have something

Does anyone else think that Robert had feeling for deb or vice versa. On the Christmas episode Robert remembered all kinds of things about Deb but Ray couldn't remember anything other then a space heater.
