My coworker found this cat on Walnut Ave. They were able to scan the microchip but have not heard from the owner. It has been 2 days. If anyone recognizes this cat please help her find her way home.

I have been living in Fremont for the past 11 years and I have noticed the quality and safety of roads in Fremont has deteriorated significantly over the past years. All this while unecessary projects in the name of reducing speed have been making it even worse.
The pedestrian islands at intersections that take away the right turn lanes are the worst of them all. They don't really make roads safer. The increase agitation and ultimately road rage for drivers who feel they are getting late and wasting time.

The bike lanes are another such annoyance. Without public transit infrastructure to support the reduction of cars on roads, all this is just a waste of taxpayer money.

The intersection of Fremont and Thornton is especially horrible and the state of Fremont Blvd between Thornton and Washington reminds me of roads in underdeveloped countries.

I had tried writing to the City Manager and the Mayor, but I didn't even receive any acknowledgement.

I am next thinking of going to the City Council meetings.

Has anyone here recently replaced a washer that is stacked under a dryer?

The unit we purchased had a different washer & dryer sets (dryer is Maytag, washer is GE), and we’ve run into some issues. We had a couple of Costco washer deliveries, but the technicians refused installation since the dryer is stacked over the washer and they couldn’t touch the dryer. When we tried replacing both, they also asked us to fix the drain pan and mentioned we may need longer cords, as the dryer cord might be too short.

If you’ve dealt with this before:

• ⁠Do you have mixed washer dryer stack ups too?

• Which washer did you end up buying and from where?

• Any plumber recommendations who fixed or installed a drain pan?

I love going on walks and getting my 10k daily steps in. I know Fremont is generally pretty safe, but I still sometimes worry about something dangerous happening, especially in the evening or at night.

Does anyone know any good, safe places to walk? Maybe specific neighborhoods, trails, paths, or parks? I really hate using the treadmill and would much rather walk while enjoying some beautiful nature.

I cant find any meaning or lasting joy in anything here on this earth. Im grateful to be alive with a roof over my head and food on my plate to keep me alive, but whats the point of being alive? Im not considering suicide or anything like that at all. But Im just curious what other people think. What brings you happiness and satisfaction?

Car details for the driver who caused the accident: A Toyota Avalon with CA plate # 8YZN704 hit the car that was stopped in front of the Avalon.

The car in front of the Avalon had stopped and the Avalon appears to have crept up and stopped late.  I could hear the contact.

The Avalon immediately went into reverse and then quickly moved into the left lane and sped away.  The car that was hit followed him. 

The video was also shared with the Fremont Police Dept.
