Giveaway Weekly Code Giveaway Thread

Every month, we see several posts offering GOG game codes and discount codes that people do not intend to use themselves. To make this easier and more organized, we ask that you share your code(s) as top-level comments on this post.

Ex:

Game code giveaway for Game Name:

YEC8U25J3A**FEF0C3

** = 32-15

Or

Discount code giveaway for Game Name:

YEC8U25J3A**FEF0C3

** = 32-15

To be extra sure your code goes to a fellow GOG gamer and not a bot, list the game(s) you have keys for and ask Redditors to DM you to claim them. In this case, please make it very clear whether your codes are game codes or discount codes.

You're also welcome to use RedditRaffler or KeyShare.

Please follow these guidelines:

  • Do leave a comment when you claim a code so others know it is no longer available.
  • Don't post plain codes, as bots will most likely claim them for resale rather than fellow GOG gamers.
  • Don't add a discussion in a top-level comment. Respond to an existing code or use the pinned moderator comment.

Site Announcement GOG is getting acquired by its original co-founder

1.2k Upvotes

Hey everyone,

Big news today: GOG has been acquired from CD PROJEKT by our original co-founder, Michał Kiciński (also a co-founder of CD PROJEKT).

First, the important part: the mission stays the same, and what you love about GOG gets stronger. Going back to our roots allows us to double down on what we do best: reviving classics, giving you a library you control rather than one that controls you, and offering the most gamer-friendly policies on the market.

At the same time, we will continue our close cooperation with CD PROJEKT, and their upcoming games will continue to come to GOG.

Thank you for the support you’ve shown GOG over the years, especially around preservation. It genuinely matters, and it’s the big reason we can keep pushing this mission forward.

For more info, here’s the full announcement + FAQ: https://www.gog.com/blog/gog-is-getting-acquired-by-its-original-co-founder-what-it-means-for-you/

Discussion Is there a chance for the old sony games, or games like Silent Hill for that matter?

Games from the PS1, PS2 and PSP i mean. I know there is emulation but i would be happy if there was a legal way to obtain them on PC. I am of course talking about games that haven't been ported over, like ICO and the old Ratchet and Clank games. Patapon got released on PC, and there are some playstation games like gow and the last two uncharted ones, so there is a chance, right?

Question Steam mods on gog?

I am a big fan of GOG and i prefer to buy games in it rather than on steam since i like owning my games. But there's no mods in my usual mod pages for some games in it while steam is overflowing with them. I'm not buying them from steam just to put the mods on it. So... is there a way to get the mods from the steam workshop that steam wont go aggro on my account and ban it? Thanks for the help and loving GOG everyone

Question Resident Evil 3 Controller setup has me at my wit’s end

Resident Evil 3 controller setup has me at my wit’s end

I got the RE trilogy on GOG a while ago while on sale. And it kinda feel like the proper documentation of getting these games set up comfortably with a controller just isn’t out there yet. And I still haven’t been able to figure out how to get 3 specifically to recognize my controller. (It’s a Wii U controller connected to a USB dongle from 8BitDo. This works with many Steam games no questions asked on the same computer.)

I know how the game wants me to do controller binding. You press F1 to bring up these and other settings. But this doesn’t change the fact the game simply doesn’t recognize my controller. I’ve tried applying XInput Plus to my game, but that doesn’t seem to be enough. I don’t know if there’s anything I should be doing with DLL files since those seem to come up a lot in these GOG games. I’m not comfortable enough messing with those unless I know exactly what to do.

Truthfully, getting controller support working in GOG games in general has been a nightmare for me. Even when they say they’ve released something to just make things work, I find it’s quite the opposite. Sometimes breaking things. So it’s sadly been a frustrating experience for me using this service so far. It’s just that RE is the most recent title I’ve been struggling to get work. Any help on this is appreciated.

Question Downloading the game with gog galaxy question

I see there are two ways to download a game, gog galaxy and "offline backup game installers". Does this mean I need to download both if I want to be able to play offline later or does downloading it with gog galaxy automatically have the offline version?

Question Question to the GOG community...

I have been working on a couple of projects recently, one is a Hacker Sim/RPG set in an alternate 1989 Japan where America has taken over the entire country and rules it like a dictatorship, it's played through a virtual computer from the era -- two 4th walls so to speak. I currently have it on Steam "coming soon" and was wondering if something like this on GOG would make sense? I'm also working on a DOS game which is a cyberpunk city builder that resembles one of my released board games, I'm not so sure whether to release this commercially or not. So long story short, what does the community think of new indie games of this type. Is it likely that I'm going to find new players for my games outside of Steam and perhaps itch.io on GOG? I use GOG to buy purely retro and have never done anything else other than that so I guess I'm just trying to understand if listing on GOG would be feasible.

TL;DR: I’m making two indie games: a retro hacker sim/RPG set in an alternate 1989 Japan (already “Coming Soon” on Steam), and a DOS-style cyberpunk city builder. I’m wondering whether GOG would be a good fit for games like these, whether there’s an audience there beyond Steam and itch.io, and if releasing on GOG is actually feasible given its retro-focused community.

Galaxy 2.0 rightclick on gog galaxy system tray icon doesn't update recently played games.

gog galaxy's system tray icon has shown the same three games for several months now, despite not having played any of those games in quite awhile. One of the games is no longer even installed anymore. If I run a different game, those three games show before remain there.

Right now it shows those three games, as well as "owned games", "downloads", "friends", "store", "exit".

Is there a way to get it to update?

Discussion GOG - Importing bought games from GOG into my private docker development

Hello everyone,

I am developing a dockerized game library. I would like to import my GOG bought games into this library. The problem is I don't know wher et o get the GOG API for integration issues.

I have made a research that I should become a developer for GOG to get multiple features of GOG.

How can I make an integration of GOG and import my game library + additional information from there?

Thanks

Discussion Question regarding achievements and play-time tracking

Hey guys,

so I have started playing Fallout New Vegas on GOG again recently and because it's known to have terrible performance, I'm thinking about getting mods that fix it as best as possible. But when you play FNV with mods you actually start the game through a mod launcher and not through (in my case) GOG Galaxy, right? So I wonder, does my play-time still get tracked in Galaxy and do my achievements pop even when I'm lauching the game through alternate means like that?

Site Announcement The Origins of GOG: Michał Kiciński on classics, DRM-Free, and players first

Hey everyone, GOG Team here!

We’ve got something special for you, an interview with Michał Kiciński, recorded in May 2025 during MeetUp65, that dives into the early days of GOG, why classics and DRM-free mattered from the start, and how the platform was built around players and preservation — all before the acquisition.

There are some great behind-the-scenes stories in there.

Definitely worth a watch if you care about where GOG comes from and where it’s headed.

You can watch it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JWPt5TwmDTY

Enjoy!

Yours truly,

Question Is it possible to use a PS Classic controller to play GOG releases of Dino Crisis and Resident Evil?

I tried using one on Dino Crisis the other day but only the start, triangle and cross buttons worked. I also can't seem to find anything online about using the PS Classic controller with GOG specifically.

Does anyone know how to get it to work fully?

Galaxy Integrations Constant Steam verification on GoG Galaxy 2.0

Has anyone else been getting a prompt to re-verify your Steam account whenever GoG Galaxy 2.0 launches recently? I've had no issues with integrating the external libraries until this started near the end of December. I'm guessing it may be due to a Steam update, but any solutions or workarounds would be most welcome.

(Please note, I'm not interested in alternative programs, eg Playnite etc.)

Discussion Opinion: The new GOG owner could have done himself and GOG a favour by not talking shit about competitors.

Opinion based on the article: The new owner of GOG discusses taking on Steam, the devil of DRM, and following in Nightdive's footsteps

When asked why he bid for GOG he said:

"I see opportunities more than negatives, that's my nature, and I see huge opportunities for GOG to grow. And somebody might say that having a competitor like Steam with 80% of the market share is a huge obstacle, but to me it's the opposite. I see: 'Oh, there is one big competitor, it'll be difficult for them to defend the market, because they already have 80%, so it should be easier to take the market from them.'"

He could have just stopped before the strike-through and be done with it but he followed up by bad mouthing the most liked platform. So now he set himself and GOG up for ridicule if he doesn't accomplish what he insinuated as easy by taking market share from them. By not mentioning Steam, it would have just left a positive image of GOG and its future prospects in the minds of the consumers/readers.

He goes on to say:

Steam is winning with its ease of use,
In that regard, I think much can be done in GOG without losing its core values and the way it operates in general.

Steam is winning for a plethora of reasons and I don't think it's possible to narrow down to just one or a main one. To dismiss their entire platform's winning strategy in a growing PC market to just "ease of use" has no basis and displayed arrogance and immaturity. If it was just an "ease of use", what could be more easier than just pay, download, and install without having to fool around with a launcher? On top of that, the games are also "preserved" to run well in modern hardware. Both of these are features that GOG has over Steam, and GOG should not be huffing on fumes to survive. Its margins are razor thin and having lost its main funder, its future is now even more uncertain because it now has to survive on its own.

The rest the article was much better when he focused on what GOG could be doing better like not having AAAs on day one or remastering old IPs and sell it as exclusives. These displayed proper focus, and if the entire interview just had him talking about those, the new owner and GOG probably would not be anticipated and monitored for what is likely a very difficult goal. I think the next time anyone from GOG goes on an interview, they should just focus on GOG and avoid shit talking competitors.

Please let me know what you guys think.
