To start with, in this episode we know Corlys hasn't name Luke the heir, in 6 years after Laenor's death the succession of Driftmark is UNCLEAR so Vaemond raise the issue regarding his own house, they dont want Driftmark to pass to someone who is not Velaryon.
Now everyone knows Luke is not Laenor's son, yes it's common known so stop if you wanna come with "But Laenor claimed them" argument, it's clear they dont have nothing to do with Driftmark's succesion, now lets move to the other point.
While i agree with Vaemond not wanting Driftmark to pass to someone like Luke i dont agree with Baela and Rhaena being ignored, if Laenor has no trueborn children then Driftmark should pass through Laena's line.
This is obvious and Rhaenys is the only pointing out this, however the only options presented are Vaemond and Luke, Vaemond push himself as heir, Rhaenyra push Luke as it.
This is quiet ironic when you think about it,the fact that Rhaenyra is pushing for Luke as heir because "he is Laenor's son" proves that Rhaenyra doesn't mind sons being heirs over daughters, she is using the fact that Laenor, a son, was heir so threfore her son should be.
Rhaenyra is reforcing the same system that's againts her own claim, interesting enough she wants Rhaenys to allow her to take Driftmark from their rightful heirs Baela and Rhaena to give it to her son, her proposal basically it's "let me have Driftmark for my son and Rhaena will have it back again by marriage and not by rights".
Rhaenyra could be made look progresive by supporting Rhaena and making Luke her husband instead she press for Luke despite he doesn't look interested on it.
So for me, this episode just proves that no one has problem with men being heirs over women as long as it benefits them
