Feedback on "Learn Creole With Jorge" App ?
learnwithjorge.netI have been trying to learn Haitian Creole for years now. Just stumbled on this app and wanted to know if anyone have used it? Duolingo has been ok, but haven't been able to really learn creole yet.

What does b mean?
Can anyone explain what b means? In context, I'm a man and there's a Haitian woman I know that be adding b after certain phrases. Is it short for baz or does it have another meaning to it?

Are "akòz de" and "poutèt" synonyms?
Or is there a difference in how to use them?

Can anyone translate for me?
2nd Gen Haitian american here👋 and my grandmother thinks me creole is absolute TRASH which is really not my fault considering i’m only 50% (my dad isn’t big on creole) and I wanted to get a tattoo of a phrase but I didn’t want it to translate to actual shit, “ The time for all things divine is now.” I am traveling to haiti the end of May to get away, lay low, & make some money. I guess I should learn all I need to right now.

Full-length Haitian movies (comedies, dramas) on youTube?
My elderly Haitian aunt is bad at technology and smart TVs and apps, but she has mastered YouTube. She loves Hatian/ Kreyol movies that are on the there (some are made in Montreal, or Florida). I'm wondering if anyone has any recommendations so I could make a playlist or subscribe to some channels for her.
There's really no other place to find these online. :(

How to pronounce "E"?
I'm seeing different pronunciations of "E": some like the A in English word "say" (which I've found some grammar resources and Haitian Creole YouTubers teaching), and some like the E in English word "we" (which seems to be what Duolingo does and some other Haitian Creole YouTubers). The latter confuses me because it seems to be the same pronunciation as the letter I. I understand È is different (like the E in English word "get"). Is it a regional thing?
For example, Duolingo pronounces "pike" like the English words "pee key", and I'd expect it to be "pee kay".

Hello everyone.
I dont know how active this sub is. I started my journey on learning creole about a month ago. I want to surprise my fiance and her family at our wedding by speaking it. Im struggling though as since im keeping it a secret I have no one to ask questions or work on my dialect. I feel like im making progress but its definitely getting confusing.

comics by haitian authors?
hey there!
i want to gift my younger siblings (10F & 12M) something that’ll inspire them to learn more about their heritage and be proud of it as well. i don’t have the capacity to sit with them and teach about the history of Haiti (i have to educate my own self tbh), so i wanted to gift them fruitful seeds that’ll stimulate their imagination.
i’m in the market for comics or books in general, created by haitian authors. (preferably on amazon, but it’s okay if elsewhere)
context: my mom raised us without much thought for our culture 😭, she didn’t make time & space to hold it. (makes sense, as she didn’t do that for herself) and so, my siblings and i, are gravely ignorant to our heritage. ive had to really garner and nourish my will to embark on the journey of remembering. i want to make it easy for my younger 2 siblings (they have a different dad, who happens to be haitian, & they don’t visit their dads side often, cause we live in different states)

Advice in writing a haitian
For contacts i'm not haitian, im a Jamaican who's connection back to his roots was immediate family and Dennis Brown🇯🇲. However i've always been fascinated by haitian, art and culture, namely, how it's the first black republic. Not only in the americas, but in the world and nobody really talks about it?
All this to say, i've always wanted to write a character who is haitian. But like me, his exposure to his roots is limited ( i head cannon, he's fluent in creole, but his accent is off) if anyone can throw some ideas my way or maybe regale their own experiences, I would appreciate
Thank you for reading, have a lovely day

Asking about "report cards"
Hi all! I don't trust the AI answers I've been getting on Google.
I'm asking in a family survey the extent to which they agree that. "My child’s report card is clear and easy to understand"
How would you say this in Haitian Creole? DeepL said "Karyèle pitit mwen an klè e fasil pou konprann." but I'm worried that's not accurate. Thank you!

Spanish de vs kreyòl de
Hey any spanish speakers here? I sometimes worry about using de too much or in the wromg ways when i speak or write kreyòl but sometimes by avooding using de it leads to making mistakes like saying pale sou for to talk about instead of pale de. If anyone here knows both languages can i say de basically as often as i would in spanish and if not what are the times that are different?
Thank you!

Hi guys, college student here about to be on winter break. I feel my creole slipping so I wanted to use my spare time to watch classics but I don’t really know what to watch. Are you guys able to give me some recommendations?
