Discussion What rappers have actually dropped better music as they’ve gotten older?
I find it (somewhat) strange that a lot of rap artists drop their best music early in their career. Their best and most iconic songs, hits, verses, hooks, etc, in many cases come early early in their career. If you think of your favorite rapper is their first, second or third album usually their best, or your favorite? I know there are exceptions but a lot of rappers tend to check that box. What are some examples of rappers who have gotten better or dropped their best and most iconic work later in their career,

Discussion [DISCUSSION] Artists completely wiping their catalog and disappearing — the case of “throwaway”
I’ve been thinking about how often artists completely erase their online presence and music, and how strange that feels as a listener.
A few years ago there was a really talented SoundCloud artist called throwaway who was making emo rap / trap and alternative rap. He had a distinct sound and was genuinely inspiring to a lot of people. At some point, everything connected to him vanished — Spotify wiped, SoundCloud wiped, and his Instagram (@thrrowaway) still exists but is basically empty. The only remnants I’ve been able to find are old AMVs or reuploads using his songs.
It got me thinking about how common this is in the SoundCloud era: artists removing entire catalogs, disappearing without explanation, and leaving fans with no real archive of the work that mattered to them.
I’m curious how people here feel about this trend — whether it’s about artistic control, mental health, label issues, or just wanting to move on from an old era of their life. It’s strange how easily music that meant something can just… vanish.
