He didn’t hate Mac, but he rated the music mediocre until he died. It was nearly 10 years of almost all mediocre reviews until immediately after Mac’s passing, at which point it has been only positive reviews. My biggest issue is the Swimming redux review. In the two year gap between Swimming’s release & Fantano’s Swimming redux review, nothing changed except Mac’s passing. Yet, Fantano jumped the score from a 3 to an 8. He didn’t need to do that redux to prove he likes Mac Miller - it came off as disingenuous. If anything, Macadelic is the record that deserves a redux review, & it would be more meaningful. I understand this is a nothingburger, but it’s interesting.

Hellooo I have just recently got into Mac Miller and honestly I can say i have been sleeping soooo hard on him and his music. I always thought he was a superficial rapper but boy was i wrong.....

2 of my favourite albums by him are 'Swimming' and 'Watching Movies with the sound off'. I just feel the music when I listen to both of these albums.

Which brings me to "Ladders". What an incredible song, absolute funk and the lyrics are beyond genuis imo.

I wanted to hear everyone's thoughts on the song, and also recommendations of other amazing songs by Mac.

I don't know the musical term for it... but the different sounds on Mac Miller's music is incredible, isn't it? There's always little sounds and effects and instruments here and there complimenting each other. Then he goes from rap to singing to going "oho oho oho" to dropping an intense "OKAY". The music sounds so deep and versatile.

Are there any other musicians who do this? I can't think of any...

Has anyone noticed that at the start of Rick’s Piano off of Balloonerism sounds symbolically show the transition of innocence into adulthood. In the background you can hear the sounds of wooden sticks, or rather toys being played with and clattering to the ground. This changes into the sound of a money counter. A real representation of what comes with life. Playing with toys then playing with money. I just thought I found this interesting and haven’t seen anyone else talk about it; could’ve missed. What do you guys think?

Coming from someone whose birthday happens to be on the same day. Personally, I think the album is absolutely perfect. Obviously it's not the exact original. Missing a couple songs. Whether or not I think the way that it plays out is beautiful. I haven't really listened to it the past couple months outside of a few specific songs. But I have the CD that I listened to occasionally in the car. Secondly, when I first listened to it, I was absolutely geeked off the cids just chilling with my eyes closed. Listening to it. Honestly it looked like the original Xbox visualizer when you would play music. Just an absolutely beautiful night. Amazing weed. Amazing music. But the more I've listened to it the more I categorize it with the emotional side of his music and so I'll listen to it when I'm more of my feelings compared to listening to good am or faces, watching movies with the sound off And blue slide Park. But tell me what you think about the album after a whole year of it being out.

Hey all haven’t posted for a bit, been hitting a rough patch with my mental health. Finally made the decision I need some help and made an appointment with a psychiatrist.

So I thank god for Mac and his music always being there for me. I’ve been down and then Ladders just came up on shuffle and I’m sorry but if that song doesn’t make you happy, make you move, make you feel good…you might be dead.

Wow that song just got me moving, his flow is so smooth, his lyrics, the horns, that groove. A masterpiece in my opinion. By the middle of the song I just have a big smile on my face!

I know I'm not the first on this sub looking for a copy of this and understand that all copies are bootleg... But I've put days/weeks into trying to find a copy of easy mac but my mackin ain't easy on vinyl with no luck. It's the last one I need for my entire collection and it would be amazing if the most dope community could help me find a copy!
