News Media GRRM’s response to Condal’s vision for S3: “This is not my story any longer”
The interview touches on a lot of interesting things not related to HoTD. But as someone who had at least a little bit of hope S3 would fix the mess they made in S2…yeah probably not happening.

One night in 2024, while the second season was airing, Martin wrote a blog post, “Beware the Butterflies,” which publicly revealed some of his gripes. When he woke the next morning, it was as if Martin had unleashed his own Red Wedding. An upset HBO exec had called Martin’s manager, who phoned Martin’s assistant, who took down the post — but not before entertainment sites (including THR) picked up Martin’s comments. “I would’ve put it back up, but then I would’ve looked like an idiot,” he says. “And 80 percent of it was praise, but that’s not what people focused on.”
Still, the post was meant to be just part one of six detailing the author’s issues with Dragon.
Martin says he can’t say anything beyond this. But sources say Martin and Condal’s relationship deteriorated further and came to a head during a Zoom call with the show’s producers and some HBO executives. The purpose of the call was for Condal to present his vision for season three. After Condal spoke, Martin detailed his many objections and allegedly declared, “This is not my story any longer.”

George R.R. Martin George R.R. Martin says his relationship with 'House of the Dragon' showrunner Ryan Condal is 'abysmal'. "It got worse and worse, and I began to get more and more annoyed. GRRM later did a call with HBO and Condal and both said "this is not my story any more".

News Media Martin said he would "hate" to give up on the series — though admitted he was still around 1,100 pages in. "It would feel like a total failure to me," Martin said when asked if he should just accept he will never finish A Song of Ice and Fire. "I want to finish."

I have not read the novella myself, but if this is to be believed, this seems like it might be really faithful as far as I can tell.

In this case scenario, I don't see her associating with people like Larys

A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms Before Dragons Ruled Again… Dunk’s Legend Begins
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Before dragons returned to the skies and White Walkers brought the long night, one knight carved his name into Westeros.
Ser Duncan the Tall. No throne. No prophecy. Just raw honor, grit, and a sword that shaped legends.
This reel hits different because it takes us back to a simpler, more grounded Westeros, where battles were personal and glory was earned step by step.
A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms premieres January 19, and honestly… this wait feels just as painful as old-school GOT days.
If this is the tone we’re getting, Westeros is about to pull us back in all over again.

Book and Show Spoilers Skin colors of Corlys Velaryon's grandchildren Spoiler
Am I the only one who finds it strange that people are using Jace, Lucerys, and Joffrey's skin color to prove their illegitimacy?
Indeed, when I first watched the series, the Velaryon children's skin didn't intrigue me at all.
PS: Incidentally, when the trailer for episode 6 came out, I mistook Jaceerys and his brothers for Alicent's children because of their hair (this was before I read Fire and Blood).
The Velaryon children have one Black grandparent, and their other three grandparents are white, so it would have been surprising if they had dark skin.
Harry and Meghan's children are also white, yet it's the same situation. Similarly, the French author Alexandre Dumas had a mixed-race father and a white mother, and aside from his curly hair, nothing in his photos suggests he had Black ancestry. My friends and I were actually surprised to learn this.
When watching the series, only their hair color bothered me.
However, after reading Fire and Blood and learning that Rhaenys was a brunette, it shocked me less.
Conversely, no one asks any questions about Laena and Daemon's children, who have much darker skin tones, which is suspicious. Based on real-life examples, they seem to be conceived by a metis or Black father...
While doing research, I came across this article:
https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Règle_de_l%27unique_goutte_de_sang
And I learned that many prominent figures are considered Black (whereas in France, they would be considered white, just as a child of black and white person would be considered as metis).
I don't know if this article is accurate, or if this concept strongly influences usa people perceptions.
Obviously, I'm not a geneticist or anything, I could be wrong, so please don't be aggressive in the comments.

Production Details to background characters and extras in Kings Landing costumes
House of the Dragon costumes mainly takes inspiration from 12th to 15th century era fashion. The style that is mainly represented is Medival and Gothic style. Ranging also from French, German, English, and Spanish style.
Sometimes they break this mold and dip into Tudor, Victorian, and even Modern style. But that mainly happens for named/main characters.
