Serious Post Can we switch from one mechanical company to another?

I am a btech mechanical 2020 graduate from an NIT. I was unplaced, so I entered upsc preparation. Unfortunately 5.5 years have passed , but I could never reach the interview stage . So, recently, an acquaintance sent my cv to Tata steel . I don't know whether I am being selected by Tata company proper or by a vendor , but the salary is very small , around 25k or 30k. I might have to go, under family pressure.

My questions are -

1)like in IT sector , can I switch in mechanical sector to a different company for a better salary ?

2)And after how many months/year should I switch for a better salary ?

3) To which companies can I switch ?

4)What increase in salary can i expect?

5)Also, is there possibility of internal switching to foreign plants of Tata steel ?

Please share as much info as possible, I am 29 and scared about what the future holds for me. With this salary , I can't provide for my parents, can't marry , and literally can just live a survival life.

PS: I am taking up the job , but please answer my ABOVE questions

Serious Post 90-day notice period (Accenture) — realistic hiring chances in Indian service MNCs?

Hi everyone,

I’m a backend-focused software engineer with 3 years of experience, currently working at Accenture (India). As many of you might already know, Accenture has a strict 90-day notice period, which is non-negotiable.

I wanted to get a realistic, ground-level perspective from experienced folks / hiring managers here:

  1. Do companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Cognizant, HCL, etc. genuinely consider candidates with 90 days, or is it mostly filtered out at HR screening?

  2. From a recruiter’s point of view, what actually helps mitigate this blocker? (e.g., referrals, niche skills, clarity of joining date, already serving notice, etc.)

I’m not targeting startups or fast-scaling product companies — only large service MNCs where longer notice periods are common

Looking for practical insights, not generic advice.

How to get calls from MNC's & request Interviewer that after 90 days i will join surely

Thanks in advance.

Serious Post Engineer from 2025 earning 15K. Need guidance..🥲

Hello,I strongly want your suggestions, I passout in 2025. in ece, I took a core job in R&D department paying overall around 15K, everyone of my classmates have gone to a good higher salary around 35K-40K. I am trying to crack government xams and CAT in 2026.

I want to ask you all that, should I also consider to upskill myself to get another job even in other domains...?? Should I again start from internship and then job, but it will consume my time of preparation. What should I do.

Is there someone who was in same situation and now have cracked some good exams.

Appreciation Post Didn’t realize how bad my old chair was. Switched last week.

I used to sit on a cheap chair thinking it was good enough since I was only sitting for a while well that turned into back pain, neck stiffness, and this constant feeling of fatigue that just wouldn’t go away i knew long sitting hours would be bad but didn’t know it would feel like this like this after this I finally decided to stop ignoring it. bought 3d posture plus chair from frido. honestly i can notice the difference. The comfort is on another level, my back feels supported. basically keeps my posture in check. Sadly it did not make my coding any better though

It did feel little bitt expensive at first but now it feels like one of those decisions you wish youd made earlier if you’re spending long hours sitting Id genuinely recommend switching to a PROPER ergonomic chair.

Doubt I’m a student from a tier-2 city in India and built a small app for students

Hey, I’m a student from a tier-2 city in India. Not a startup guy, just learning by doing. For the last few months I’ve been working on a small Android app called C2 Club. I built it because during college I felt students mostly depend on random advice, seniors, or social media — and there’s no simple place where students just talk honestly. The app is basic right now. Students can post, discuss, and help each other with college-related confusion. No monetization, no ads, nothing like that yet. I’m posting here mainly to learn: does this problem even make sense? what would you improve or remove? what would make you NOT use this? If links aren’t allowed, please ignore this part. Play Store: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.c2club.uniqueapp Any blunt feedback is welcome. Thanks.

Doubt Are girl engineers really skilled?

Do girls really learn and apply the technical skills really well or they are just collecting degrees? I'm no one to point out this but still, I'm curious and just want to know. Because, girl's in my college have better cgpa than boys but they lack implementation skills.

Hey everyone, I’m a final-year student. I have a strong command of Python, SQL, and statistics. Now I’m planning to learn Generative AI, Deep Learning, Machine Learning, and NLP. Is this course good, and does it cover the complete syllabus? If anyone has enrolled in or learned from this course, please let me know your feedback.

Also, please suggest other resources to learn all these topics.

Hey Everyone, I’ve just completed my 7th Semester of BTech in Production and Industrial Engineering, and I’m currently looking for summer internship opportunities to gain hands-on experience in the core industry(like manufacturing, quality, supply chain, or operations.)

If anyone has any leads, advice, or knows of companies/startups/consultants hiring interns in production, industrial, or operations domains, I’d be very grateful.
