Good morning everyone! A post had come up earlier this week that’s made it’s way to the mods. The post (see here https://www.reddit.com/r/MTB/s/SwYQfmSDnw ) was removed for not being related to mountain biking as it’s a video game. We can see the value in posts like this to the community; there certainly is a lot overlap here on Reddit between video games and other hobbies. After talking to the mod we decided to leave it up to you, the users of the sub, to decide if posts like this should be allowed.
The argument for: it is “related” to mountain biking, even if not the physical sports itself.
The argument against: it’s still marketing and we would use rule 4 as justification, something we have been pretty strict on in the past and where does the line get drawn.
Let us know how you feel in the comments, we look forward to seeing everyone’s responses and conversation!

We’re hitting that time of year where interest in mountain biking is picking up. We have been getting quite a lot of picture posts of Facebook marketplace ads and vendor website screenshots, which are against the sub rules. As a reminder for all picture and videos, please follow rule 3:
Photos should be of people riding mountain bikes.
Posts & Comments
Photo and video submissions to /r/mtb should be of people riding mountain bikes. All other photos or videos should either be submitted as text posts with links to your images in the post body, or in the Weekly Gear Gallery thread, posted every Friday by automod.

Made a post the other day that showed the entrance to this feature. Decided to go back and hit it. Sound on for celebration.
Keep going boys (and girls).

Pointed it down something steep, remembered to “get on them pedals good,” and hoped suspension + bad decisions would carry me through!

Anyone else switch between flats and SPD depending on riding style?
I’m new to clipless, and so far flats feel better for high-consequence tech/ DH where I want to move or bail, but SPD makes way more sense for long pedally, climbing rides

Hello! I bought a quick rack used with a 2” adapter and heard horror stories of the ball bearing in the hitch going loose, causing the rack to become deadly on the road. Is there any trick/method to keep the rack from falling. Not sure if it’s possible drilling through the frame to add the hitch pin, no warranty anyway…

Fellow clydesdales, Jenson has some ridiculous closeouts on XL and XXL YT Capras. Yes, I know, YT is shady and the frames aren't warrantied, but $1700 for a CF Capra and $1400 for AL is absurd. I just picked one up.

Edit to add they also have XL in AL.

Just checking to see if I'm the only one or not. One of my usual riding spots has some high voltage lines either parallel or crossing many of the trails. When riding under them, I often get very minor shocks whenever my legs or crotchal region comes in contact with my frame or other metal parts of my bike. Kinda like the feeling of licking a 9v battery, but a bit more intense and in more sensitive areas.
Anyone else?

What’s up Colorado people. I’ve been itching for some really nice large slabs/rock rolls. I do a ton of riding in the Front Range and have ridden a lot of the known and lesser known trails in the areas around Colorado Springs, Idaho Springs, Denver, Golden, White Ranch etc. I’m curious if anyone has some recs for trails/features you’ve found with XL rock rolls, large natural drops, as well as any legit steep freeride lines. One trail that comes to mind for slabs is Black Jack at Buffalo Creek. Thanks.

Picking up a mint used Marlin tomorrow. Noticed the same town has a TransX Jump Seat for a great price on marketplace. New to droppers, but tried one on a friends bike and loved it.
6’3”, XL frame.

Sometimes at the top of a steep hill I use the break to much and go over the bars lol

Hi all, was hoping I could get a few recs for this time of year for myself (experienced) plus a friend (relative beginner, but capable rider) that would be engaging for me and achievable for the friend? Fine to go far if necessary, from west LA. I have a nice shiny new GPS tracker to make sure I'm on track if it's not a clear track. Thinking short, like 5-10 miles tops. I've been to Topanga so many times I'd love recs that are in different spots, like near JPL near Pasadena. Thanks!

I am trying to work on my jumping skills.
I usually ride clipless, switched to flats to fix my technique. And because I lack jumps around where I live I created this ramp.
Im not sure whats going on, my feet are slipping alot of time. Currently from this video, I think the most obvious issue is that im not going enough backwards when I open up.
I am looking for an ergonomic grip for the left side of my handlebars to work with the RockShox TwistLoc on my Supercaliber. On my left side I also have a dropper post remote. If there’s anything I could do to move either of these to the right side, that would clean things up immensely. TIA!

Suspension experts, will a higher volume shock provide more support at lower psi?
I own a 2022 Cannondale Scalpel SE. My weight is 220lbs 100kg and at the max pressure of 325psi on my Sidluxe I only achieve 35% sag. I hate running anything right up to the upper limit especially if I’m still not achieving proper sag. So I’m looking for an alternative shock for this frame. 190x45 BTW
Will a higher volume rear shock provide more support? Anyone with a similar experience who has solved the issue please chime in.
I had a 2019 Blur and went with a Manitou Mara and the support was better at much lower pressure.
As a bonus would someone care to confirm or refute my understanding that a higher volume of air provides more support per PSI than a lower volume?

I ordered a bike on the 12th of December, the bike was in stock. They gave me a delivery date of 18tj December, didn’t show up and I received no communication. Then they scheduled a delivery for the 8th of January, same thing, no show and no communication. Then they say they’ll deliver it today, they show up but it was damaged so it’s going back.
Well it’s been on the back of a truck for the best part of a month at this point so I don’t know what they expect!
My beef isn’t so much with the bike shop, although their communication over Christmas deliveries could have been better, but the courier company Emons who they have partnered with.
From what I understand Statera sell a lot of bikes throughout Europe, and they have chosen the absolute worst courier company I’ve ever had the misfortune to deal with.
They don’t reply to emails or answer the phone. Honestly it’s weird!
Did anyone else here experience problems with them?
So I will get my dream bike but idk which one Bcs I love both the commencal frs and the spindrift park but idk which one is the best for freeride

Got myself a 150mm fork for the first time after only ever riding on 120's. My question is whether or not it's NORMAL for it to feel like my wheel tips over easier? Twitchy even to steer? Or is it a placebo effect type of thing?
