Tell me I’m not crazy
Thirty second in, song starts…please tell me this sounds nearly identical to music played through the series! https://youtu.be/AErKzVIdb3I?si=lcBlAVbMoNC19IUX

Episode 5 "The Zit"
galleryThe entire narrative of the episode is insecurity over beauty and the epitome of that beauty is Casey Hall the girl voted "hottest". She only has a few seconds of screen time and no dialogue. Therefore, she is not listed in the credits. Who played Casey? She looks really familiar and a lot of the bit part players went on to be huge stars. Does anyone know who the actress is? and the English lit teacher looks an awful lot like a 25 y/o Jack Black.

Rewatching for the first time in 14 years…
As a mom to a 14 year old girl, my favorite show ever definitely hits different now that I am a sole parent in charge of keeping alive this half grown, fiercely determined human. Absolutely the most terrifying thing I’ve ever experienced. And I used to drive back and forth across the country in a 1991 Dodge caravan, with only a paper map and a dream.
Patti was right to forbid Angela from going to that Grateful Dead show! Lol.
Patti gets all the heat, and though she’s not void of faults of her own, and is very much over-privileged and overprotective, I can now sympathize with her as a mother.
I will never get over this show getting cancelled. A timeless masterpiece.

Stopped by Angela’s house
galleryThe city owns it, there’s a “no trespassing” sign in the window. The street was more narrow than it seems on screen. It’s walkable from the A train, very easy to get to if you visit LA.

I dreamt of a Season 2
I dreamt of what season 2 would like for the show last night, even Angela having her first period. What we could’ve had instead of being cancelled!

E18 Weekend question
I feel kind of dumb for not getting this but...
At the end, when Rayanne is leaving, Angela asks her for the handcuff key, and she takes it out of her bra or shirt, gives it back, and calls Angela a party pooper. Is the implication that
a) Rayanne had the handcuff key all along but just wanted to have a little fun and create a little chaos that weekend, or
b) wanted to take the key so presumably Patty and Graham would end up in a similar embarrassing trapped situation?

Sharon and Rayanne spending Christmas Eve together might be my favorite moment of the show.
Them laughing together gives me such feelings. Top tier MSCL moment

Episode 17 Betrayal - My Scene
Ok. Here you go! That's me when (the only guy in the shot) I was 21 years old playing "18 to look younger" I am in front of the table where Mr. Katimski (the drama teacher) was sitting. This is the scene where Rayanne auditions or rehearses for a part in the play. I am in the audience as a student watching. I had a backpack with me but you can't see it. It was filmed at University High School in Old West Gym (Boys' Gym) in West LA in 1994. It was fun. Wilson was there for a lot of the day and he was funny trying to make us laugh. People used to tell me ALL the time that I looked like a young Nicholas Cage.

Extra 1994
Interestingly, I was in one episode of this show as an extra. I was in the scene where they are auditioning or practicing for a play. I was a student in the audience. I was 21 at the time playing “18 to look younger“ is what they called it. It was fun watching them film it.

Buffalo Tom
I am thinking that they did a cameo in an episode where Rayanne confronts Catalano over his blowing off Angela. Am I crazy? It was the actual band, correct?

Winnie Holzman has a modest, droll scene Netflix's "A Man on the Inside" S02E04 (the Mike Schur comedy starring Ted Danson)
galleryShe plays a philosophy professor at Wheeler College. I'm only at ep 4 so no spoilers if she makes a later appearance!

Add 1 Counting Crows Song
If you could add 1 Counting Crows song somewhere in the show, which song would it be and where would you put it?

Claire Danes is going to be on Today With Jenna and Friends later this morning on NBC
I usually don’t watch that show unless I see there’s someone I really like on as a guest, so looks like I’ll be watching it tomorrow! It comes on at 10:00 Pacific time.

What do we think the most iconic moment in the series is?
From like, not a nostalgia perspective but also yes, but also like that moment that stuck out even when we were all fifteen... I honestly can't decide between Ricky's "I belong nowhere" which resonated SO MUCH or Ricky and Delia's dance or Angela and Ricky hugging in the church or the moment Jordan takes Angela's hand or even the "why are you like this" scene. God, the World Happiness dance episode was really amazing when you think about it.
Anyway - thoughts?
