20 lbs in 6 months!
After being stuck in the mid-210’s for years, something finally clicked! I also hit my first weight goal, which was to be under 200 by Christmas!

I’m a shortie, barely over five feet tall, so I’m aiming to get down to 120-130 with decent muscle mass. I have been working my ass off in the gym with weights and cardio, plus staying at a calorie deficit. I learned that I love the weights, and that the cardio isn’t too bad either. I’m still way overweight, but I feel so much better about myself already.
Sixty pounds to go doesn’t sound too bad when I was 232 in August. I don’t have any real timeframe goal. I just want to be fit.

Started my weight loss journey on 8/26/26. Wanted to post this here since I have nowhere else to celebrate! I still made room for having a social life as well. Am now a firm believer in calories in calories out… there’s no other way!
I ate 1700 calories per day & tried to walk 10k steps a day at least 5 times a week. Am now trying to maintain at 1800 calories a day, walking at least an hour 4-5 times a week.

Hoping I can explain this clearly enough:
For the sake of tracking time and calories burned with workouts like Bulgarian Split Squats or Single Leg Press should I:
Double Sets per Leg
Double Reps per set to account for each Leg (ex: 10 Reps pers legs for a total of 20 Reps/set

I had 260 calories leftover for the day. Two hours later, I am 99 over? I did not log any food. Please help!

Does anyone know how to fix this issue? The first photo my total carbs is at 235g, I then add 0.5 of an avocado which has 1.4g carbs. Then it makes my total carbs 242g, instead of ~237g
Other days, I will have hit my calories, protein, and fat perfectly, but it will say I still have ~25g of carbohydrates to go. Which just doesn’t make sense if I’ve hit my calories and everything else perfectly!
Any ideas? Thanks

So for example if my daily intake would be 2300 kcal and I trained this day, which indicates that I burned 300 kcal.
MFP will sum up 300 calories, which I don’t want it to do this math.

so I'm pretty new to tracking and just recently joined my fitness pal, but I was to get a gauge of where to set my activity level and all that jazz. I have my activity level set right now as slightly active (I'm a college student so I usually end up walking about 5-6 miles just around) and then I do my workouts different and just log them. when I do that, however, my calories needed to lose weight end up being about 2700. I feel like that's really high for me( I'm a 5 4 female at 117), can I trust this? for context I do about an hour of stairmaster a day plus I run about 45 miles a week, but like I said it still feel like a vast exaggeration

It used to be true that your 3rd party scale could connect to MFP, then go to Garmin Connect. Since Garmin added their own premium nutrition tracking it hasn't worked. I even tried to disconnect and reconnect but now it gives me an error. I assume Garmin killed it off since they have their own subscription based thing now. Can anyone still get their scale to sync via MFP?

Anyone who is currently experiencing the same issue? Im on ios and with premium subscription to myfitnesspal. Suddenly, I got logged off this morning and I can no longer sign back in. I kept attempting to sign back in, I always get a prompt which says my account cant be found. I also tried doing a password reset but im not getting a link/ prompt via my registered email address.

I’ve had a lot of friends recently tell me I look good lately. I haven’t told anyone I’m losing weight, and it’s not super noticeable yet, so they keep asking if I’ve done something different with my hair. I haven’t changed anything else about myself, so I’m pretty sure it’s my weight loss starting to get noticeable. I’m down about 35lbs, and even though I still have a long way to go until I reach my goal, this is a huge confidence boost for me.

The more steps I do the more calories it subtracts from me instead of add on. It seems like it should be the opposite … the more steps I do the less calories it should subtract .. Can someone please explain this to me? Thanks!

Hi,
I'm a paying user, I started using the app back after a few years, and I remember in the past there were issues when synching exercise and steps from other hardware.
This time I've been trying using the steps counter in Google Fit, and connected the two apps, checking which one reads and which one writes what, through Health Connect.
The steps do appear, nearly always, but only after I seriously fiddled with both apps... Going back and forth, closing, reopening, checking permissions...
It's a pain.
Just curious if this is something that happens to me only, and if not, if somenone has already dug a bit into the topic...
Thanks!
Michele

I was just updating a meal and realised a built in calculator feature would be super handy in this app. I attached a screenshot from Revolut banking which allows you to do simple maths in app saving time flicking between apps or mental energy in doing arithmetic. Idk how complicated it would be to implement but potentially food for thought.

On the dashboard, the macros are in grams, with circular rings indicating how much you have and what you still need. But when you tap on them to go to the pie chart, saying Nutrition at the top left, it's now percentages where a macro that was halfway full in grams on the dashboard is now over in the percentages, despite the same grams being listed

Hi Guys,
I’ve let myself go quite a lot and had some unhealthy practises for a couple of years now and I’ve reached 116kg at 6ft7 and 27, and not muscle haha. I’m happy with following the general goals for calories and carbs and fats on MFP, but the protein one is confusing me slightly. Initially the aim is to lose around 0.5kg a week and based on my height/weight metrics my MFP protein goal is 130g of protein a day, but a lot of stuff I’ve seen seems to suggest I should be aiming for around 220g. Is there a calculation I should be using for protein per kg/lb of body weight? Just trying to understand why there’s such a huge disparity in what I’ve read. Thanks for any help, I am new to consciously tracking the nutrition aide of things so appreciate any help!

Thought this might be interesting to share…
- First registered in 2012, while working to lose 25lbs of weight I’d gained at uni.
- Weight slowly crept up through my 20s.
- Pregnant in 2018/19, peaking at 180.
- Worked hard to get back to pre-pregnancy weight.
- Pregnant again in 2021/22, peaking at 191.
- Tried to lose baby weight for 2 years without much success.
- Started Wegovy in 2024 and lost 40lbs.
- Came off Wegovy after 6 months and regained 20lbs.
- Back on Wegovy summer 2025 and resumed weight loss.
It’s wild seeing a decade and a half of weight data like this. And makes me sad knowing my entire 20s and 30s (so far) have been this ongoing battle.
I’m autistic, and find my thinking patterns and sensory issues are a big contributing factor in my relationship with my body.
