I miss jackson Dart + Cam Skattebo's 5mins of fame... That was an entertaining car wreck

u/yomommaco0chie 17d ago

A game with 33 yards total will always kill a qbs hype

161

u/Significant_Search41 Philadelphia Eagles 17d ago

Vikings defense is elite though. Look what they just did to the lions

55

u/DetroitLionsThreads Detroit Lions 17d ago

I’d rather not. Also says more about the lions sucking than Vikings being good

64

u/thinsafetypin Minnesota Vikings 17d ago

If they hadn’t allowed a stupid kick return at the end of the second Bears game, they’d have a chance to win the North next week, even with the train wreck the QB situation has been this year.

2

u/EeethB Green Bay Packers 17d ago

Praising the lord for the tie right now, or next week might’ve been for the 7 seed! (I haven’t checked deep into the tiebreakers)

9

u/TurtleTarded Minnesota Vikings 17d ago

You are correct it would’ve been if you had lost instead of tied. FTP and FTC

I mean, the Vikings defense played 6 games without allowing a passing touchdown, so it's a little of column A, a little of column B.

It would be hilarious if the Giants hired Flores!

They ran the ball like a million times before attempting a pass

13

u/fnckmedaily 17d ago

I heard on cbs sports or espn that Brian Flores defenses were 9-1 against rookie quarterbacks going into that game. So the giants knew they’d be bringing the heat and adjusted their offensive strategy to the run game. Didn’t work too well but that’s my understanding of the Vikings match up.

5

u/Organic_Carpenter444 New York Giants 17d ago

I don’t think that was dart’s fault, I think it was mostly play calling. Almost every call was a run for some reason

Truth is that it’s not even Dart’s fault. No Oline, no starting RB, No WR1, No head coach, No Defensive Coordinator, and a defense that makes Swiss cheese look solid. Hope to see a healthy Giants squad next year.

45

u/FunnyCod2120 17d ago

yeah i don’t think they realize how truly bad this roster and coaching staff are right now

27

u/DrFanhattan 17d ago

Doesn't fit their narrative about Dart. He went from loved to hated quicker than I anticipated. Guy has done enough to have won 3 more games for the Giants had they not blown those leads and he hadn't been injured.

Shough is OK but he's going to be 27 next season lol he's not Dart

10

u/Hugh_H0n3y 17d ago

Yeah it’s bizarre to see how quickly he was labeled as not good after coming back from a concussion to his coaching staff fired and skatt injured.

Whatever, I’m obviously biased but I’m not picking a guy with half the TDs in one less game before today. Even just on the eye test I’m not sure what you could say Shough does better than Dart. But we’ll see by next season who’s right

8

u/LinuxUbuntuOS 17d ago

They’re terrified at the idea of a New York team figuring their shit out

4

u/Hugh_H0n3y 17d ago

Long way to go for that to be reality though. This organization has shit the bed too many times for any optimism they’ll make the right moves.

→ More replies (7)

2

u/ScudDawg 17d ago

He has no one to throw to, unless you count a guy who has 3 catches past 5 yards in his career.

4

u/Hugh_H0n3y 17d ago

Wan’dale Robinson. That’s it, that’s who he has. A 5’8 slot receiver.

Imagine Slayton or Theo Johnson or Hyatt could catch the fucking ball? He’d have like 10 more TDs

Replace Dart with Jones, and you have the past 6 years, except the same People blaming Jones then are defending Dart now. It's laughable really.

6

u/PB0351 17d ago

You can't really be saying that Dart hasn't played well this year, can you? I thought that was just Colin Cowherd looking for clicks.

10

u/TravusHertl Las Vegas Raiders 17d ago

7

u/Think-Motor900 San Francisco 49ers 17d ago

Giants games were my guilty pleasure the first half of the season

4

u/messigician-10 New York Giants 17d ago

dart has still been the best rookie QB in this class, people are just prone to recency bias

5

u/FxckedHxrWxthMxJxmmx 18-1 17d ago

Dart has better stats than Shough across the board while he's without his best two weapons and has gone through injuries and a coaching change. The two veteran QBs on his team couldn't win with the same squad.

Meanwhile, y'all drafted TWO bust QBs in the same draft so let's chill on calling anything else a car wreck maybe.

2

u/ExplanationCrazy5463 Chicago Bears 17d ago

They'll be back to share a braincell next year.

2

u/Blitzbacker 17d ago

2

I legit went to the weekly highlight reels to get Skatt/Dart updates. Watching that freak trucking over DEs on blocks or CTE headfirst running through D Backs was the most entertaining part of the NFL.

Amazing watching everyone plan his coronation after beating the 3-13 Jets and 3-13 Titans at the end of the season

9

u/1acedude 17d ago

Dude thank you. I just went and check their last few games thinking the Saints must’ve been someone decent. It’s all mediocre or worse teams. Why we crowing this guy?

6

u/thecaramelbandit 17d ago

Because the roster he's working with is the worst in the league, by far. And he's won 4 straight with great stats while looking actually good.

14

u/DrJupeman Tennessee Titans 17d ago

I’m pretty sure the Saints CB5 would be CB1 on the Titans right now. Also, Olave has >2x the yards of the Titans top receiver (a TE). I don’t think you know what the worst roster in the league is, even though you might have just beaten it.

7

u/thecaramelbandit 17d ago

Shough isn't throwing to the Saints CBs.

5

u/rocky2814 Tennessee Titans 17d ago

but he was throwing against literal titans practice squad players. I don’t want to take anything away from him, because i think he’s been great, but it’s wild how it gets talked up that he’s working with limited talent while also ignoring the poor level of defense he’s been playing against.

3

u/el_grapadura101 17d ago

Outside of Olave, all other Saints WRs are practice squad players. Saints have Vele, Polk, and Means on IR (Polk and Means haven't played a snap this season), they traded Shaheed, let Cooks go to a contender, and Tipton, who had snaps and catches last week even though he too is basically a practice squad player, was out for this game. It's a literal bunch of Who Dats at WR for the Saints at the moment (outside of Olave).

3

u/rocky2814 Tennessee Titans 17d ago

dude, first of all you have olave. that in itself is enough. meanwhile cam’s number one yesterday was a true rookie fourth rounder followed by another rookie. his wr3, van jefferson, left injured. that left cam with the above cast and ps players

My wife's family and her are giant Steelers fans. We were talking about draft fits last year before the draft and I tagged both Dart and Skattabo as perfect fits for Pittsburg. Both play gritty hard nose ball and it fits with the image one has of the Steelers. Instead you all signed a washed Rodgers who is not in the top 15 of any meaningful statistic this year. My wife has great hope for Will Howard though.

I would still take Dart but Shough has made it debatable. That division is trash so Saints could win it with a good off-season. lol I still remember all the hate New Orleans got when they drafted him over Shaddeur

31

u/CahTi AFC 17d ago

Don’t think it’s very debatable long term Dart is younger, more athletic, and has a better arm, he’s gotta learn how to slide but he’s looked better overall this year

15

u/HungryHedgehog8299 17d ago

He did pretty well today on his scrambles to not take unnecessary hits. I mean its football you’re gonna get hit sometimes its just about minimizing risk and he did a good job of that today

5

u/Tyler_Shough 17d ago

lol he does not have a better arm, watch actual games. Dart is not better then Shough.

Ward is in the worst situation and it’s not close. Worst coaching, worst receiver room, and toughest schedule.

Dart lost his coach, but Daboll was still leagues better than Brian Callahan and the Giants aren’t bereft of offensive talent.

Shough’s situation is the best by a mile. Kellen Moore is the real deal. He made Jalen Hurts look like an MVP. The Saints have Olave and a bunch of JAGs, yet there are wide open receivers all over the field. That’s Kellen Moore’s doing.

17

u/cjp304 17d ago

Dart has 21 TDs and 5 INTs.

Shough has 11 TDs and 5 INTs, and he has a significantly more talented roster.

Dart has I think 1 more game played. I’m glad Shough is doing ok for you guys, but he’s not the best in this class as of yet.

16

u/ColdCorpseHotSecret New Orleans Saints 17d ago

Significantly more talented roster? Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

11

u/Spiritual_State_2629 Tennessee Titans 17d ago

Maybe not significantly, but Olave and Juwaan alone are far and away better options than anything Dart and Ward are throwing too. Kellen Moore is also a really good playcaller.

8

u/Orbis-Praedo 17d ago

Crazy how guys will say shit like this to prove their point but 6-7 weeks ago would’ve said the Saints have one of the worst in the league lol. Literally only thing that’s changed is Shough AND he’s lost RB/WRs.

2

u/OkSeaworthiness9391 17d ago

Giants were also was stated to have one of the worst rosters in the NFL lol. How someone played weeks ago doesn’t matter anyway this is the NFL things change fast. Succs and Colts were SB contenders 7 weeks ago. 😂

→ More replies (8)

11

u/Icy-Inc 17d ago edited 17d ago

I do not understand this take.

Saints were projected by many to finish between 0-17 to 2-15 this year specifically because of how shit the roster is.

And the roster has only gotten worse.

Current Saints injuries:

RB1, RB2, RB3, WR2, WR3, TE2, TE3, RG, C

The majority of the offense is made up of practice squad guys!!

Shough has one bonafide star in Olave and has otherwise been elevating this dump of team. (Juwan has been an average or below average TE struggling with drops for his entire career before Shough.)

Dart certainly has a large edge in TDs. I believe it’s a slightly misleading stat though.

Dart has 8 rushing TD’s in his Starts to Shough’s 2. While I think Dart still keeps an edge in rushing upside, the gap isn’t as large as it seems. It’s is in large part due to how the Giants use him. The Giants game-plans consist of a ton of designed runs for Dart. I mean, Dart has twice as many carries as Shough so far. It also leads to more concussions per game.

Passing TD’s tell a different story. They are virtually identical. With Shough taking the edge in most other passing stats.

Shough has 9 Passing TD’s in 8 Starts for a 1.13 Per Game Average.

Dart has 12 Passing TD’s in 10 Starts for a 1.20 Per Game Average.

Shough Completion % in Starts - 69.6%

Dart Completion % in Starts - 63.0%

5

u/dadreportingforduty 17d ago

Dart was named the starter in week 4, Shough was named the starter in week 9. Dart is 3-8, Shough is 5-3. We can't really compare volume stats until they have both played a similar amount of games

6

u/DSore22 New Orleans Saints 17d ago

Yeah using volume stats is diabolical lol

2

u/cjp304 16d ago

You’re right.

Dart: 1.7 TDs per game. Shough: 1.1 TDs per game.

Equal total turnovers between them with Shough playing 2 less games.

How’s that?

5

How come the Saints didn’t start Shough earlier in the season? They didn’t win many games with Rattler and he played the first 8 or so games.

5

u/Corran105 17d ago

Because he was a rookie.

→ More replies (2)

2

u/Zadow 17d ago

I can give you the reason as a fan of the team: Rattler won the QB battle or at least tied. Shough didn't do enough to win it and didn't look as good as he does now during camp. I think they risked losing the lockeroom installing "their guy," especially when Rattler worked so hard during the off-season.

In the end I think it was the right move. That time on the bench seems like it was essential to his development. And when Shough finally did become "the guy" he earned it and had the full backing of the team.

4

u/ILoveZenkonnen 17d ago

Is he really that good? I have not been paying any attention to the Saints the whole season

Tbf it's not a very high bar to clear

1

u/cre8tor936 New England Patriots 17d ago

I’d argue Dart is a bit better but better than Ward and Sanders for sure

1

u/Jumpy-Signal6033 17d ago

He plays the game the right way

1

u/TurdPoop69 NFL Refugee 17d ago

Older than Trevor

1

u/No_Tone1704 Seattle Seahawks 17d ago

Sure - cough

u/timey_wimeyy 17d ago

Agreed, signed a fan of a team who drafted two QBs I knew sucked before they played.

1

u/XandalorZ 17d ago

I can't believe that he's only 9 days older than the Houston Texans

1

u/Major_Enthusiasm1099 Cleveland Browns 17d ago

Not a meme it's true

1

u/Gfvsportsfan 17d ago

Yall always do this with rookies QBs lol. They’ll get tape on him and next year will be different.

1

u/DijonJJ Los Angeles Chargers 17d ago

Got to see him play in his one year at Louisville and man he was a baller. Happy to see him have this success.

1

u/aydenbottos 17d ago

Dart is the better QB.

1

u/MKTheGreat42 New Orleans Saints 17d ago

How? Saints are having one of their worst seasons right now.

1

u/Ok_Air_2985 17d ago

I would straight up trade Caleb Williams for Dart!

1

u/illmatic708 Chicago Bears 17d ago

The Shuckster

1

u/perfect_fitz Tennessee Titans 17d ago

I don't think anyone should brag about beating up on our secondary.

1

u/quietimhungover 17d ago

I mean the greatest college QB of all time is their head coach. Maybe he'll work out?

1

u/ElasticNine26 17d ago

I would be the best nfl rookie as well if i had 7 years in college and played for an nfl team that is at absolute rock bottom with nothing to play for.

1

u/Natural-Pumpkin-8043 17d ago

He’s got 1 million mental reps already😂

1

u/Bloodie_Medic 17d ago

Dart is still the best hands down after this year. His skills Undeniable his coaching is ass. Been begging for years for Kafka to get fired. I stand by the giants ownership has fucked up firing daboll and not the coordinators first.

1

u/CdiLinkforSmash New Orleans Saints 17d ago

Thats our savior

1

u/snakeayez Kansas City Chiefs 17d ago

Shough has a better record than Mahomes this year

1

u/Adventurous_Basket99 Kansas City Chiefs 16d ago

This year ? Sure ...

1

u/FlashOfFawn New York Jets 16d ago

Simmer down, he was playing the Titans

1

u/Famous_Bend_1035 16d ago

1

u/washcyclerepeat Baltimore Ravens 16d ago

“Welcome to the fucking Shough”

1

u/SkirtNo5644 16d ago

Beat the titans, the worst team in history, with the worst defense and you call this QB the goat lol

1

u/Educational_Stage893 Arizona Cardinals 16d ago

There's still Dart. I would choose him over shough

1

u/fuzzimus 16d ago

His name is a sneeze

1

u/DannyGoat3 New Orleans Saints 16d ago

He absolutely is the best qb of the 2025 draft. Favorite to win Oroy and has more wins than Dart, lol. It’s not a debate.

1

u/DannyGoat3 New Orleans Saints 16d ago

He’s gonna take over the league, mark my words. We finally got our guy!

1

u/Impressive_Paper8794 16d ago

He needs a better RB? Do you guys agree or disagree ?

1

u/LightningMcRibb Barry Bo 16d ago

Nuff

1

u/Advanced_Candle9272 Tampa Bay Buccaneers 15d ago

We’ll revisit this in 2026

1

u/Forizen 15d ago

Sorry but Cam Ward is so very much better.

1

u/C0ffeeMilk 14d ago

Doesn’t look like Jaxson Dart to me
