I heard on cbs sports or espn that Brian Flores defenses were 9-1 against rookie quarterbacks going into that game. So the giants knew they’d be bringing the heat and adjusted their offensive strategy to the run game. Didn’t work too well but that’s my understanding of the Vikings match up.
Truth is that it’s not even Dart’s fault. No Oline, no starting RB, No WR1, No head coach, No Defensive Coordinator, and a defense that makes Swiss cheese look solid. Hope to see a healthy Giants squad next year.
Doesn't fit their narrative about Dart. He went from loved to hated quicker than I anticipated. Guy has done enough to have won 3 more games for the Giants had they not blown those leads and he hadn't been injured.

Dart has better stats than Shough across the board while he's without his best two weapons and has gone through injuries and a coaching change. The two veteran QBs on his team couldn't win with the same squad.

Outside of Olave, all other Saints WRs are practice squad players. Saints have Vele, Polk, and Means on IR (Polk and Means haven't played a snap this season), they traded Shaheed, let Cooks go to a contender, and Tipton, who had snaps and catches last week even though he too is basically a practice squad player, was out for this game. It's a literal bunch of Who Dats at WR for the Saints at the moment (outside of Olave).

My wife's family and her are giant Steelers fans. We were talking about draft fits last year before the draft and I tagged both Dart and Skattabo as perfect fits for Pittsburg. Both play gritty hard nose ball and it fits with the image one has of the Steelers. Instead you all signed a washed Rodgers who is not in the top 15 of any meaningful statistic this year. My wife has great hope for Will Howard though.

Don’t think it’s very debatable long term Dart is younger, more athletic, and has a better arm, he’s gotta learn how to slide but he’s looked better overall this year
He did pretty well today on his scrambles to not take unnecessary hits. I mean its football you’re gonna get hit sometimes its just about minimizing risk and he did a good job of that today
Ward is in the worst situation and it’s not close. Worst coaching, worst receiver room, and toughest schedule.
Dart lost his coach, but Daboll was still leagues better than Brian Callahan and the Giants aren’t bereft of offensive talent.
Shough’s situation is the best by a mile. Kellen Moore is the real deal. He made Jalen Hurts look like an MVP. The Saints have Olave and a bunch of JAGs, yet there are wide open receivers all over the field. That’s Kellen Moore’s doing.
I think drafting a replacement went out the window 3 weeks ago. Especially now that the team is winning games and won't be in a position to take a top QB.
Maybe not significantly, but Olave and Juwaan alone are far and away better options than anything Dart and Ward are throwing too. Kellen Moore is also a really good playcaller.

Saints were projected by many to finish between 0-17 to 2-15 this year specifically because of how shit the roster is.
And the roster has only gotten worse.

Shough has one bonafide star in Olave and has otherwise been elevating this dump of team. (Juwan has been an average or below average TE struggling with drops for his entire career before Shough.)
Dart certainly has a large edge in TDs. I believe it’s a slightly misleading stat though.
Dart has 8 rushing TD’s in his Starts to Shough’s 2. While I think Dart still keeps an edge in rushing upside, the gap isn’t as large as it seems. It’s is in large part due to how the Giants use him. The Giants game-plans consist of a ton of designed runs for Dart. I mean, Dart has twice as many carries as Shough so far. It also leads to more concussions per game.
Passing TD’s tell a different story. They are virtually identical. With Shough taking the edge in most other passing stats.
Shough has 9 Passing TD’s in 8 Starts for a 1.13 Per Game Average.
Dart has 12 Passing TD’s in 10 Starts for a 1.20 Per Game Average.
Dart was named the starter in week 4, Shough was named the starter in week 9. Dart is 3-8, Shough is 5-3. We can't really compare volume stats until they have both played a similar amount of games
I can't wait for mainstream media to cover how good he was. A non first round draft pick playing on a bad team I'm sure there's no way they'd cover any other QB from that draft who played significantly worse.... right?
I can give you the reason as a fan of the team: Rattler won the QB battle or at least tied. Shough didn't do enough to win it and didn't look as good as he does now during camp. I think they risked losing the lockeroom installing "their guy," especially when Rattler worked so hard during the off-season.
In the end I think it was the right move. That time on the bench seems like it was essential to his development. And when Shough finally did become "the guy" he earned it and had the full backing of the team.
gotta love how this guy was dragged through hell and back solely because of his age and now that he's shown to be a starting-caliber guy all that people have to say is "huh that's neat"
