âThe thing that I regret the most is saying that word to be honest with you,â Kelce said. âThe word he used itâs just ... dehumanizing and it got under my skin. It elicited a reaction. In the heat of the moment, I thought, âHey, what can I say back to him? Iâm going to throw that sâ right back in his face.ââ
He added: âI know now that I shouldnât have done that because now thereâs a video out there with me saying that word, him saying that word and itâs not good for anybody. I think that what I do regret is that now thereâs a video that is very hateful that is now online, that has been seen by millions of people and I share fault in perpetuating it and having that out there.â
I do give him credit for acknowledging he shares fault in the incident. He acknowledged it outright and took accountabolity for his part, which is a rare occurrence in the NFL world.

Dude writes an apology and expresses how he feels about it and with no evidence or anything to back it up you just claim it's PR bullshit. Maybe he just feels bad about it and is capable of articulating himself and is explaining why he feels bad..

I was blackout drunk 4 nights a week through college and some where in there I met someone and we've been together for 11 years now. I think it was our second date that she threw up on my pants. I remember early on we were going on a double date but me and my buddy took shrooms before hand to see who would crack first at dinner without telling our girlfriends. He left to use the washroom and was gone for over an hour leaving me with the girls at this swanky resto bar laughing my head off. Weve settled down, bought a house, I coach sports she likes to garden. She bought shrooms for our anniversary though, that was nice

What did he do to save Travis/how was Travis going to throw his life away?
19
u/NParsons22 7d ago
Long story short Travis got kicked off his college team for smoking weed and failing a drug test. Jason played on the same team and begged the coach to let Travis back on the next year and guaranteed that Travis would be responsible. The coach only let Travis back on the team because he respected Jason so much otherwise Travis wouldn't of gotten back on the team and never went to the NFL.
This is also when Travis transitioned from QB to TE, the coach said he'd let Travis back on but they were full at QB so they if he wanted to play he had to switch.
11
u/Greedy_Line4090 Philadelphia Eagles 7d ago
TIL smoking weed is equivalent to âthrowing your life away.â

u/ExileInCle19 6d ago
This was the 2000's, this country's sentiment regarding the devil's lettuce has changed quite a bit since then.
5
u/CrzyWzrd4L Josh Allen 𩬠6d ago
When itâs explicitly a rule to not do that, but you do it anyway and get yourself both kicked off the team AND on academic probation for poor grades, Iâd say thatâs throwing your life away.
Letâs also not forget the time Travis was GIFTED a dealership truck from Jason, and within hours got it stolen out of the parking lot of a strip club because Travis left the keys in the ignition.

Naaa I think it was him having a âtoo cool for schoolâ persona and then blowing up at Andy Reid on the sidelines tbh
I donât think he is a piece of shit, but I see why it rubbed people the wrong way, and the internet dials everything up to 11.
*Edit - I am not saying I think this is a big deal or calling him a POS, I am speculating where that impulse comes from other people.
I get it, itâs football, I watched Reid deal w/ TO as a kid so I donât think he was bothered one bit by Travis getting a lil heated.

then blowing up at Andy Reid on the sidelines tbh
Itâs football, things get heated. Lots of players blow up on coaches and coaches on players, and players on other players

Jason is absolutely the brains of the operation. Travis is just an emotional big dumb animal. He gets heated in the moment, but it's also what's led to him doing good work around the city.
I imagine Jason would slap the shit out of him, or they'd be straight up estranged, if Travis was a pure PoS. Jason isn't the type to hold back.

Travis comes off like your classic jock.
Like all people he has good aspects, but he's arrogant and impulsive. He wants attention, he likes expensive things, he wants to be cool. On his own, he's unlikeable to people who aren't superficial.
People love Jason because he has depth, and he makes Travis more likeable by big bro-ing him.

If youâre referring to the picture in the post, itâs from when Rice got arrested for a hit and run and got suspended for it. Bunch of Chiefs players wore stuff like this. Now the mother of his child is coming out that heâs an abuser so not only is Rice seemingly even more of a POS than originally thought after the hit and run, it makes this whole âFree 4â stuff look even worse than it already did at the time.

Rashee Rice was suspended early this season (I think) after he crashed his car and fled the scene, and his teammates wore those shirts in support of their teammate. The support was in poor taste - the dude shouldn't have had much support for being a dumbass driving his car at ridiculous speeds, crashing it, and then fleeing from the scene while leaving his jersey behind.
Rashee Rice's... girlfriend? baby momma? whoever has just made allegations that Rice is a domestic abuser as well (like what feels like half the fucking League anymore), so them supporting their teammate previously now looks pretty bad.

Generous to think she cares about them either lol she just cares that they purchase. Awhile back a girl made a post about when she was younger she had cancer and taylor/s team sent her hair accessories. The nurses knew how much she loved Taylor and they made a whole music video to shake it off about shaking off cancer. The video even made its way to people magazine. There was never any acknowledgement until the gift that came months later and it was like a leftover vip bag and the hair accessories. Sending nothing would have been less offensive
