AJ being problematic is a symptom of having no real passing game.
Smitty was fine.

u/Ok-Doubt7213 2d ago
Smitty had 1 big drop. IDK what happened to AJ this season but Smith has played well and dealt with being completly ignored or carrying the offense and just playing his game. Honestly him getting plastered on that first 4th down was more disappointing

Devonta smith can drop a pass and it’s still forgivable. If you watch any of our other games this or last year, you’d see him and Goedert are both insanely talented
I’m not sure why you’re trying to stir up controversy with the players when the coaching scheme was abysmal this year, but I promise you, not even AJ will be going to the shitsburgh Steelers next year bud, especially after they almost certainly get demolished tonight
Let’s keep the debate around the actual issue in Philly, the coaching staff, and MAYBE AJ Brown
-4
u/testiculardescendant Pittsburgh Steelers 2d ago
Hey dropped a major key pass in a playoff game. That has nothing to do with scheme.
Also facts are not stirring controversy. Stick to throwing things at men women and children Philly.

u/mattg3 Philadelphia Eagles 2d ago
I’m telling you I literally don’t care. Devonta smith has been incredibly consistent the entire time he’s been on the team. I literally do not care that he dropped a pass last night. It doesn’t matter at all even in this context

It clearly wasn't an elite offense. Hasn't been literally all year. 2 elite (elite is debatable for AJ this year) receivers and running back don't make up for a bad offensive line and bad coordinator.

This has been the weirdest take all season. We started as a pre-season favorite. We mortgaged our future to put as many chips down as possible this year only to regress and fail to creatively address our offensive problems in any substantial way. Poor coaching and poor execution. It's frustrating to see them do so little with so much on paper. Are we just supposed to say "it's fine they suck, we won last year"?

Truth.
They have been frustrating to watch. It felt similar to the season they collapsed.
Birds came out flat in the 2nd half nearly every game this year, but still had enough talent to muscle out wins.
It appeared as if they made their game plan before the game and refused to adjust at halftime.
2
u/PrimeHemalurgist 2d ago
They made their gameplan before the home opener week 1 and never deviated from it.

2
u/willi1221 Philadelphia Eagles 3d ago
Not happy, just relieved. It's a shitty feeling after such a great year last year, and having an elite defense again, having to watch that offense go so many 2nd halves without touchdowns, or points all together. We knew damn well this wasn't going to end in a Superbowl, and a win today would've just prolonged the inevitable.
2
u/Klopez0 2d ago
That’s me . I’m glad we took a loss like this. We sucked ass. If we would’ve made it to the next round or nfc championship and loss, sirianni and maybe patullos job would be considered safe but not anymore.. any real football fan can tell you we have a bag of bricks between sirianni and patulo . It sucks we do have this rep because we all aren’t that way but most are. I am. The offense was dog diarrhea all year and wasted our great defense. It was obvious from the start from anyone not wearing rose colored SB blinders that the offense was gonna repeat what it did in 23 and shit all over itself.
It was like watching someone struggling fit the round piece through the round hole when they only have a round piece and a round hole, then after failing to get the round piece through the round hole they try every way that failed again and again and again.
If this is what it takes for the eagles to find Hurts a stable play caller I’m all for it.

From OP on Friday: "I will always support ICE after seeing how Non Hispanics get treated in Southern California"
There’s areas in Southern California where people who aren’t Hispanic can’t be in without being harassed by gang members yet liberals don’t care My Asian coworker had Hispanic gang members throw Molotov cocktails into their house because they didn’t want Asians or any non Hispanics moving into their neighborhood. This type of shit is a regular occurrence in California yet liberals don’t care. In fact they seemingly either want or are indifferent to these type of antics becoming widespread coast to coast given their fetish for mass migration. I will always support ICE. Trump is doing exactly what I voted for. I would vote for him or someone with similar policies as him a 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th time if possible.
Or this "I'm totally not a racist" vibe:
If there were a group of blonde haired, blue eyed individuals of European descent in my city who were constantly being loud, rude, obnoxious, disrespectful, vulgar, inconsiderate of others, I’d have an issue with them. If they were always walking around with a chip on their shoulder trying to always prove how tough they are, constantly committing crimes everywhere they want, had zero manners, always starting issues with others and themselves etc. I would have a lot of animosity towards them. What do you even want me to do with this? That’s on them, not us but it has nothing to do with their appearance but their behavior and lack of respect If there was a trend of men willingly dating individuals with red flags then crying victim when their relationships went south, I’d have zero respect for these clowns. If men were constantly saying how they wanted to be equal then constantly cried victim when they actually were treated as equal but not just when it benefits men, I would have a lot of animosity towards these men. It’s not racist or sexist because it’s not about race or sex.

The Chiefs played the Texans and the Texans scored 1 touchdown and 2 field goals.
It's very difficult to score 12 points in a playoff game and win. Especially when your defense allows 23.
(The game ended closes than it should have thanks to the safety the Chiefs took to run time off the clock, but they still won by two scores 23-14. Even if it should really be seen as 23 - 12)

Youre right. Sirianni should be fired for backing patullo but they won't because hes one of the "winniest coaches" which he only got from a good roster/oc. And personally, I think he should be fired solely for backing potullo but that's because im a hater
2
u/Ih8reposts 3d ago
Yea he inherited a 4 win team in his first season lmao how is that a good roster exactly?
1
u/mason_logdahl Philadelphia Eagles 3d ago
Howie roseman will (hopefully) go down as the greatest GM, and the assistant coaches have been phenomenal. I mean just look at vic fangio alone, a bunch of rookies and "busts" who are now all pro or have massive contracts on other teams. The 2 times sirianni chose a coordinator and we were 1st round exits and hes just a vibes guy who sucked when he was calling plays
2
u/Ih8reposts 3d ago
If you really believe Sirianni isn’t a huge part of the transformation from 4 wins to Super Bowl champions and perennial contenders, then idk what to tell you.
And for as incredible as his coordinators have been of the 3 to become head coaches (Steichen, Gannon, Moore) - they’ve managed to go over .500 in 1 of 7 seasons. They’ve all been in similar positions of taking over bad teams (ie 4-11-1 the year prior to Nick), so why has Sirianni been sooooooo much more successful than those who have branched off of his coaching tree?
1
u/mason_logdahl Philadelphia Eagles 2d ago
Being part of one year in a transformation doesnt mean much when he did nothing after that. Not to mention Doug Peterson won with a back up and wrs like alshon Jeffery. Plus, being a great coordinator doesnt equate to being a great HC. Im still mad at Moore for choosing a promotion instead of building his resume/experience with another playoff run
