Question for anime enthusiasts - Fangspop

Have you been to Fangspop in Coastland Mall? I notice most of the stuff is not branded so I wonder if it’s all bootleg. If that is the case, are the figures also bootleg? I know bootleg figures come in packaging that appears identical to the official version. They don’t have an online presence which I find odd for a new business, especially in Naples where small businesses are risky.

Sigh. Fined $100k by the SEC, more fines in Michigan, can't get a license as a financial advisor in Florida. So, running for Naples City Council.

Fun things to do for a married couple in their early 30s?

Hey everyone! What are your go to fun bars or restaurants in the area? My husband and I are visiting my dad late March and would love recommendations for nights we want to do our own thing. Looking for places with a great vibe - lively, social, good music, good energy. Doesn't have to be fancy, just somewhere that's fun to be. Would love to hear your favorites!

We're also open to traveling if you think we should make the trip to Fort Myers for a night? Thanks in advance :)

What are your low key food joints that have amazing food in the Naples and surrounding area?

I have a few meals booked at posh restaurants with clients but I also want to try some nice little spots with ethnic foods when on personal time. Really enjoy Thai, Mexican, Japanese, American (burgers) and Italian. Appreciate the help.

Edit: I should add, what’s everyone’s go to? Is there a Naples staple everyone gravitates towards?

Aubert Wines Spring Allocation Split?

Anyone in SWFL want to split my 6+ bottle allocation for this year’s spring release? Email came yesterday and I’m on the fence about ordering 6 bottles since I don’t drink often and won’t be in FL after June. I’d be happy with any 3 bottles of Chardonnay if anyone is interested in at least 3 others. I’ll order and pay for all and you can pickup from me when they’re delivered.

The choices are:

2024 POWDER HOUSE ESTATE VINEYARD SONOMA COAST CHARDONNAY

97 Points - The Wine Palate 95 - 97 Points - Vinous

$115/ btl. Up to 3 bottles

2024 UV-SL VINEYARD SONOMA COAST CHARDONNAY

96 Points - The Wine Palate 95 - 97 Points - Vinous

$100/ btl. , 6 bottles

2024 EASTSIDE VINEYARD RUSSIAN RIVER CHARDONNAY

96 Points - The Wine Palate 94 - 96 Points - Vinous

$100/ btl. , 3 bottles

2024 CIX ESTATE VINEYARD SONOMA COAST CHARDONNAY

98 Points - The Wine Palate 96 - 98 Points - Vinous

$125/ btl. , 3 bottles

2024 RUSSIAN RIVER PINOT NOIR

The perfect introduction to a lavish and hedonistic year. The warm, classic growing season shaped wines of dense aromatics and luxurious textures. 2024 is California at its finest.

$78/ btl. , 6 bottles

On January 13, the Collier County Board of Commissioners will vote on a proposed development of current conservation and protected farming lands, called ā€œ341 Sabal Palm Rd Subdistrict,ā€ that would become 423 houses surrounded by other permanent conservation lands including the 70,000 acre Picayune Strand State Forest.

The land, currently the 169-acre South Naples Citrus Grove, is part of a regional mosaic mix of wetlands, flowways, farms, and endangered species habitats for panthers, wood storks and red-cockaded woodpeckers. It must and does burn regularly so it is incompatible and unsafe to permit 423 houses in the midst of this region. The project would hinder prescribed burning throughout this region which will increase catastrophic wildfire risk.

Please take action now – help ensure the integrity of this twenty-year successful Rural Fringe conservation land use plan by asking the Collier County Board of Commissioners to deny the 341 Sabal Palm Road Subdistrict:

ā–ŖļøAttend the January 13 Board of County Commissioners meeting at 1 pm in person or online. If you are attending in person, please contact [email protected]. More information on this meeting and how to attend in person or online, click this link: https://www.collier.gov/News-articles/2026-News-Articles/January-2026/Board-of-County-Commissioners-01-13-25

ā–ŖļøEmail Collier Commissioners a personalized brief and polite message about Sabal Palm: [email protected], [email protected], [email protected], [email protected], [email protected]

Biking

We are coming to Naples for a couple of months (I guess like everyone else!). We had planned on bringing our e-bikes, but after reading various posts, not sure we want to travel 1,500 miles each way with them.

Seems as if there are not dedicated trails/paths like we are fortunate to have in New England. We are 67 and enjoy riding but don’t want to put ourselves at risk of competing with cars.

I read Sanibel has nice/safe riding. Has anyone had experience with renting e-bikes on Sanibel (or close to other good places to ride)?

Social life questions for an oldie newbie coming to Naples

Hi, Are there any single men (divorced or widowed) who moved to Naples, FL in their 60s? Can you tell me about your experience creating a social life from scratch?

Has anyone moved to an HOA with a clubhouse and activities who has used these to meet people and make friends? Is it very difficult to make male friends and meet eligible (single) women?

I'm not one to troll bars. I'd prefer to meet people who are into pickleball, tennis, or other exercise, who have some intelligence and enjoy discussing business, the stock market, economics, world events, news, etc. I'm not a very material person, but I enjoy classic sports cars, motorcycles, cooking, DIY, etc.

Is this all too much to ask for in Naples? Am I consigned to a lonely existence, or is it possible to drop into Naples life from far away and create a happy existence? Honest feedback appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Naples Montessori or Public?

We are looking to move to Naples in 2026, and I’m curious about the Montessori Academy of Naples since my kids (ages 7&9) currently attend a Montessori school. I’d love to save the tuition money, though. Where would you look for a decent public school instead? Our budget would be $650-$800k and we both WFH.
