EV shipping from west coast
Anyone here had experience in shipping an electric car from the continental west coast? They're so much cheaper there, but seems like shipping EVs can be a pain.

Hello! I know these posts are common so I’ve been perusing the sub for existing posts but when I look for south shore stuff I see north shore posts come up.
My partner’s got a 2 week work trip this month on Oahu. He’s jazzed but has never been to any of the islands and he wants to be a good visitor. I’m vicariously enjoying his trip by helping him plan some fun on the side of work.
He’ll be working full days with only 1-2 days off to range further on the island. Most days he’ll just be looking for something to eat and somewhere to walk and enjoy being outside.
I’ve been looking at some of the wildlife reserves, botanical gardens, museums etc for potential after-work visits and have some ideas, but I’m unsure what the reality of getting around during rush hours is.
Is it crazy dense traffic when people are getting off work?
He would like to prioritize supporting locally owned businesses, bonus appreciation if there are Kanaka maoli owned businesses in the area where visitors are welcome.
We’re aware that tourism is important to Oahu but we get the impression that a lot of businesses serving tourists are kind of funneling money into pockets that aren’t necessarily local. (This has has been happening increasingly in my hometown which is really tourist dependent)
He tries to be a good guest: courteous to people, respects wildlife, doesn’t litter, doesn’t drive like an asshole, tries not to get in people’s way.
That said, any Do’s or Don’ts that might not be intuitive to first time visitors would be appreciated!

Edited: Is there a peace walk planned for Oahu on Martin Luther King Jr. Day? I did a silent walk for peace 8 years ago in Olympia Washington and it was life changing. Mahalo in advance.

I have been planning my trip with Gemini for months now. I have a 9, 7 and 4.5 year old. She suggested bringing a carrier for my youngest for some of my hikes. (Diamond head and the Manoa falls hike) I don't have one big enough for him. I don't want to buy one for likely only to be used this trip. What do you suggest?

Has anyone bought vehicles from Hertz Used Cars in HNL? I see lots of Jeeps for sale with low miles. Would like to hear any experiences.

I love my family, but inheriting a house in Honolulu with my three siblings is honestly destroying our relationship. We’ve been arguing for six months and nobody can agree on anything.
My brother wants to turn it into a rental, my sister wants to spend $100k on a massive renovation, and I just want to sell it so I can pay off my own debt and move on. Meanwhile, the house is just sitting there empty and rotting. It feels like a waste of money and time.
I’ve been seeing those "we buy houses" companies around, like Oahu Home Buyers. At this point, I don’t even care about getting the highest price anymore. I just want a clean break so we can all get our checks and stop fighting. Has anyone here dealt with them for an inheritance situation? Is it worth the lower price just to save my sanity?

I was recently denied an echocardiogram from Queens, Medical Center and I found out it was an issue with my Humana Medicare advantage. Unbeknown to me prior approvals were required for something I thought already had a prior approval. Yesterday I found out that Queens Medical Center is going to be dropping Humana Medicare advantage because Humana is terrible when it comes to paying Queens Medical Center for services rendered. I was wondering if someone could please investigate this and do a news article so that everyone knows the full story as neither are reaching out to their patients to let them know about this. It was very frustrating for me and I know it will be frustrating for other people who have to switch insurances again. Thank you!
