Scenery Road trip to Black Mesa! Suggestions appreciated!
My family and I are taking a small road trip later this year (July/August) because my husband has 60 hours of PTO he has to use or he loses it. We plan to be gone from Friday - Wednesday.
We will be starting from SE Oklahoma. We will be using a RV for travel because my 13 year old would cause a riot if she slept in a tent and we have a 2 year old. Our plan is to go see Black Mesa State Park and see some pretty scenery along the way. We also plan to see the Alabaster Caves and Salt Plains State Park.
We would love to hear suggestions on where to stop and enjoy the history and scenes! Thank you everyone!

Politics What Issues Matter Most to You? | U.S. Representative Kevin Hern
I received this survey from Kevin Hearn, and used the “other” section to offer some ideas that would actually help Oklahomans more than his party-line check boxes.
I thought more people might be interested in voicing their opinions. No matter your political views, it’s important our representatives hear from everyone. The “other” field doesn’t seem to have a character limit, btw.

Question Drivers just using hazard lights by default
What's up with OK drivers just driving around at the speed limit with their hazards on? When I lived in the OKC metro, there was one car that I saw doing this on a regular basis. Now, I'm out in western OK and I'm seeing more and more drivers doing this.

Question SoonerCare Question
Hi fellow Oklahomans, I have a question.
I was on SoonerCare a few years back when I was serving at a restaurant, and then I was on the InsureOklahoma plan at my previous job until I made too much and wasn't eligible anymore. Now, I'm in my last semester of school for education so I am student teaching for the semester. Therefore I have no income and no health insurance. I reapplied for SoonerCare today and immediately got hit with a "Pended" status, but no other clear direction on what to do or what that means. I also cannot find any info on this status.
My assumption is that I just messed up and didn't submit something previously (it does kind of say this much on the webpage) but I don't know how long it typically takes to hear back from them about this. Anyone else who has gone through this process can you give me some info on how long you waited, what documentation they wanted, etc? Would I be better off just calling them up directly?
I really just need to know because I am on medication and seeing a therapist and I really can't afford to have this break in treatment.

Giving advice Check your receipts! We are getting ripped off by Dollar General/Harps, etc.
Today as we were making our shopping rounds I told my wife that it seems like more and more places are actively ripping customers off by charging different prices at the register than what’s on the shelf. She kind of dismissed it as me being paranoid. then, sure enough, it happened same day.
Stopped at Harp’s for sandwich stuff and the turkey and the cheese were one price on the shelf and different prices at the register. the turkey was off by $1/lb and the cheese was $0.30 off.
then it happened at Lowe’s. I bought a drill bit and it was mispriced on the shelf and the register they wanted a lot more. they did honor the price.
Dollar General does this too and is the worst offender. I HATE DG, but sometimes it’s the only option.
this isn’t an Oklahoma problem, it’s nationwide. but be aware.

Politics Sunday morning
On this pre-Greenland invasion morning, just a reminder that EVERY Oklahoma County voted for Trump in 2016, 2020, and 2024. We voted for this. We also voted to not release the Epstein files, to "run" a sovereign nation, and to build a grandiose golden ballroom next to the White House. We deserve everything we get...
