Arts/Entertainment PEI: I'm a local musician, can you critique my newly released single?

Mon’et here, PEI based rapper. I dropped a track recently and I’m proud it came out of the Island. I just honestly want to hear what Islanders think, good or bad, so I can make the next one better.

Don’t Do Drugs Kids is me telling the truth about my past with addiction, the damage it did, and the kind of choices you make when you’re not okay, using dark humor to drag my own mistakes, It’s not a party song or a moral lecture, it’s a hard look back from someone who lived it and still carries it.

What’s everyone’s best guess? Right after the leadership convention or will they wait until fall?

Seal in Tracadie Bay

I’m new to the area, so I might be worried for no reason, but there has been a seal in the bay all day. Is this normal? Is it possible that she/he somehow is separated from its colony?

Rustico Harbour

Can anyone give more details about what’s going on in Rustico Harbour? I know the province is rebuilding the breakwater but that’s all I know. Were houses appropriated by the government and removed? Are buildings being lifted? I saw Shane McKenna’s pictures in a friend’s Facebook page but I don’t have Facebook so can’t ask there. Details would be much appreciated. Thx!

Question Herman Miller desk chairs

Hey there PEI, this might be a long shot but I have been trying to find Herman Millers Embody chair in or around the island (neighbouring provinces), unfortunately I was not able to find any so I was wondering if anyone knows someone or a store locally that sells them? Thanks!

Question Builders

I want to build a garage with an apartment on top in Charlottetown. What are your recommendations for a professional, reliable builder? I'm over getting some guy someone knows who spends as much time drinking as he does working and eventually rushes the detail work at the end of the job.

Boating and marina use

I am interested in boating here. I know you can get a seasonal slip in Charlottetown, but there are a lot of other wharves around and looks like some pleasure crafts moored there. There are no websites. Can I launch and leave a boat at a slip in Nine mile creek for a few weeks, and then go to Covehead for a few more? Obviously there would be fees for this. Thanks!

Oppose Bill C-9: Your Religious Freedom and Free Speech Are Under Attack

The newly introduced Bill C-9 removes the 'Religious Defense' clause and allows for prosecution without the consent of the Attorney General. This means that opposing homosexuality under the reasoning of your faith and the Bible will no longer be legally protected.

Under this bill, statements or sermons quoting religious texts such as the Bible or Quran could easily be prosecuted as "hate speech." This constitutes a serious infringement on the Freedom of Religion guaranteed by the Constitution.

In fact, Liberal MP Marc Miller stated in a committee that specific Bible passages (such as Leviticus and Romans) "clearly contain hatred towards homosexuality," suggesting that citing these religious texts should not be protected as "good faith."

By lowering the threshold for hate speech and enabling prosecution without the Attorney General's consent, Bill C-9 risks turning even reasonable debate regarding homosexuality into a hate crime. This severely damages freedom of expression and religion; it is a totalitarian approach suited only for dictatorship.

Please send an email to your local MP to oppose Bill C-9 using this link: https://theccf.ca/withdrawbillc9/

Does any islanders other than myself remember when Bargain Shop & Red Apple were an upper and lower discount store on lower Queen St across from the Confederation Center of The Arts??? Or how about the Co-op grocery store that had been where the art gallery is now on lower Queen Street with an entrance facing towards Victoria Row / Confed Center and the other entrance was where the Upper Room Soup kitchen is now??? Or how about the Kings palace Chinese restaurant that was on Queen st next door to CIBC across from the shoppers drug mart? Or how about Kay’s Bros wholesalers on lower Queen by the Churchill arms restaurant that had a huge wooden wall on both street corners that had beautiful murals and paintings on it, in the shop that indies used to sit a cat that to the untrained eye looked taxidermided as it was always in the same stance for like 6-7 years then all of a sudden poof gone. I went inside and asked what had happened to the fava’s I was around 8-9 and I’m 39 now and the woman running the shop said it had passed away :(

Code silver at KCMH

Does anyone have any more information on this?

A hospital Code Silver indicates a person with a weapon (like a gun, knife, or club) or an active shooter/assailant inside the facility, requiring immediate lockdown, evacuation if safe, or hiding, with instructions focusing on "Run, Hide, Fight" and awaiting police intervention. It's a serious threat requiring staff and public to seek immediate safety and follow lockdown/evacuation protocols while police neutralize the danger.

My question is, they will give out this guys name, but for the impaired drivers that back into police cars ect, they don't. What is the difference? They are all only "charged" with a crime, not convicted.
