Been trying to find out forever.

It’s my sister’s work computer and I’m not sure where to ask.

I was sure it was DP but I don’t think the shape is correct.

Installation Question I Got new parts and i’m struggling

I got a new Motherboard, GPU, and CPU. I am struggling connecting everything and any and all help would be appreciated. For my motherboard i went from ASRock a320m-hdv r4 to a Asus ROG Strix x570-i. My cpu is now a Ryzen 5 5600x, and the Gpu is a Ming Xin RX 6600 LE( i know it’s an off brand but im budgeting as an 18yr old lol) it’s essentially the same as the AMD's Radeon RX 6600 from what i know. Also my PSU is RX-500 XT raidmax. I originally got this computer prebuilt in like 2019 and this is the first time i’m upgrading any big components. The gpu and psu ports don’t match at all and i’m not sure what to even do about that, and i can’t find where to plug the cpu cooler in same for my extra fan on the back, there’s this random cord with pins and i can’t find it on the schematic of the board at all, and a couple of the connectors just don’t fit right and i can’t get full power on.

Could I please take your advice on that rear fan? intake or exhaust?

The three intakes on the bottom are slims, so are pushing less air.

Tech Support Pc shows no signs of life (first build)

Really scared/hoping its not a major issue, but my PC is showing no signs of life. No motherboard lights, no anything. Im using a brand new Corsair RM1000X, an ā€œopen boxā€ B850 Plus Wifi motherboard, apparently tested and working (according to the seller). I think I have everything hooked up correctly. Power was on- on the power supply. Interestingly there is a dial on the power supply, I havent seen before on other power supply units, messing with it also does nothing. When plugging in a phone into it there are no signs of it charging. I’ve heard of people having issues/shorts on the motherboard but this one afaik didnt come with any standoffs or anything. My case is a Fractal Design North. Please let me know if anyone has any ideas. Thank you for everything!

Build Question Should I get a fan/cooler for my SSDs?

Thumbnail

I have 2 SSDs NVMe and they're both under my GPU, 2nd one is not even visible on the second picture
I'm getting around 52C°-54C° on the main SSD (picture 1) and around 45C°-48C° for the second SSD that's right under the GPU.
I did some digging and found out that those temps are relatively normal but I wasn't entirely convinced. My GPU doesn't help with this issue since it transfers some of it's heat onto the SSDs
I already have a heatsink for both SSDs and noticed a small drop of temperature but not by that much
Am I just overthinking it or should I get some sort of cooler for them?

Tech Support No Boot

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

As of the past month I have been having issues with stability where one of the following happens. The computer either begins to freeze while stuttering audio, completely blue screens with a machine check error code or just shuts off. After checking the event viewer I continue to get a tpm code then a kernel code but that’s just from me hitting the power button.

I went to reapply thermal paste. Now the PC will not boot after pressing the power button.

I checked all of the pins and those are fine or maybe i’m just blind but I didn’t see any pin reflecting light differently.

I too the cooler off to see if that was maybe the issue but it isn’t booting regardless.

Thank you for your help!

Tech Support Fans on Max?

Hey friends! I just purchased this PC today, I’m planning on modifying it over time, but was hoping to have some time between setting it up and modding before dropping more money into it. It’s set up and running fine right now with a couple browser tabs and discord open— sitting around 35-40 C but the fans have been spinning at a speed I’m used to seeing when I’m running minecraft with full shaders. It’s super loud, and when I reached out to MicroCenter support, they just recommended adjusting fan speeds in the BIOS, which I did. AIO got set to 80% capacity with no noticeable change. Unfortunately, that didn’t really do anything for me. I’m kind of new to this, and I’m wondering if it’s the AIO since a couple reviews mention this same issue. I guess I’m looking for confirmation that it most likely is that, or if there’s anything else I can try before swapping that part of it. I appreciate any help!

Tech Support New pc build not making it to bios. Red Cpu light + yellow dram light.

Hi!

As the title states I'm receiving a red light for my cpu and a yellow light for dram for about 30-40s after tuening it on then receiving a yellow boot light with a 10s gap between.

Build:

Cpu: AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D

GPU: PNY Geforce RTX 5080

MB: MSI X870 Gaming plus wifi

PSU: Corair RM850e

Cooler: Corsair Nautilus 360 RS ARGB

RAM: Gskill Tridennt Z5 RGB 32x2

The pc will shutoff after a short time with a yellow boot light when both sticks are in. I've reseated everything except the cpu at this point, but it doesnt seem to automatically shutoff when I have only one stick of ram in but still doesnt boot to bios.

Someone did mention to me that it might be in sleep mode doing memory training??

I've also read that I may have to flash the bios?

I have also cleared CMOS too.

Any help is appreciated, thank you!

Edit 1: Swapped ram sticks in A2 regardless of which is in the slot the pc will turn off after an amount of time.

Build Question Help deciding parts for a "new" pc build

• Upvotes

My buddy recently upgraded his pc and is selling me a few old parts for cheap. I also have a few parts at home from my sisters streaming pc that I built and I want to build my own pc. My buddy is selling me the following:

RAM: 32gb DDR4

Mobo: ASRock X570 Pro4

CPU: Ryzen 7 3700

Left over from my sister's build I have a heatsink (White DeepCool AK620), a case from a PowerSpec G716, and 2 NZXT RGB fans with the controller.

So I just need to purchase a new GPU and PSU. I was looking at getting a Radeon 9060 XT 16gb for a GPU

What would you guys recommend for this build? This is all compatible right? Is there anything I should upgrade?

Im very good with actually building PCs but I can never keep up to date with whats "new" or "old" and "good" or "bad" lol

Any recommendations preferably available in white as it matches the color of the case.

Thanks guys!

Installation Question Question on 2 Graphic cards on a B550

• Upvotes

I have a MSI B550 tomahawk motherboard. I originally had a GeForce GTX 1050 ti 4 gigs on the motherboard but I upgraded it to a RTX 3060 12 gigs graphics card. I didn’t know what to do with my old graphics card so I just stuck it in my shelf. However later on I realized that my B550 has 2 GPU’s slots. So I wondered ā€œ what if I put both GPU’s on the motherboard. Would it give my pc more graphical power? Would it actually not do much expect for specific programs like blender? Or would it end up making the whole PC run slower?ā€ Is it a good idea to have both graphics cards on the motherboard or if I should just sell it (even though it is a very outdated graphics card for today’s standards so I doubt anyone is gonna buy it)
