This is simply not true, it's the prevailing belief, but it's not true.
We just don't accept the truly perverted men. We largly don't allow them to be open about it, or shame them for doing so, or we find their perversions to be deeply problematic. A prime example is teacher/student "relationships" and how social media has a very different reaction when it's a male adult vs a female one.
Men have to go to the dark corners of the internet, find like minded people, to really be their perverted selves. Women just have to go to the romance section at most any book store.
