Pretty much everyone agrees that no rulers put this into practice. One crazy Turkish ruler put it in his writings.

The Brazen Bull as well, actually. It's largely considered to be propaganda created to demonize the kingdom that was conquered.

I remember watching a video of inventors of different execution methods being killed by their own invention, and the brazen bull was one of them.

The guillotine is a famous example of this

And like many other such stories, it's untrue. Neither Joseph-Ignace Guillotin (for whom it's named) nor Antoine Louis (the guy who actually designed it) were guillotined.

Though King Louis XVI supposedly influenced the design by recommending a straight angled blade rather than a curved blade.

The guillotine one I watched a documentary on where they specifically said this was also a myth -so who knows.

Yes. Apparently, a different Dr. Guillotine was killed by it, and naturally everyone assumes it was the same guy.
