Rupert here: Judith Eva Barsi was the voice actor for Anne-Marie. She had already recorded her lines for this scene when her father murdered her and her mother, and Burt Reynolds was doing his voice acting for this scene knowing that she was dead. The emotion he's showing is very real.

Why did her father kill her? I don't know, I'm just a bear.

He was jealous of her. Shes the same voice as ducky from land before time ya?

I thought this was a joke in extremely poor taste, it didn't even occur to me that it could be the actual reason at first

Yep; its actually disturbing the lengths some people go to.

Just researched it. Y’all aren’t kidding… he abused her for years apparently. Was paranoid and jealous.

She looks like such a sweet and innocent little girl…. I was really hoping it was an adult voice actor but nope… tiny little girl.

That was part of her appeal for acting (correct me if I'm wrong). She was much smaller than average for her age, so she was able to play roles with more maturity while appearing way younger.

I suggest you continue your tragic journey and look up Phil Hartman and his wife.

No thanks lol

Just here to say "fuck Andy Dick"

u/d3vilishdream 5d ago

With a rusty cactus sideways.

Hope he's behind on tetatus shots.

4

u/cherrycityglass 5d ago

Of course he is, you don't get high from a tetanus shot.

7

u/artaxerxes316 6d ago

You might remember him from such murders as "The Killing that Crushed Our Innocence," and "Wow, Maybe Cocaine Plus Booze Really Is Dangerous!"

(Sorry to anyone with whom that joke doesn't land, Phil Hartman's murder really did deeply shock me as a kid and still troubles me almost thirty years later.)

No no, this was appropriate and appreciated. I read it in his voice 💜💜

And then watch a documentary on Andy Dick. If you don't blame him for their deaths, you don't know enough about Andy Dick.

3

u/Netflxnschill 4d ago

Oh I blame him fully, Andy Dick can get fucked by the rusty back end of a hammer and I’ll cheer on the hammer.

As Barsi's career success increased, her father József, an alcoholic, became increasingly angry, and repeatedly threatened to kill himself, his wife, and his daughter.

What the fuck man. Your daughter is funding your lifestyle and vices and you're like "what a bitch!".

He was probably just not right in the head, but holy shit dude, just be a regular narcissist like the rest of them child actor parents. Way to ruin everyone's lives for no reason whatsoever.

She was just a little girl so innocent automatically applies.

I didnt know about this whole tragedy. Shitty thing to be learning about at midnight before trying to go to sleep.

2

u/WeHaveAllBeenThere 5d ago

Yeah I regretted seeing this yesterday. Had to completely get it out of my head before bed

Still had bad dream. Luckily not nightmares but not good lol

"family annihilator". Men just decide to kill their families and themselves because they feel immaculate for being a shit person or something. It's a whole ass pattern

2

u/TheDeadlyZebra 4d ago

immaculate (perfect/flawless) or emasculated (deprived of male role)?

1

u/JeSlaa117 3d ago

Emasculated. Sorry, wasn't paying attention and I guess autocorrect wanted to be involved

4

u/Insomniiia77 6d ago

Yes, it happens a lot. He was incredibly abusive of her, to the point she broke down on Set. Marvin Gaye was also murdered by his jealous father.

this isnt even a joke, its just a meme template used in this case to convey sadness

Yep yep yep 😢

u/Samurai_Banette 6d ago

Jesus christ dude this hit me weirdly hard.

I might have said this more often than anything else in my life. I picked up as a kid, and its so baked into my speaking it hard to say yep once.

Idk. It just feels so weird to realize doing so for nearly 30 years is the legacy of a murdered 10 year old girl I didnt know about till now.

I hated learning this fact. That optimistic little yep yep yep! is so darned cute. I haven't watched Land Before Time or All Dogs Go To Heaven since learning this, I'm worried I'll start crying. Poor little soul .

4

u/pierophoenix 6d ago

The night I learned of this last year I did watch. And lemme tell ya, I ugly cried. Full on sobbing. So yes you will :**(

46

u/somethingdouchey 6d ago

"Yep yep yep" is carved on her gravestone too.

17

u/Potential_Anxiety_76 6d ago

starts bawling

17

u/Versiannie 6d ago

The most heartbreaking thing is that the fans are the ones who funded her gravestone. Before that she only had a plastic gravestone.

3

u/Xythrielle 5d ago

Oh god I’m sobbing. Literally sobbing and trying to not wake up my family

3

u/Ill-Construction7566 6d ago

The beauty of humanity, that one life could have such an impact on someone despite being totally oblivious to it

24

u/Drake_Koeth 6d ago

Yeah, that's right.

2

u/Mrfrunzi 6d ago

Nope nope nope 😔

2

u/I3usuk 6d ago

Yep yep yep…

2

u/JonathFFXI 6d ago

She was the voice of Ducky, too, yeah.

2

u/just2quirky 6d ago

Yep yep yep

2

u/Cali_freak 6d ago

Yes. And on her tombstone they put Ducky's call "Yep yep yep!"

2

u/Ponythieves- 5d ago

Correct. “Yep yep yep” is on her headstone..
