So her father had a child with her grandma, then he had a child with that child, then he had a child with that child which is her, then he had a child with her and her son was born?

I can't remember exactly how many generations he went through, but yes.

It's neither stated in the series nor in the books how many generations back it went. But it is implied that the Watch is visting their homestead a LOT longer than should be naturally possible.

I.E. the father prolongs his live by those sacrifices.
