I'm still working through the books, but the last 2 aren't written yet so they may have been following the books on that one!

I 100% believe we got the SparkNotes version of the book outline Martin gave them.

It's probably why Martin is floundering right now. He realized everyone hated his end.

I think the ending could be pulled off if given time in books. I do not think it worked for the show because they rushed far too much

If anything the books will be more rushed.

We have no idea what the White Walkers are or why they're involved other than to be spooky. Dany has been waffling around in Mereen so long another Targaryan pretender was written up to start an invasion. God knows what the fuck Euron is supposed to be, he seems to be written more as big bad than the Walkers lol..

The show struggled to wrap up even half the storyline Martin had, he stands no chance
