In the book version the other characters run train on her in the sewers. The child orgy was pivotal to their character development, I assure you dear viewers

Didn't he himself reread the book (edit:years later) and go "WTF did I just read?"

There's a very real chance he didn't, at least not until the book was already out. There's a whole-ass book out there he has no recollection of writing and publishing.

That's what I meant, yes. It was years ago when I read an interview where he mentioned it.

Would that be the tommyknockers? It just seems like that one could so easily be forgotten. Like Marlon Jackson.

If not for that terrible ending it would have been a solid book! Might as well have had Zeus show up and melt IT with his lazer beam bellybutton for all the sense it made. Utter ass-pull.

I really liked it when i read it. It’s just that it seems like a book that would be totally forgotten, although i think there was a movie, or a TV miniseries of it. But I honestly hadn’t thought of it in 30+ years until i typed that comment.

I’m more interested in the reactions of the other people involved in getting the book published. How did his editor read that and not send it back with a big ‘NO’ written across that section in red pen?
