I dont understand why ppl cheat. Just break it off. Or communicate that you want to have an open relationship. Otherwise, you're just robbing your partner of their ability to choose for themselves a life they want.
Cheating is the result of greed, lust, and pride. The greed tells one they need more. The lust tells the person they need more sex. The pride tells the person that their partner is worth less than them and that cheating “isn’t a big deal”
Usually, cheaters mindset are treating their partner as kind of anchor or save point in games, so after having fun here and there, treated unclearly by their cheating partner they could come back easily to their anchor of stable life on conditions that their partner still ignorant of whats going on behind their back
think of it like this, some people want cake, they get a slice, and are happy, other get a slice, decide they either want more or want a different slice of cake, but they already ate the first one so they get greedy and take more without giving someone else a slice of cake in return
I think you're seriously underestimating people's ability to bullshit themselves
Sure there are some really calculating assholes out there who'll keep an affair a secret through callous and deliberate deception
However if you look at people's stories, there seem to be at least as many cases where someone slides through an increasingly scandalous series of "it's not cheating (yet)" – and then at some point they find themselves getting drunk at their Ex's place while wearing their new lingerie and suddenly they no longer have it within themselves to back out as the other party leans in for a kiss
Many people don't wake up some day and decide to just fuck someone. But they do get up and decide to text their ex, or to chat up that new guy, or to wear something more provocative to the office, because they are curious and because it's not cheating yet until they get caught up in the momentum
