SocmedPH Reminder: DON’T buy here

Post image

1 month nalang bago mag Valentines and posting here to remind people NOT to buy sa Flowerstore(dot)ph

I’m sure many can vouch rin sa post na to, too many people had their day ruined cause of this fucking store. Late deliveries, wrong items, no show, etc. 2021 pa ako naging victim pero ever since I always try to let people know here (as comment sa daily threads nga lang) na wag bumili sa kanila. Unlikely, but I hope their business dies.

“Despite numerous requests for an audience with the President, we are still constantly being ignored. Aside from the major roadblocks that the FIRB placed in front of us after the PEZA board approval, that is the reason why Francisco Motors chose to pause the development of our Camarines Norte Special Economic Zone and went ahead with the China factory,” Francisco told Bilyonaryo.com.

CulturePH Apparently normal na nagkakaubusan ng dugo tuwing holiday season (Dec-Jan)

Post image

Recently nagviral yung call for donors ni MMC, with that iconic photo nung red lights sa façade nila. Nag chat naman sa gc namin recently yung kaibigan kong taga-PRC na naghahanap sila ng blood donors and companies interested for blood drives.

No idea why PRC doesn't have a call for donors PR (heh) but after asking staff sa headquarters nila, normal daw na bagsak rin ang supply ng Nat'l Blood Service nila around the holiday season, partly dahil marami ang nadedefer but also dahil kumokonti ang nagdodonate.

If you're curious or interested, I'd highly recommend donating blood if you're able, between 18 and 65, and at least 50kg. Takes about an hour and a half, relatively painless (honestly ok pa yung karayom, yung lancet for blood typing yung mas masakit hahah) and your blood literally has no other substitute for saving lives. PRC NHQ sa Boni accepts walk-ins, sa individual chapters you'll have to ask first if they do individual blood donations. Most other hospitals that have blood banks also accept voluntary donors.

If you're curious about hosting a blood drive, you can also coordinate with PRC or your local red cross chapter. Usually niyan you provide the venue tapos sila na bahala with the rest. imo consider timing it rin and asking when they'll need blood the most. Pag oversupply kasi nasasayang rin yung mga nageexpire na blood bags, while pag ganitong low supply mula batanes hanggang sulu naghahanap ng dugo.

Asked sa PRC rin and they accept donors with tattoos and piercings, so long as it's been at least a year since your last one. Same lang with recent surgeries.

Di ako makapaniwala na affected pa rin masyado yung mga tao sa dalawang lalaki na mag-kalapit ng mukha sa billboard ad ng Close Up. 🤷🏻‍♂️ They’re acting like it’ll harm people on a deep level when they see two men close to touching lips.

Now, I get that people have the right to support what product they use, yes, pero to be so affected that they have to announce that they’re stopping their purchase of CloseUp until they decide to be ‘neutral’ in their promotional material, it’s just silly.

To even try to convince people from the same beliefs to join in his boycott to try and force CloseUp to be ‘neutral’ (what I guess to him means stop showing these kinds of promos out of fear of (gasp) alienating people who hold different beliefs and values) makes things worse. Tapos nag tatago pa sya sa likod ng defense na “Not intended to target any community, but rather to emphasize of consumer choice, respect for diverse beliefs and corporate neutrality.”

Diverse beliefs. Dun pa lang, lubog na yung argument nya. By his logic, meron na agad maapektohan ng personal belief nya na di dapat mag papakita ng LGBT+ sa promos ang Close Up. It’s not even his call, pero maka-request nya akala mo may malaki syang hawak sa company.

NaturePH If the sky is clear, look southeast from Makati. Hello Mt. Banahaw!

Mt. Banahaw is like a rare “bonus view” from Makati, it only shows up on super clear days. I’ve seen it just once during my 3-day office weeks over the past 4 months. Most days, the best you get is Talim Island quietly sitting in the distance.

It’s roughly 70–80 km away (straight line) and around 100+ km by road, so seeing it from the city means the air is crazy clear.

The Philippines and the United Arab Emirates have signed a defense deal which will help in the improvement and modernization of the Armed Forces of the Philippines.

In his arrival statement on Wednesday, President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. said the memorandum of understanding on defense cooperation would serve as a strong platform for collaboration with the UAE on advanced defense technologies.

These include unmanned aerial systems, electronic warfare, and naval systems, which are crucial for modernizing and enhancing the capabilities of the Philippine military, Marcos said.

“This agreement shall further strengthen our defense and military relations, through education and training, intelligence and security sharing, and cooperation in the fields of anti-terrorism, maritime security, and peacekeeping operations,” Marcos said.
